Perfect for quick marks on Shipping boxes.Anyone who has worked in food service, or any retail with promotional items knows the need to have proper stock rotation. This marker is a perfect assist with that. It makes a Bold (broad) enough mark to read across the room. The product lasts for a long time. However it is a little bulky to write with, so simple slash marks are your best bet.I recommend this product, see [tip: below][Tip: Mark all existing boxes with a Slash, your new stock will not have the slash. Once you open a case, add another slash to the box, creating an X. Train new employees to look for the box with the X. Instant stock management. It is also a quick way to visually see how fast you go through stock items.]

Handy for quickly blotting out print from paper items, before recycling, etc. (n.b. the "blacked-out" print may still be visible under the light. But, this is gnerally true for any "felt tip ink marker" methodology). The Sharpie Cap may be hard to pull off (but a "tight seal" peserves the moist felt tip). The MAGNUM seems a bit "pricey" (compared to similar jumbo markers). Thankfully there is minimal "chemical smell" (unlike the BIC marker).

The Sharpie Magnum Permanent Marker offers a larger 1/2" x 3/8" tip for writing. The wide nib allows a person to write wide and bold while the tip provides for more narrower writing. The color is vibrant and the marker does not bleed. The Magnum writes smoothly and does not have an offensive odor. I have been using this marker to create signs for our business and scrapbooking. My daughter has used it to make covers for her reports for school. The Magnum is very versatile; you will find an endless list of things you can use it for. I highly recommend the Magnum Marker.

CORRECTION: I changed to 5 stars because my complaint about the tight cap below probably DOES NOT apply to ALL of these markers like they did to the first one I happened to use. Today it occurred to me that the one I'd been using might happen to be a "LEMON", which it WAS. I didn't test all 11 of the other markers, but tried 3 or 4 others & none of them had a problem so, in all fairness, I'm redoing my review. The color is a rich, bright red & spreads smoothly. I like that you can write with the pointed tip if you want a skinnier line. Cap snaps back on easily & tightly to avoid drying-out the ink. BUT, on the first one I used, THE OVAL SHAPE MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THE CAP. Because I try to avoid accidentally painting PERMANENT red ink onto my hand or shirt as ... MoreCORRECTION: I changed to 5 stars because my complaint about the tight cap below probably DOES NOT apply to ALL of these markers like they did to the first one I happened to use. I like that you can write with the pointed tip if you want a skinnier line. Cap snaps back on easily & tightly to avoid drying-out the ink. BUT, on the first one I used, THE OVAL SHAPE MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THE CAP. Because I try to avoid accidentally painting PERMANENT red ink onto my hand or shirt as the cap finally & SUDDENLY popped off, I was careful when removing it, so it took 5-6 seconds to remove, which was aggravating. I have STRONG hands, but I think it's the slickness of the plastic cap (maybe add a smidgen of TEXTURE??) combined with the SHAPE of the cap with ALL CURVED, very smooth contours that makes it DIFFICULT TO GET A GOOD GRIP (maybe change the OUTSIDE cap contours to add an angle or two?). UPDATE: Sharpies do write on almost anything, but be careful if you write on a non-absorbent surface----I used this one ON A PLASTIC BAG & the ink (which normally dries very quickly) took several minutes to dry, which meant the wet ink transferred onto another surface & stained it. So give it plenty of time to dry before you put it down on, or next to, something you don't want any ink on!!
We have come to expect perfect quality off the Sharpie brand name. These markers are no exception. We use these for two purposes: 1) marking packages that require exceptions in their handling, at s major handling hub. This is the marker of choice; bold, easily applied to virtually any surface, permanent and clean. 2) In a custom metal machining operation, these markers are replacing brush applied liquid dyes in many marking, setup operations. While the color is not as intense, and the coating not as robust, the application is very quick and simple, while the marking and layout qualities are sufficient for many operations. Overall, these are quality products and the price is excellent too.
This is my favorite Sharpie. I order one per month, Because I like them so much that I use them for like everything. To mark out my name on junk mail, to mark out shredded papers, to mark out boxes, to label this. This is such a universal Marker that I usually run out of ink before I can order a new Sharpie each month.
Bought two of these markers for presentation. They worked great. Easy to use. They lasted for the whole presentation with caps off many times. Able to create thick and thin lines. Will purchase again when needed. These have not dried up yet.
This jumbo sized permanent marker from Sanford features a distinctive crush-proof case in brushed aluminum and a similarly resilient and durable plastic cap with a pocket clip for on-the-go convenience. The barrel is widened and flat for a natural free movement when writing. I found this feature to be one of the most enjoyable things about using this product. The blunt chiseled tip of the marker itself is by far the best part about this marker. It's the perfect length and texture to allow for easy writing. The angle at which the chiseled tip and the body of the marker is a perfect example that the this product was designed with intelligence and comfort for frequent use in mind. I found it impressive how the permanent ink is balanced so well with the marker's tip ... MoreThis jumbo sized permanent marker from Sanford features a distinctive crush-proof case in brushed aluminum and a similarly resilient and durable plastic cap with a pocket clip for on-the-go convenience. I found it impressive how the permanent ink is balanced so well with the marker's tip material that it distributes clean pitch black lines consistently throughout repeated uses. The ink doesn't dry out prematurely in the pen and maintains its integrity through time if capped appropriately. It can write on just about any surface that accepts adhesive ink. The ink itself is highly adhesive and dries extremely fast when applied onto a surface, seemingly almost upon application. This is a must have item given its super-size font and bold color. It makes writing a breeze!
What's not to like! Recently while my wife was painting with Ultra White Exterior Latex (during this very hot summer weather - about 94 degrees in the shade), I brushed up against some wet paint without realizing it. Of course it hardened unnoticed & left half a 1/4" wide dozen spots no more than 3/8" long each in a line across the front of my graduated (shaded top to bottom) orange color & black dotted Speedo swim trunks. Ouch! My favorites! I planned to wear those to the beach :-) No amount of soaking, light scrubbing and washing would get the paint off. G-r-r-r-r. Rather than downgrade them into a hot weather painting outfit I happened to think of using the orange Sharpie permanent marker. Nothing to lose! Anyways, it worked! They have been worn and cold water washed then warm dryer dried multiple times over the last month and STILL the marker has not come off! Yay Sharpie! Saved my fashion summer ;-) This fabric is 100% polyester and actually has the design printed onto it
I use this marker to block personal information onshipping boxes & packagesI've broken down to put in recycle. I don't like people in the condo community knowing I ordered what from who as anyone can steal this information. I just use this marker and it does the trick, including blacking out the bar codes - darkly/permanently.
