I didn't try to see if it was fire proof or not, but I trust it is. Not sure if it's water proof either. But if that's not a concern, and you're only looking to store smaller items, then this safe might be right for you.

This safe is perfect to fit in small spaces. Very portable and not too heavy. You can fit passport jewellery and documents maybe not legal size. It serves its purpose and not too expensive as well

The key does not go into the lock easily - I had to apply graphite lubricant to make it usable. The heavy lock box has a pinch point so that if your hand is too close to the edge of the handle, you can get a painful injury! The heavy lid can also slam down and bash your hands if you're not careful. The box can't be closed without locking it, and if the key is left in place (if you're using it just for fire protection) it's very uncomfortable. Overall, quite a poor design.
While I have not tested this in a fire, it appears to be a high quality product. Due to the thickness of the concrete-like insulation, the interior volume is significantly less than the external dimensions might suggest. This model is adequate for several passports, extra car keys, etc.

I replaced an old metal fireproof box that was over 40 years old. This chest is much better quality. The key is a bit stiff when I try to open it, but locks easily. For anyone planning to store the box on the narrow side opposite the handle, it's not recommended by the manufacturer. To keep the contents secure in case of a fire, the box must be on its "feet", which are on the bottom (opposite the lid). The interior is small, but large enough to hold the contents of a small bank deposit box.
Good for what it is. A small fireproof case to keep small valuables in it. Almost too small for birth certificate but got it to work. Not something to buy if youre looking for one to screw into the floor.
I purchased this safe to store documents, jewelry, and other valuable items. There is not enough room for a full size sheet of paper without having to fold it. However, I do not have the need to store documents that size or that cannot be folded. Not sure how fireproof or water resistant it is as I have yet to have a fire or dunk it in my bathtub. I would recommend as with all safes that you store cash or paper documents in to buy the moisture absorbing silica packets because if any moisture gets in it will make everything damp. I have not had this issue as I had already included those when I began using this safe based on previous knowledge.
The website walmart says medium size but in reality it is small. A4 sheet of paper does not fit, the sheet has to be foldedOn the manufacturer's website, this model is listed as small.
