Programming it was easy following the instructions. The only issue I've experienced is occasionally the bolts don't retract after inputting the combo. I tried lightly puttign some WD-40 on the bolts dn thought that fixed the issue. But it still occasionaly will crop up. Doesn't keep me from usign the safe. I had another issue that Master Support helped me with. They were extremeyl responsive. I'd give this review a 4.5 if the support was added in.This a very good safe for a modest amount of money.

I bought the safe and watched a video about how to program it. I also read the directions. I opened the safe and extended the deadbolts. Now the deadbolts will not close. I called the technician who said to get better batteries. I did. The bolts are still extended and the safe will not close.

Their assistance was timely as I had already started the return process with Amazon feeling a healthy distrust growing for MasterLock and the service they promised to provide.Confidence has been somewhat restored but I sincerely hope I will not have to call on them for assistance in the future.

We looked at many options before landing on our Fire Proof SentrySafe. For the price it has more than ample room but is small enough to hide in our home. We also like that it is a name brand product. The digital combination lock makes access easy and the external battery access eliminates the fear of dead batteries with the safe locked. Replaced an older 20 year old Sentry Safe that the movers dropped 8 years ago. The top right corner had a big indent but everything else worked fine. This week while opening the old safe the top hinge by the dent gave loose. A crack by the dent spread to the hinge area and the hinge broke loose from the safe. The old safe would have lasted another 20 plus years had it not been Dropped! I'm sure this new safe will last as long and hopefully longer. However due to the design flaw. the safe become an attraction for burglary since people who installed it can easily open it in any other later days despite we changed the code and left in seconds. we don't have enough time to react to the situation. A safe should buy us time to defend our property. This SFW082ET simply does not do that.I am requesting Immediate steps to rectify the design flaw in the SFW082ET, ensuring that future customers do not face a similar risk.
I sold my house and left my old SentrySafe there as part of the sale. It was very old and super heavy. I purchased the SFW042F as a replacement. I chose this model, because it is smaller and has electronic keypad instead of old school rotary dial. It worked perfectly after installing batteries and assigned my user password. It is the perfect size for me. I also like the available attachments so that you can customize for your needs. Racks & shelves were not available for my older model.
This safe replaced a 22 yr old Sentry Safe (old tumbler type) that started to have combination/door issues. This new electronic safe is a dream come true. No more having to get on the floor to turn the tumbler, as it's now easy to input the sequence of numbers to open the safe. Only suggestion is to use lithium batteries vs the old type Duracells. Great safe and like the pull out shelf.
Safe seems to be ok. I bought this brand new at Walmart and after i arrived at home and opened the box I noticed a big dent in the back left corner. There were no visible signs of damage to the cardboard box because obviously I wouldn’t have purchased it. There is a sticker on the front that says to call an 800 number before returning it to the store but the number is no good and gives you an error after dialing. I have no interest in returning this safe as it is extremely heavy to be lugging around and luckily it’s just visual and doesn’t affect the integrity of the safe. However It sucks that I purchased a damaged item at full price.
