The Sharpie oil-based paint markers are my favorite paint markers. They flow nice and smooth and don't dry out if you don't use them for a little while (couple of months). I've used them on so many different types of surfaces and they've worked on all of them. The colors are bright and opaque. Sometimes, If you don't shake it well enough, it can come out somewhat transparent, but as long as you make sure to shake good, it's perfect. You can find these on Amazon sometimes for a lower price too. I love these and will continue buying them for as long as they keep making them.

Extra fine tip by Sharpie and Craftsmart both fail

Tested drawing lines on white envelope first, all was very good. Started using it on partially missing silver lettering on a fabric book cover. Paint did not come out. Maybe pen tip got clogged with fabric dust. Cleaned tip, did not help. Only Craftsmart thick chisel point paint pen worked properly.

Fantastic on dark surfaces - but having some issue

I bought these to use on dark colors, and so far they are great. They are very opaque so they don't get lost on a dark surface, but are a little harder to see on a light surface. They are also very smooth, with a finer point than markers. Unfortunately I'm having some issues with the silver one leaking. When I used them the first time there were no issues, but just now when I tried to write something to make a photo for this review, I started getting large drops of paint. I cleaned the tip and tried again with the same issue (which you can see on the review photo). I cleaned it again and made sure the spring loaded part for priming wasn't stuck (it was not) and tried again with a little better result, but in the mean time, I've lost a lot of paint out of that ... MoreI bought these to use on dark colors, and so far they are great. Marker Mistake
27 December 2022

I bought this two-pack Sharpie metallic marker package to write and address holiday cards. Each marker is individually sealed and then packaged. Unfortunately, neither the store associate nor I saw that the package and one of the markers had been opened and was completely dried up. While the other marker was still sealed, I had to shake it frequently to get the metallic paint to work smoothly. I would have gone back to the office supply store with the receipt for a return/exchange, however, I needed to get the cards addressed and in the mail. Additionally, I took the last package - now I know why it was still on the shelf.

Perfect for glass calendar!
2 May 2022

Purchased specifically to use on a glass calendar. Dry erase and basic chalk markers would not work at all for me. These however are excellent so far!! They show up wonderfully and are incredibly easy to write with. No smudging etc. They were ever so slightly difficult to get started. I followed the steps given just had to go through those steps 2-3 times before they finally worked. If you can’t get them started the first try just keep doing it! That didn’t bother me at all. I’d highly recommend these! I’m going to have to try and find some plain black ones from the same brand. Hopefully they make them!

Snowballed my creative process!
7 July 2022

I bought these sharpie paint markers when I was in a fine art painting class. These markers allowed me to get the results I was looking for, handwritten doodles all over the canvas which paint and a paint brush was not giving me. I covered in layers of doodles with these markers, painted sheer craft paint over it and layered and layered until the color’s vibrated the way I wanted them too. These markers are affordable, they are easy to use and easy to get good flow from. They inspired me to do a whole body of work based off my doodles. I still use them all the time even though I have found a few new types of paint makers. These are my basic go to, beginner friendly paint markers. I am so glad I found them when I did and had them to lead me to the creative ... MoreI bought these sharpie paint markers when I was in a fine art painting class. Steady flow!
3 August 2020

These are so handy for so many things and I have so many craft ideas just flowing out of my head. Before I start a more detailed project I wanted to get the hang of the paint flow and practice first. I like how they kept the concept of these sharpies simple. Not to bulky and easy to hold and grip while writing. It took a bit of shaking and pressing down to get the paint flow going and I kept the package and a piece of cardboard handy to lay my sharpie on in between colors. I got the set of five and each sharpie was individually wrapped. So to get started I had some planter tags I wanted to place in my garden. Just thought it would be a cute added touch. I tried all of the colors but I didn't use the white since my tags are white. I really liked how I had control over my writing and the paint flowed steadily out without dripping and dried almost instantly. Also the paint was much brighter and bold than I thought it would be. Now that my first experience went so well I will definitely use these for the rest of my craft projects. I want to try some mugs next as gifts. I highly recommend these paints for drying fast and water resistant!

The item you didn’t know you needed
9 January 2021

Who would need a glitter paint pen? Well, apparently me!I don’t understand it but with an ultra-fine tip, lots of sparkle and some brilliant colors, this pen set became my favorite to add a little something extra. The paint goes on thick and you can feel it slightly raised on the surface. It writes on almost anything but on non-porous surfaces it needs about 30 seconds to dry so it doesn’t smear. It can be cleaned off of these hard surfaces. If you use it on something hard that will be rubbed a lot, it will wear of. For example, I used these pens on a holiday popcorn tin container. Once dried, I could handle the painted section and it was fine. But if I took my nail, I could start to scrape off the design.I’ve included a few photos. Paint on metal and plastic, paint on paper angled to light to show sparkle, paint on paper overlapping colors to see what would happen. The performance on metal and plastic was good after 30 seconds drying.Paper performance was great. You might notice a little dripping from one of the colors. This was user error, I had just started to saturate the tip on its first use and I got a little spatter. Once the tip is saturated, the color stayed exactly where you put it.

This Purchase Should Have Been Better
21 March 2023

I needed a single white paint pen for a one time use project on a metal surface. At Office Depot, they only had sets of various colors and a minimum of 4. I searched carefully, thinking that surely I could just get a single or maybe double set. But no. The set cost me over $17. I had to buy the product and it worked perfectly. I will probably never use any of the 4 items again. I resent having to pay a premium for items and quantities I did not need. I will find another way & another business when I need such items in the future. That includes paper products, pens, computer ink, etc. I'll just find another way.

UNWRAP AND PRIME FIRST AND YOULL LOVE THE RESULTS!
23 January 2023

The plastic wrap is annoying on each pen, but i can assume its for protection from leaks perhaps. Once you figure out how to get the paint to the tip it worked pretty well, but one pen never worked. The color is good and the lines are perhaps a lot thinner than the prn size leads you to believe. It worked decently writing on a wall slightly above my head level. The depth of the color is solid.PS. This was done at Angry Crab where they encourage wall art.
