Small and compact to carry and very well made although so far I have only used on my chef knives where I have been more than happy with the performance. For camping I really like the extras of a fire starter and the whistle which hopefully I won't need but from my testing both work and the whistle is not only loud close up can be heard over a long distance. Much better than I expected and a wonderful addition to a camping pack or a cooking trip which potentially requires knives to be sharpened! Useful in the home too! Highly recommended!

Compact, handy, very well-made, and it WORKS FANTASTIC! Simple to use, couple of swipes and blade is razor sharp. This little gadget also has a fire starter on it that actually works! Two pulls to get the coating off the rod, and the 3rd pull ignited the shavings! The rod stays firmly in place when not use. The little whistle is loud enough that you should probably use hearing protection, great for emergency use. I'll be ordering more for the emergency kits. This is a no brainer!

I've used similar "pocket" sharpeners like this over the years. So far this one this one is the best yet. When I first got it, I of course tried to sharpen a knife with it. It was a Swiss Army Knife I use around the house. I use it practically daily, especially for opening tough product packaging. Since I used the sharpener on it, I've severely cut myself four times with this knife. So I have to say, yes, it did a great job of sharpening. Plus you get a whistle and a fire-steel included on it as a bonus. I will probably pick up a few more of these, so I can put one with my camping gear, one in my truck, maybe a couple as gifts...
I liked the size of the sharpener and the 6 in 1 features. Tried them all and they worked as advertised. Was able to resharpen my Gerber pocket knives in no time.
Good but not as good as the lansky. Has additional fire starter rod but thats it. Just doesnt sharpen as sharp in my opinion. The sharpening rod uses friction to lock in place. This will wear out over time. The lansky is magnetic and wont wear out. It will stick to key rings and stuff though. Cant really go wrong with either, but i prefer the lansky over this sharpal.
I purchased the Sharpal knife sharpener to keep in my fishing tackle box. The sharpener works very well. It put a razor sharp edge on my knife in just a few swipes. The hook sharpener is very handy for my favorite lures. I plan on using the fire starter when I go catfishing on cool nights. The emergency whistle is quite loud with a sharp piercing sound that can be heard from far away if you're ever stranded, lost or being attacked. I am very pleased with this purchase and I'm sure it will get lots of use.
Best take anywhere sharpening multi -tool Ive been using for years. Nice and easy to find with the bright orange, Good grip on the handle, really long lasting file and flint. sharpens my knives, machettes, srew drivers, to a precision edge.Great product !!
