Brilliant design which works very well. The Shark vacuum cleaner replaces a Gtech battery model which gave 4 years decent service but now just wont hold the charge, so needs a new battery - £70 plus.I decided to go back to mains power because I really dont feel that any cordless model from any manufacturer can compete with mains power. The shark is picking up dust that the cordless machine didnt know was there. Also its bagless which is good for two reasons. 1 bags are expensive and 2 you get lots more suction without bags. The main brush on the Shark is heavy, very heavy. I like that because it does the work by itself without the need for me to apply my weight to ensure the brush system picks up whatever is on the floor. When I first bought my Shark 500T I was delighted with it. However, after a while it gave up the ghost and was replaced under guarantee. However, With the replacement vacuum two screws holding a bottom plate could not be crewed back onto the nozzle after cleaning and the plate can't be replaced. Now I have to spend £70 just for a new floor nozzle. But on reflection it might be a good idea because cotton threads get caught on the roller and now there are cut marks on the blade. I do a lot of sewing and thought that because it is supposed to be non-tangle this problem would not exist. I would not buy another despite the powerful motor. All my other vacuums have lasted much longer so I shall be searching the market for an alternative manufacturer. I can't afford to buy ... MoreWhen I first bought my Shark 500T I was delighted with it. However, after a while it gave up the ghost and was replaced under guarantee. I bought this a few months ago and I’ve been extremely disappointed. Suction was not great but it has become so much worse in a short space of time. It’s useless now with a couple of small plastic bits on the cleaner also breaking off. I’ve only had it a few months and it just pushes dirt around.I paid £280 for this and expected a lot better based on reviews and decided to give Shark a go for a change after having my last Dyson vacuum for 8 years. Save yourself the trouble, do not buy this product as it’s no where near as good as advertised even if there has been a price decrease since purchased. Shark should also do alot better with their customer service.

This has to be the worst hoover I have ever owned. I purchased the Shark Duo clean last October when I moved into my new home. Yes it is light compared to the Dyson I had prior but its just so poorly built. The handle is so loose and the whole thing feels like its about to fall apart. The reason I brought this model is because a friend has an earlier model and swears by it. On their earlier model you are able to take out the roller bush to clean it but not on my model. So when it stopped turning a few weeks ago I was not able to take it out to clean it. I called Shark direct and was on the phone for 90 minutes in total before they agreed to send me out a replacement. They refused to send me a new machine and just sent me the bottom bit with the roller. So now I have ... MoreThis has to be the worst hoover I have ever owned. I told the chap on the phone at Shark that I am just not happy but he was just not interested. So I now own a multi coloured shark that will not even pick up sand from my Kitchen floor after a visit to the local beach.
Used this vacuum cleaner a handful of times and I’m very happy with it. Can’t comment on longevity as only had it a short time.Really like its aesthetics and also how it bends in half making it more compact for storage. The hair wrap cone is useful because I have long hair, which gets everywhere; I’ve not had to go cutting hair off the rollers which is a first! The motor isn’t very loud which is helpful as I live in an apartment. Love the headlights because it makes you focus on the exact area it’s cleaning, and if it starts to go dark I don’t have to put the ‘big light’ on to see what I’m doing. Would have given it 5 stars but the power lead isn’t a swivel one, and although it isn’t heavy for me as I don’t have a large space to vacuum, it may be a bit of a ... MoreUsed this vacuum cleaner a handful of times and I’m very happy with it. I’ve still got to get used to operating the ‘vacuum under furniture’ function, but to be honest there’s only my dining table, coffee table and desk it would fit under.
Ah… I bought this product (4 months ago) based on glowing, golden reviews of people who clearly don’t know how to clean their homes. Even the staff in John Lewis are just pushing for sales with no other knowledge of the products than the descriptions you see online.Well, I should’ve known better, after all, I did work as a professional cleaner for several years…The first few runs were pretty much flawless. Naturally, I clean and handle the unit with accordance to the instruction manual to make sure its life is extended as far as possible and to keep the unit in mint condition. And yet, it’s still not good enough, because it’s just getting worse and worse. Naturally, I clean and handle the unit with accordance to the instruction manual to make sure its life is extended as far as possible and to keep the unit in mint condition. And yet, it’s still not good enough, because it’s just getting worse and worse. I’ve changed the filters, kept cleaning, emptying and storing the unit as usual, but the suction power just keeps decreasing. I’m getting to a point where the vacuum cleaner isn’t picking the dirt up properly and I am spending 35-45 minutes each weekend vacuuming a 2 bedroom flat with hardwood flooring throughout. I don’t have any pets, before you start to wonder, I think that would be the ultimate nail in the coffin for this one!In addition to all this, recently the central joint where the vacuum folds down in half has started to give way and I’m just waiting for it to finally break.Yes, I shouldn’t look into the mouth of a gift horse, because I did but this item on a 50% sale, but I now really regret not getting a Henry, of which I know that it will get the job done brilliantly. I really like the clever idea of a folding hoover, and how little space it takes up in my cupboard, but I am now willing to compromise, and sacrifice cupboard space for a decent vacuum.I don’t believe I am eligible for a return now, as I’ve had it for 4 months and it’s used one-twice a week, so I’m just going to stick it out for a few more week, until I can get a Henry after Christmas. Two stars only because I find the folding idea really clever; although, it does come with its little defect of not being perfect in the joint.
I recently received my Shark Truepet corded Stick vacuum cleaner. I had seen many demonstrations on tv but until now, I had only thought that maybe my next vacuum would be a Shark, when a replacement was needed but with no definite plan. I have always stuck with my corded canister from another well known British manufacturer because it was doing a good job and there was no reason to replace it. But after having a serious operation on my lower leg and then struggling with the weight of moving the canister up and down the stairs I needed to find a better solution and after researching the various Shark models I came across a good deal for the Truepet HZ500UKT. Since receiving it a few dsys ago I have used it twice and was shocked at how much dust the shark had sucked up. Obviously doing what it is stated to do by removing dust from deep into the pile and also from under the carpet. And the anti hair wrap technology is brilliant. I am really amazed by the suction power and the performance. I have read the occasional review where they say the vacuum is heavy to push around, but that is because the suction is so powerful and literally holds on to the carpet and pulls out the dust, dirt, and hair. I have not found it heavy to lift up when moving it about. I also think the Flexology feature is excellent, especially for storage where the vacuum is very compact when folded over. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. The only small niggle is that I just wish the accessory tools were a click on instead of just pushing them on. It would be a better fit and much easier to put on and take off. Perhaps that could be considered for future development improvements.
Sucks very well, my mats/rugs are very clean.Pretty versatile laying flat to get under the bed and furniture, I like the swivel head to get around things easily.Doesn’t run out of battery as it’s corded - and it’s got a long cord - gets to all corners or my unit and out the front door without having to change plugs.Love the light on the front - shows where any dust is clearly. Folds down to half height - easy to stick in a cupboard.Only 2 (very slight) issues - it’s slightly heavier than I expected (not particularly heavy though) but due to this the side of one of my fingers rubbed a little on the grip - not enough to give me a blister (took me about 20 mins to vacuum my 2 bedroom unit including getting under the bed and other furniture, but if I had taken ... MoreSucks very well, my mats/rugs are very clean.Pretty versatile laying flat to get under the bed and furniture, I like the swivel head to get around things easily.Doesn’t run out of battery as it’s corded - and it’s got a long cord - gets to all corners or my unit and out the front door without having to change plugs.Love the light on the front - shows where any dust is clearly. Very easy to empty the chamber though- took about 10 seconds so not much of an issue.
Great vacuum cleaner, good suction and the brushes do pick up hair without entangling the brushes. The HZ500 is light easy to use and cleans effectively, in fact much better than the vacuums we have previous owned (including but not limited to a couple of Dyson's and a Bosch). However, that said the HZ500 had an inherent serious design flaw. The joint that allows the "wand" (official part name) to fold is not fit for purpose. If you go to the reviews of this part on this website and reviews on websites from online seller of the HZ500, you will see that a lot of people have suffered similar failure of the wand hinge. The joint that allows the "wand" (official part name) to fold is not fit for purpose. If you go to the reviews of this part on this website and reviews on websites from online seller of the HZ500, you will see that a lot of people have suffered similar failure of the wand hinge. Admittedly some broke theirs trying to fold the "wand" (pipe connecting the brush to the vacuum motor) the wrong way. For us the hinge joint failed gradually, it started with slight side to side lateral movement, which over time increased until moving approximately a centimetre to the left or right when it completly broke ( I wish to make clear the vacuum was 13 months old when the wand broke and it had not been abused, in fact apart from the first day of ownership, we had not used the hinge to sweep under furniture, only to fold the correct direction to store the vacuum). I tried to place a makeshift splint round the hinge joint but it was not possible to do so in a way that would stop the movement, plus the vacuum wand could no longer be folded. After the wand broke, I want on to the Shark website and tired to purchase a new one but the Shark parts website has shown the HZ500 wand as out of stock for nearly six weeks now. Also I scoured eBay, Gumtree and every other site I could think of but the only one that appeared on eBay was second hand and purchased for over double the price of a new one.In fairness after calling Shark five times over several weeks they did actually solve the problem. However knowing that the HZ500 has an issue with the wand hinge it should have only taken one call to obtain resolution, not five calls.Shark you need to redesign the wand hinge so that it is not so fragile.
mainly good reviews but a few negative ones re this hoover so was a bit dubious - however this hoover has blown me out the water! didn’t think i would ever be excited over a hoover maybe 27 is the new 70 but i don’t care this hoover is FANTASTIC. the detachable option makes it so much easier to get those tricky places that the main wand may not be able to reach. the actual hoover itself is so nimble and weaves in and out, the headlights on it to highlight the dust is a great feature!! cleaning out the filter is reslly easy, which is good as it fills up quite quickly so doing my entire apartment would mean i clear out the filter a couple times. if you have a large house i would suggest a different hoover and cordless so the filter is able to hold more before having ... Moremainly good reviews but a few negative ones re this hoover so was a bit dubious - however this hoover has blown me out the water! didn’t think i would ever be excited over a hoover maybe 27 is the new 70 but i don’t care this hoover is FANTASTIC. the detachable option makes it so much easier to get those tricky places that the main wand may not be able to reach. the actual hoover itself is so nimble and weaves in and out, the headlights on it to highlight the dust is a great feature!! cleaning out the filter is reslly easy, which is good as it fills up quite quickly so doing my entire apartment would mean i clear out the filter a couple times. if you have a large house i would suggest a different hoover and cordless so the filter is able to hold more before having to empty it. but for my large 2 bed flat it works a treat! the options of hard floor and carpet aswell is great and it’s a powerful hoover - gets rid of a everything! all in all - chuffed with this purchase!
