Decided to go down the Shark route when my Dyson broke. I do have several Ninja products and are pleased with them all. As expected it came up trumps. Shark Classic Upright Vacuum NV602UK arrived in less than 24 hours. Well packaged and easy to assemble, the few pieces that needed to be. Plugged it in and away we went. It felt a little flimsy compared to the Dyson but manoeuvred easily around the room. Love the fact that the tools are carried on the hoover. Always there should you need them. Suction is great. Emptying the dust container is straight forward. Lift away is easy and not heavy to use. Did decide, however, to NOT purchase the anti hairwrap and have found that the carpets look better with the brush roller (personal choice). I went for this Shark model as it was in the sale and I couldn’t get a Dyson for anything close to this price.I was dubious about the Shark I have to be honest.However, I really really like it.Pros:1) it so much lighter than the Dyson when carrying it around the house. I also like that you can remove the dust container (or whatever you call it!) really easily compared to the Dyson, which was fiddly to do.2) the suction is amazing! I can’t remember my Dyson ever being that strong but maybe I just can’t remember that far back. It certainly wasn’t as strong as the Shark before it finally packed in.3) the cord is longer so I can get further.4) it’s easier to stand upright once you’ve finished hoovering5) the lights ... MoreHad a Dyson Ball for years and it broke. I hoover most days, as I have cats. My friend bought me this hoover, as a gift. The hoover I have, is OK on hard floors, but not so great on carpet (even though it's a pet hoover). I thought I'd give my new hoover a test drive last night. I literally hoovered just this small area (see photo) and it picked up this much cat fur and dust. I was shocked to see how much my old hoover was actually leaving on the carpets. Fast forward to this morning, and I emptied both hoovers, I hoovered my landing with my old hoover and thought I'd go over it again with the new one. As you can see in the 3rd and 4th photos, the carpet looks clean. But, again, it's picked up loads of dust and more cat fur. I'm so pleased with this hoover and will definitely recommend to people.

Not happy with this model compared to my previous Shark vacuum. It’s very heavy, not as manoeuvrable, the max suction mode is pointless and cannot be used as it’s almost impossible to run over a short pile flattened carpet and the suction is not as powerful. Still had dog hairs visible after a really good run over. Wouldn’t pick up a spot on my kitchen floor, wiped it with my finger and it moved. Also, the apparently 8m cord failed to reached parts that I could previously reach with my old models 5m cord when plugged into the same socket. That’s one of the main reasons I went for this one, so I didn’t have to bother with moving plugs and now I have 2 rooms with spots I can’t reach instead one place in one room. Sadly can’t return because it’s been 7 days past the 30 ... MoreNot happy with this model compared to my previous Shark vacuum. It did an absolutely brilliant job at bringing up a tonne of dust and pet hair that my other vacuum has evidently done very awful at sucking up.It’s super light weight , and the fact that you can “lift away” made doing the stairs such an easy and stress free task. I managed to do my stairs in less than 5 minutes (normally takes me longer).It’s great on carpet , and hard floor too. And manages to pick up larger bits & pieces (such as cornflakes and crisps which my two year old scattered on the floor). I was concerned about returning to a mains lead vacuum after the freedom of re chargeable batteries. It hasn't been a problem as this has a good length cord - I can get right down our stairs (2 turns & landings) without unplugging. Its predecessor's batteries no longer held a charge & new batteries were obsolete so I didn't want a repeat problem in a few years time. I have now been able to ditch the bulky charging base. This unit seems more stable in upright position, the suction is better, it's also quieter & picks up well to the edges. It does lie flat to vacuum under furniture but is restricted by the chunky cube shaped dust cylinder which is a pity. . I think it's better pick up on hard floors as the brush still turns above the surface & creates a sort of vortex that pulls in nearby fluff etc. So far so good
This is an amazing little vaccum cleaner for the price. It is not too heavy therefore it is easy to move around. It is built well though despite it being light. It has great suction on carpets as it has two functions. It is harder, however, to move the vaccum on the more powerful setting as it really does grab the carpet. It has lights on the front which is great as you can see where you are vaccuming. It really does have good take up and the emptying of the cylinder is easy to operate. It is surprising to see how much you get out of your carpet. The length of the lead is adequate, despite some people saying it is short. Not tried the stair function yet, but sure I won't be disappointed. Can't recommend this product enough.
