So happy with this purchase, mind expansion and all. I kept trying to find a good video on this product, but all I saw was jokers not holding back, I mean the filter knob isn't a linear tool or a screwdriver. Can't remember the term but, BPM bump a knob. Head bopping is to be expected at first here, but when all the videos show this, I want to see architecture, shaping, and form AFTER the learning curve. After just one hour of use, there is significant potential after dedicated use on the Sequential PRO 3. I don't want to just use it, I want to record a sensei take, just with the spaces in between. I ain't all EDM, I like alot of chill, some breaks, and a little club. It's a struggle to keep my mind in the cloud as a pre-musician. Tryin to do something nice. The ... MoreSo happy with this purchase, mind expansion and all. First hour impressions.

If you dig the Sequential sound, this is the mono-synth for you! Huge sounding and lots of versatility with all the different filters. The modulation possibilities are seemingly endless, but excels at more “simple” patches too. A monster mono-synth!

Plus: Great sound, ease of use, feature packed.Minus: sequencer is said to be real-time note capable which is not true from what I have seen and was one of my reasons for purchasing, the non SE/woodversion has some nasty and sharp plastic edges which have nearly cut me while rear my hands on both lower edges, a bit of sanding should fix.All in all a great synth with a wonderful workflow, making it easy to follow and understand what's going on.Hopefully and update will give us real time note sequencing, unless I have missed something and it's under the hood.

I have owned many analog and modeling synths over the years and after a few months of use, the Pro3 has quickly become one of my top picks. The sound engine is solid, but I really love that I can quickly accomplish taking ideas in my head and making them happen quickly because of the workflow of the Pro3. Assigning controls is super easy. I find that I don't have to waste time looking things up in a manual to accomplish what I want to do.
The Pro 3 is a top end mono synth that combines the vintage flavor of analog VCOs with and filters with a digital wavetable oscillator. It can do anything from subtle to extreme, and really excels at leads and basses, among others. This thing has tons of low-end oomph, and also great effects. Workflow in programming is pretty intuitive despite the complexity. It also has a really great step sequencer built in. Highly recommended!
The Pro 3 is in my opinion the best mono synth created to date. It can be vintage, it can be growly, it can be modern all within just a few knob turns. The UI, screen, and knobs make this a very user friendly synth. Everything just clicks, and the layout invites you to explore the sound design possibilities. To my ears, it sounds better than the current competition. The P6 and SEM filters sound phenomenal and get you that P6/OB6 character. However, I found the ladder filter a little underwhelming. The audio output was noticeably quieter when compared to the other filters and it doesn't quite get as "Moog-y" as I would have liked. It can get Moog-like but if you are looking for that mix cutting Moog sound, it can't compete. Now while I absolutely loved this synth, ... MoreThe Pro 3 is in my opinion the best mono synth created to date. It can get Moog-like but if you are looking for that mix cutting Moog sound, it can't compete. Now while I absolutely loved this synth, I unfortunately went through two bad copies that had faults in the PCB. Essentially, "noise" would be fed through the audio path and into the feedback knob causing a very loud, sustained, red lining saw wave. That noise would take over the entire audio signal, and the only way to get rid of it was to turn the synth off/on again. This happened every single session that I attempted to use it, which made it unplayable for me (not to mention the risk of blowing out my monitors). My copies also had an issue where occasionally the parameters would skip all over the place when scrolling through the wavetables or envelopes. That being said, I think Sequential has a pretty solid product here. And if you can get a good copy, I'd say it's worth it. I will most likely revisit the Pro 3 again in the future as I really do love it, but for now I am going to wait until Sequential works through the issues with their current batches.
Stunningly good sounding paraphonic synth that integrates well with modular and other CV kit. Sound is clean, with a great low end, with some lovely distortion and feedback controls for those who want something nastier. Three filters are great, but you sadly can't run them sequentially/in parallel. Almost everything can be modulated by something else (I think except the glide and FX selection). Only downside is the sequencer is basic (at least compared to an Elektron param lock), but the multiple tracks enable some decent creativity. Hands down the best para/mono I now own.
I've been a professional musician since 1988. I've owned way too many synths and samplers and etc etc etc.I have owned a Dave smith synth before but I never gelled with it. I saw a demo of the pro 3 on YouTube and bought it. I own a Moog sub 37 so I felt it might be too similar to need a pro3. I was wrong. The pro 3 is an amazing synth. It goes into modular levels of weirdness real easily and always sounds musical now matter how twisted you get. The filters and the implementation of the filter routings are absolutely the best I've heard. I am in love with the pro 3. Everything combines to give you a tool that will never exhaust its uses.I own a Waldorf iridium, Moog sub 37, Korg prologue, Roland jd-xa and the pro 3 is the most fun. It's a Must!!!
It really is a wonderful piece of kit. The VCOs give out silky smooth analogue tones. The digital oscillator wasn’t of much interest to me before purchasing it, but it’s been a revelation, it adds so many diverse options to enhance the sound. The three filters give very different flavours to your sound. It borders on modular level possibilities for modulation, and it has what is hands down the best built-in sequencer I’ve ever played on a synth. Solidly built body and keyboard. All of this packaged into an incredibly intuitive and enjoyable user experience
Amazing synth. Sold off a number items to get this one and was the best thing I could have done. It's an inspirational synth, every time I turn it on I seem to create a new track. The sonic range is just unbelievable, I was worried about chord limitations, but I have been blown away by the paraphonic mode. Awesome beast.
