The Shark FlexBreeze Outdoor and Indoor Fan with InstaCool Misting Attachment is a versatile and powerful fan that can be indoors and outdoors, which is exactly what I was looking for! It features five fan speeds, an optional misting attachment, and a flexible design that allows it to be positioned in a variety of ways. Let’s get into pros and cons of this unit and what I think about it.Full disclosure, I was not able to test this outside for very long as it’s still winter in my area, but I did confirm the misting function works as advertised and having had other misting fans, I can also vouch for how well a misting fan can cool an outdoor area.Pros:Powerful airflow: The Shark FlexBreeze is powerful, both in corded and cordless modes. You can definitely feel the breeze, even outdoors, when the fan is on it’s higher settings.Misting attachment: Hookup the misting attachment to your hose outside and instantly cool down a deck or patio. This function works really well and makes this fan an indispensable outdoor accessory.Flexible design: The fan's flexible design allows it to be positioned in a variety of ways. It can oscilate, it can tilt and can be used off and on it’s pedestal.Corded or Cordless design: With up to 24 hours of battery life, you can certainly use this fan cordless without any issue, which is a great feature when outdoors and electrical outlets aren’t easy to reach.Remote control: The fan has a remote! I mean…how cool is it to be able to turn it on off, adjust oscillation, etc while 10 feet away?Cons:Outside usage: You’ll definitely want to use the fan at higher speeds when outdoors, as the lower settings aren’t nearly as effective as they are indoors.Misting attachment can be messy: Misting can make things wet, so be aware if you’re out there reading a book or magazine.Price: The asking price for this unit certainly seems high, but it’s due to it’s versatility and cordless function.Overall:The Shark FlexBreeze is an awesome fan. It’s truly one of the best outdoor accessories you can get for a patio or deck. It’ll cool down a pretty big area with it’s misting function and that alone is worth the asking price. Add the ability to use it cordlessly and either on a pedestal or as a tabletop fan and it’s worth even more. If you’re looking to cool down a big outdoor area, this is your ticket.

I'm serious, I absolutely love this fan. When I first got this fan, my initial thought was there's no way it would be worth the price tag when you can easily get your simple everyday pedestal fans pretty cheap. You know the ones I'm talking about, the cheap plastic ones most households have that surprisingly seem to last. But the moment I pulled this fan out of the box, I knew it was nothing like those cheap fans. It's built of quality materials and doesn't feel flimsy at all like those other fans.Still, I thought that's not enough to overcome the higher price, but the more I used it and the more I tried it's many features, it slowly changed my mind and now I completely believe it's fully worth the price. The key here being the thought put into its design and most importantly, its versatility. So let's talk about all the things that this fan is and can do, starting with just being a fan. Pull it out of its box, assemble the pedestal stand, insert the fan into the pedestal and plug it in. At this point it can do everything those cheap pedestal fans can do. Turning it on it blows air with multiple speed options and can oscillate. But even before we get to other features, it does these 2 basic features so much better. It doesn't just have 3 speeds, it has 5 speeds, plus a 'boost' option to really kick it in high gear. And it doesn't just go between oscillating or not, it has multiple oscillation settings to customize how much area you want it to cover, all the way up to 180 degrees! Of course it tilts up and down as well, but even this is better. It can easily be adjusted up or down by simply moving it into position, no tightening knobs required!Yet we're still not ready to move onto other features, because we have to talk about the airflow. This is yet another thing that puts it well past other fans. The airflow is just so smooth, and quiet. It's tough to describe in words but as the air is blowing past my skin, it just feels velvety smooth, even at high speeds, whereas other fans will be choppy and turbulent. Did I mention it's quiet too? With all the speeds it's plenty powerful too. This brings me to my one and only negative thing I have to say about this fan, and in truth it's not really that negative. Shark says you can feel the breeze up to 70 feet away. As I've learned over the years with all manufacturer claims, achievements like that tend to happen in ideal perfect world conditions. I tried several different conditions, outdoors and indoors. At over 20 feet the breeze was strong and easily felt, but outdoors if there's any kind of natural breeze at all you won't be able to feel the fan's breeze much past that. So I took it inside my house and placed it down one end of a hallway to practically create somewhat of a tunnel effect. As I slowly walked back, at 20 feet again it was a strong breeze, at 30 feet I could feel it but it was very light, at 40 feet I could barely feel anything at all, and that's if I stood still with my eyes closed and really concentrated. So I couldn't get anywhere close to that 70 foot claim. My guess is that it was achieved in some kind of wind tunnel. That said, I don't really have a use for a fan to be felt from 70 feet away. As strong as it was at even just 20 feet means its more than strong enough to cool you down in normal use cases, which for me will honestly be mostly in my garage when I'm working on my car in the summer or on the outdoor patio when grilling or guests are over. Now though is when we get to all the cool stuff, no pun intended, that really brings in the value. I'm not even sure which feature to start with or what order I even like them in, so in no particular order, let's start with the fact that this isn't just a pedestal fan. It's also a table fan. With a simple push of a button, you can pull the fan out and the bottom splits into legs. This is what I meant by the thought put into the design. They literally incorporated the legs in a way that you never have to worry about attaching them or losing them, they're just always a part of the fan. And the plug for the power cord? There's 2! One at the bottom of the pedestal stand and one underneath hidden by the legs. Another well thought out design feature.Speaking of that cord, all that cool design was really just icing on the cake, because you don't even need the cord all the time since this fan is cordless too! You don't realize how nice this is until you use this fan in multiple places and never have to worry about where to plug it in. Or stretching it out and creating a tripping hazard with the cord. So far it's hard pretty good battery life too. While we're talking about moving it around, in yet another well thought out design feature, the back of the fan has a built-in handle that's perfectly designed into the body, making it even easier to move around, and it's not really that heavy either. This also makes it the perfect fan to take on camping trips, or weekends at the racetrack.Since we're no longer tethered to a cord, we might have the fan further away from us, but don't worry, there's no need to get up every time you want to adjust the speed or turn the fan on or off, because this fan has a remote! I tested it during my wind distance check and it easily worked from over 40 feet away. You might be thinking, great, another small remote to lose, but Shark thought of this too, and made it to be able to magnetically attach to the back of the fan, I mean, how cool is that!If all that wasn't enough to add up to getting your moneys worth, this last feature is what puts it over the top. The misting attachment. I didn't think I would love this thing more than I do after first trying it out. The 2 misters on the attachment produce a super fine mist, and that's without the fan even on. You could actually use the mister attachment on its own without the fan if you wanted. But putting it on the fan is where it's best. It very smoothly snaps into the front of the fan, so no water actually goest through any part of the fan itself, and as fine of a mist it creates without the fan on, once you turn the fan on too, well, all I can say is wow.I know it almost sounds like I work for Shark but I promise you I don't. I rarely write reviews this positive, I just really, really love this fan and almost can't wait for the summer to really see the benefits of it. It's one of those products I struggle with trying to find something negative, like the fact that I couldn't replicate a 70 foot breeze distance, which really isn't a big deal at all to me. If I have to find one other thing to nitpick, it would be that the pedestal height can't be adjusted, but even that isn't really a big deal considering you can just pull the fan out of the pedestal and place it just about anywhere you want.Overall, this fan is much more amazing than I initially thought it would be, so much more this review is amazingly long for something as simple as a fan. All this to say it's worth it though, you won't regret it.

You can adjust fan speed, oscillation, tilt, and enable boost mode. The setup was quick and painless took me less than 10 minutes to get it up and running. Being a much smaller fan I was still surprised at how much air it’s able to circulate. At the highest setting which is level 5, you can feel the air. At this level you will hear the fan noise but not too loud. At level 1 you can’t even hear it all, so perfect for those that want a slight breeze with minimal noise. If level 5 is not cutting it there’s also a boost mode for those hot summer days (on battery mode it’s limited to 20 minutes). Battery life does take a huge hit if you have everything on and at max setting. I would estimate from a full charge at level 5 with oscillation on the battery quickly ran out right around the 2hr mark. If you have it set to level 1 with no oscillation you can expect battery life to hover around the 20hr mark. I would have liked for the AC cord to have been much longer. It does come with a misting attachment that is easily connected to a water hose and attached to the fan.You can adjust the water pressure to adjust the amount of mist coming out.Overall this is a great versatile fan and so far my experience with it has been a positive one. If you like to gather outside with friends and family I highly recommend the Shark Flex Breeze fan for your next outdoor gathering.

The Shark FlexBreeze Outdoor and Indoor Fan with InstaCool Misting Attachment is another unique, high-quality product representing the Shark brand. I really like the quality and uniqueness of the products Shark releases, and as crazy as it may sound, this FlexBreeze fan may be one of their best products yet.At first glance, the FlexBreeze may seem like any other fan, but it has many additional features that really make it stand out. Shark claims the cordless runtime is approximately 20 hours but the description here lists it as 24 hours. I haven’t actually tested the total cordless runtime out but it does seem like it will end up being somewhere around the 20 to 24 hour range which is more than good enough for me.Last but not least, the ability to convert the fan from a pedestal fan into a tabletop fan is another really nice feature. It is very easy to convert it from one mode to the other with the little tabletop legs built-in.When it comes to performance, the FlexBreeze is very powerful yet surprisingly quiet at the same time. It even has the ability to oscillate 180 degrees, tilt 45 degrees, and has 5 adjustable speeds. All of this in combination with the features listed above make this the most unique and versatile fan I have ever seen.Overall, the Shark FlexBreeze Outdoor and Indoor Fan with InstaCool Misting Attachment is an amazing product with great features and I highly recommend it!
Living in Georgia and being blessed with a body that sweats by doing nothing more than stepping out into the sun, any opportunity to blow cool air on me while I’m outside is always appreciated.I was intrigued by the notion of a battery operated fan of this size both in noise levels and overall usefulness in outdoor situations. After a few days of experimenting with it I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s best to keep the fan on the stand, connected to an outlet for power and take advantage of the various oscillating features of the fan. If you are going to go portable with it, you want concrete or a flat surface to place the fan on. The portable stand has a very low tolerance for slopes of any kind.Noise levels are excellent - even at the max settings the noise produced is minimal compared with other fans I use and when on the full stand fan oscillation is excellent. Lately this fan has found a home in my gym offering a gentle breeze from behind as I run on the treadmill.I haven’t found a need for using the remote that comes with the unit as all the controls are physical buttons found directly on the unit.I do wish the power cord was both longer and smaller. In almost all the scenarios I found for placing the unit outdoors when I’m in the backyard involved placing the fan in spots that are too far away from the power connections in my backyard. Nothing that can’t be overcome with an outdoor extension cable. In scenarios where you want the misting feature the length of your hose is the largest limiting factor. The one thing Shark needs to add to future versions is Wifi or Bluetooth connectivity as I want to tie the fan into my home automation technology. Walking into the gym and asking Alexa to Start a workout feels incomplete when she can turn on the lights, start a workout playlist, but she’s unable to power on the fan that keeps the room cool. Connecting the fan to a smart power switch that allows the switch to be powered on or off is not helpful as the device doesn’t automatically power on when it’s plugged in. On several occasions I’ve already forgotten to turn it off only to come back hours later to find it’s still running. On the other hand I guess that just speaks to how quiet the unit is when it’s running.
TLDR - The Shark FlexBreeze is an impressive portable fan, boasting features like misting for extra cooling.Pros:- Portability: The FlexBreeze is a breeze to carry around, thanks to its built-in battery and detachable design. Even without its base stand, it stands on its own on four legs, making it super convenient for on-the-go use. It's not too heavy at around 14 pounds and has a small footprint, so it's easy to move around.- Design: The design is smartly crafted for easy assembly and disassembly, making it perfect for travel. Plus, the magnetic remote control is user-friendly.- Feature-filled: With its oscillation and adjustable angle, you can place the fan wherever you need it without any hassle. And let's not forget about the misting feature, which really ... MoreTLDR - The Shark FlexBreeze is an impressive portable fan, boasting features like misting for extra cooling.Pros:- Portability: The FlexBreeze is a breeze to carry around, thanks to its built-in battery and detachable design. And let's not forget about the misting feature, which really amps up its cooling power in hot weather.- Performance: Despite its compact size, the FlexBreeze pumps out a good amount of air while remaining relatively quiet, even on the highest settings. Compared to my non-portable fans, it's more efficient and quieter, making it my go-to for most situations!Cons:- Charging Port: The biggest downside is that the charging port is located on the circular base stand. This means if you're using the fan without the base, you can't charge it. It's a bit of an oversight, but forgivable considering the good battery life. Hopefully, future versions will have a charging port on the fan itself.- Charging Time: Charging the FlexBreeze takes a while, upwards of 4 hours if the battery is almost empty. You'll need to plan ahead if you're taking it on the go to ensure it's fully charged for optimal use.- Misting: Currently, the misting feature only works with water hoses, limiting its usability unless you get creative with reservoir connections.Overall, I highly recommend the Shark FlexBreeze for its portability and performance. It's a powerful fan that's easy to move and operates quietly. Plus, the oscillation and misting features really take its cooling abilities to the next level!
After the unbearable heat of the last Summer in Texas I have been looking for ways to keep cool and take back my backyard from the lack of use that it experienced. The Shark FlexBreeze is what I believe is going to be my best shot as it creeps back into the high 80s in early March. This is a floor fan with a couple amazing tricks up its sleeve. Namely that the fan portion (separate from the stand) has a built-in battery so you can move it to where you need it without cables (tripping hazards!) and the attachment which has nozzles which spray a fine mist of water that can be carried with the breeze. I will just say that the breeze with the mist feels amazing! I positioned mine to be in the corner of my patio where I helpfully had a plug and access to a water hose. ... MoreAfter the unbearable heat of the last Summer in Texas I have been looking for ways to keep cool and take back my backyard from the lack of use that it experienced. I will just say that the breeze with the mist feels amazing! I positioned mine to be in the corner of my patio where I helpfully had a plug and access to a water hose. Overall, the design is muted and stylish which I find perfect as this unit is most likely going to live outdoors and you sort of want it to blend in with the surroundings. The materials are made to hold up to the sun and rain and not degrade and overall, the unit and base feel pretty durable. The fan has a remote which attaches magnetically to the back of the fan for storage and I thought it was sufficiently strong to hold the remote in place to avoid loosing it which is important There are buttons along the top of the fan for powering it on, adjusting the speed and adjusting the oscillation up to 180 degrees. Pressing the locking button on the stand below the fan enables you to detach the fan from the charging base and from there you can flip the feet out for tabletop use or on the go.I am looking forward to having this as an option for hot days at the dog park picnic table when there is no breeze and I’m able to bring this unit along. Similarly for around the house it’s very convenient to not have to run an extension cable to get a fan where you need one. The battery life has been great and lasts a full 24 hours as they stated on low speed which is great for just personal or shared use for 2 people. The fan has 5 levels of speed and a boost option when you really need to cool down. The other great thing that surprised me is how quiet this fan is. You only barely start to hear it in the higher speeds and when it’s in boost mode. On low speeds it is completely quiet but still very effective.Overall, Shark has built a very versatile product that addresses nearly every pain point I have ever experienced with other fans – difficult to reposition, cable is a trip hazard, breeze isn’t strong enough, no remote, etc. If you are looking for a fan (that is more than just a fan) and would appreciate the convenience of something that is battery powered with the extra misting ability to cool even more effectively I would definitely give this one a shot!
This is a very cool little fan, which is surprisingly powerful for its size. Aside from the actual unit, the packaging offers good protection so if you need to get it shipped, shouldn't have any problems with damage. The unit itself comes in pieces you need to assemble. Part of the pole is actually the base to convert this to a table top unit, pretty ingenious. Before using the unit for the first time it should be charged for a minimum of 8 hours, regardless of what the battery strength indicator says. After about 3 minutes of assembly and a quick look at the directions you are ready to go. Not only does this work as a rechargeable unit it will also operate as a corded unit. Not only does this work as a rechargeable unit it will also operate as a corded unit. I like the option just in case I have access to power which gives me flexibility if I need to move the unit elsewhere without power the same day. I actually had this happen based on how my house hides the sum from the deck, but it was still hot in the later afternoon.Using without the mist option it is pretty much a regular fan. However using the mist option turns it into a cooling powerhouse. The mist is very fine and given the right hose pressure is barely noticeable. This will be great at those middle of summer little league games. Battery run time is estimate at up to 24 hours but on level one. At that setting I would expect too much, but I don't imagine needing to run this more than a couple hours at a time where there is no electricity option or recharge option. The mist option is an easily attachable unit with what almost looks like carb jets to create a fine mist by attaching any standard garden hose. The mist, on the highest setting has an effective range for me of about 25 -30 feet, your surrounding conditions (wind) will ultimately effect this. The oscillating feature will increase the effective area by spreading the mist over a larger area. This is a very cool feature and for that reason I would definitely recommend this. The unit, even at high speed, is very quiet, maybe even too quiet to sleep to ?The remote is easily stored, magnetically, on the back of the motor head so you won't lose track of it.
Shark makes quality products so it's no surprise this Flexbreeze fan works the way it's advertised. Comes ready-to-go right out of the box, with a minor snap together pole and screw into base. The fan itself can be used independent of the base with its built-in 4 leg tripod and either battery power or plugged in. The cool mist head attaches magnetically to the front of the fan and the water transfer tube comes with a shut-off bypass valve and connects to a standard garden hose. It has a simple 3 button control on top of the unit with LED indicators on front for battery, fan speed, and degree of oscillation. It also comes with a mini remote that works up to 70ft away in direct line of sight; if it's oscillating, you must wait for it to face you in order to use the ... MoreShark makes quality products so it's no surprise this Flexbreeze fan works the way it's advertised. It also comes with a mini remote that works up to 70ft away in direct line of sight; if it's oscillating, you must wait for it to face you in order to use the remote. The remote allows a few extra features like boost button and fixed direction adjustment, along with toggles for the 5 speeds and the 3 swaths of oscillation. The remote is small and could be misplaced; Shark remedy's this by having a dedicated spot behind the fan where it magnetically locks into a special groove thus keeping it safe.I like the sturdiness of both the weighted base and the portable tripod, it doesn't feel flimsy. The cowling around the fan gives the wind a targeted path to wherever it's pointing, concentrating and amplifying the speed even on the lowest setting. This should also help with outdoor cross breezes to prevent the choppy sound at the blade tips. The cool mist attachment simulates air conditioning outdoors carrying the water droplets with the wind. The 2 mist nozzles are adjustable and can vary the size of the droplets to your desire. I haven't tried the mist on boost mode but measured an effective distance of 40ft on level 5 before the mist dissipated.Battery life is actually quite good and is dependent on speed/oscillation. It lasts as much as 27hrs on level 1 in fixed direction or as little as 75 minutes on boost with oscillation. The sweet spot is level 3 with oscillation at 9hrs allowing you all day usage. The best part is the mist function has no impact on battery.Downsides to the unit is when using the mist, you can't oscillate unless on the base as the hose tends to limit the unit when on the tripod. The misting unit can't work off a portable tank since it requires a pressurized line. This is an awesome fan that's 2 units in 1 and incorporating a cooling mist function that requires zero clean-up time is an added value. I would especially recommend this to anyone living where it can get hot.
There are many different types of fans on the market, to the point that you can find one that will fit your niche needs. This may be the exact fan you are looking for, if you are someone looking for a portable fan, or a near silent one, or one with a more focused breeze than spread out. While this fan may not be for everyone, it does a good job in many categories. To start, the closest stationary alternative is a pedestal fan. It can be extremely quiet while still moving air and almost 10 feet away in a room. This is perfect for those that need the silence but need a breeze. Where this excels over a pedestal fan is its ability to carry the breeze at one direction. Because of it's shape and housing, the area of effect is smaller. This is both a good and bad. Where this excels over a pedestal fan is its ability to carry the breeze at one direction. Because of it's shape and housing, the area of effect is smaller. This is both a good and bad. You get more air movement when in it's path and it feels great. However if you move a lot like say working around a table then it is much less effective. More than anything, I found the portability to be its best perk. being able to carry this out into the garage to do some work, and then bring it back inside to the exercise room, and then back outside to relax in the garden is extremely convenient. While not the most portable for road trips since it does have an awkward shape when out, it can still work if you want to take this camping for example. The unit comes with a wireless remote control, which sticks to the back with a magnet. It is pretty strong so you do not have to worry about it falling off during transport. The mist attachment is very niche though. It does lower the temperature by quite a bit, but you also get more wet. For the price it is at, it is a little disappointing it does not have a sleep function. That is something I find extremely useful before going to bed and nearly every fan I've owned has this function.Overall, I am quite satisfied with this product and can see many uses for it in the future and upcoming summer months. As with all things, there are always weak points for reliability and for this product I am most worried about the battery. The fan does not use a lot of power so it's not a huge concern, but one does wonder how smart the program is to maintain a state of charge that does not drain the battery for being plugged in all the time.
