it is a nice microwave and is easy to use. It is quieter than my last microwave. The inside is a bit smaller than expected but all the cookware that I have for this fit just fine. The oven seems a bit "hotter" than the one I had before so I am adjusting to that. I would like for the cooking time light on the outside to be green or blue rather than bright white, easier on the eyes.

This unit is the same make and model that I previously had for quite awhile (5+ yrs), which was just the right price, size, and color (white) that I wanted. The buttons quit working properly so it was time for a new one. There are fancier models but this one works for my purpose. Oh, they upgraded (enlarged) the glass plate, so there's that.

I thought, this was identical to the good value and long lasting previous similar Sharps model. Two things, I don't like. 1. Noisy-- loud cranking sounds, as carousel turns. And, insufficient sound proofing - VERY loud and disturbing background hum. 2. Grey interior makes it impossible to see when water is boiling, despite light. Previous interior was white. Lazy, not to have painted the interior.

So far so good! It fits perfectly in our spot! It has more power than our old one plus it is quieter than our old Sharp. My husband even likes it better.I do wish it had a white door like our old one did. It is more difficult to keep the black door from finger prints. It looks nice.
I replaced my almost 15 year old 1,200-watt Sharp Carousel with this newer, smaller 1,000-watt model (SMC1161HB). I was nervous when I ordered it because I thought it would be significantly less powerful, but it isn't. It heated a large dinner plate evenly in less time than my older microwave. The buttons are responsive. It also doesn't slide around like other microwaves I have seen at stores, which can be annoying when you attempt to open the microwave door. If you are looking for a powerful yet simple microwave, this may be the one.

The interior light while bright is obscured due to the design of the interior cavity; good intention, poor design. The display led is much brighter than necessary (or desirable) and illuminates my entire kitchen more than a nightlight would. Sharp should have made it dimmable. On the plus side it does run quietly in my opinion and the overly-loud key-press and end-of-cycle beeping can easily be enabled or disabled. The cost was reasonable and at 1000 watts seems powerful enough. It will accommodate a dinner plate. This is my second purchase of a Sharp microwave. My first one lasted about 15 years. Also,we bought a house that had a Sharp microwave and so far we have had it for 15 years and I don’t know the age of it. Both older products were well designed and we couldn’t be happier. The only reason we gave 4 stars is that we don’t care for the 5 beeps when it is finished. Three beeps spaced further apart would be better as it is pretty loud.
I researched microwaves before purchasing this Sharp model. The only thing it doesn’t have that I would have liked, is the keep warm function. For the price, it is a really good microwave. The dark interior looks nice, but is kind of hard to see inside when using. Hopefully it will last as long as my last one did (different brand).

We bought this Sharp countertop model because we had been happy with a previous Sharp over-the-stove model in our house that had lasted for a very long time. We are also happy with this new Sharp purchase and the instructions were helpful with the set-up. Our new Sharp microwave works great: very quiet, easy to use controls, heats up evenly, looks nice.
