I have been waiting for this type of computer for a looooong time! I just put the first two dives on it. There are several things I like about it. One is the display. It is very customizable and it is ALWAYS lighted. I spend a lot of time in the Florida springs and caverns where it is dark and I have my hands full - I usually carry a camera with strobes and lights and it is hard to light up a traditional computer while doing video or stills in the dark. If you dive springs or caverns, or if you do night or wreck diving you will love the display. Also I am no tech diver but I do dabble in extended range, multi gas, and deco diving. So although this computer DOES have a recreational Air mode and a recreational Nitrox (single gas to 40%) mode, the Three Gas Nitrox mode is where it shines. No helium for trimix, but you can program in three nitrox gases (to 100%) from which to choose. You can plan deco and dive it, switching gas as needed. There are three preset level of deco conservatism from which you can choose OR you can learn about gradient factors and program in your own. On a non-deco dive if you exceed NDL, the computer will whip up a deco schedule for you (better have the gas to execute it!) This computer will never “lock out” no matter how badly you abuse a decompression profile. And the unit is sealed. It has wireless charging (works great) and bluetooth so you never have to break into it and maybe cause leaks. It is lightweight and very compact. Overall I would call this a “rec tech” or maybe “intro to tech” dive computer. And it is half the price of the full-up tech dive computers. So far, a LOT to like and nothing not to like…..

While this is the first dive computer I've owned, I'm excited to carry this me on dives for years, and even into the early tech side of things. The display is bright and eminently readable in all conditions, while also being well organized and quite customizable, so you have access to a tremendous deal of information as you complete your dive. Haptic alerts that I feel even through 7ml wetsuits and drysuits with big undergarments means I don't have this computer pinging the wildlife and confusing my dive buddies, but still can gather key information like depth alerts and safety stop progression.Bluetooth connections and wireless charging are great points. I've completed 27 dives with this computer, so it's hard for me to say how long the battery will ultimately hold up, but it seems I would be able to get 10 or more dives out of a single charge if I were to push it, although I charge it every night.Simple two-button design, which can still vex my brain from time to time, but is generally very easy to navigate and definitely easy to operate with 7ml gloves.Perhaps the one drawback, if it can be called that, is that there is no air integration of any kind. I've never had AI, so maybe it's a matter of "I don't know what I'm missing," but... I'm okay with checking my SPG. I ditched the strap for the bungees.

Upgraded my dive computer to the Teric so I could benefit from air integration. Glad I did! The Teric performed flawlessly on our recent scuba holiday. Screen is easy to read underwater and was the envy of fellow divers. Air integration worked well with no loss of signal on any of the dives we did. We did a deeper dive and the Teric gave clear deco warnings which could be noted and then cleared with the push of a button. It is very easy to navigate through menus and settings. The only slight criticism I have is that the vibration alert is not very strong. I was wearing a shorty and even then I sometimes missed the alert. I think it would be almost imperceptible through a wetsuit with sleeves. Battery life was more than adequate. We did 3 dives on some days. My wife & I used Veo computers for many years and I always struggled to (1) change the battery without flooding it, and (2) easily set Nitrox percentage. Finally, on a recent trip, four out of five Veo's died among three divers and I looked for a replacement that was sealed with no openings and no battery to change. The Peregrine fit my needs and I bought two; one for my wife and one for me. We both reacted the same way after our first trip - we love it. Set up is easy. It is easy to read and presents exactly the information we need during and after a dive.I prefer a console mounted setup, so used the Shearwater console and set it up on a hose with a quick disconnect so the computer could be removed to charging, travel, and storage. I have now used this on 30 dives in Mexico. Reefs and Cenote, mostly Nitrox, some 4 dives a day. The Peregrine is great. It's very easy to use. For me the readability is the best feature. It has a large screen with large characters (for my old eyes). It was also perfectly readable in the boat in full sun and 100 feet down in a cenote (cavern). Rechargeable battery works fine. I used the Shearwater cloud to transfer the data to my dive log. This also works well. I had a couple of questions, contacted Shearwater, and they got back to me in under 24 hours with detailed responses. I wish it had air integration and a compass, but at a third of the price of the AI Perdix 2, this was a better fit for my budget. I don't think there's a better value in dive computer.
Shearwater peregrine is a brilliant dive computer great for beginner divers as well as experienced divers. I got this computer as I was interested in it’s deco features and multi-gas features. There are many features which allows you to take your diving to the next level safely.Just a side note: the white strap that comes with the shearwater peregrine isn’t long enough to go over your drysuit which sucks. It would be long enough to go over your wetsuit. But you are given enough green bungee to use as a double strap over your drysuit which actually looks really cool in the turquoise green colour which I have done. You have to buy the longer drysuit white strap separately if this is what you would prefer to use.
This was bought after much deliberation, online research, trying out other computers and asking the staff at Mike’s a pile of questions. It is everyone I was looking for. Versatile and easy to use with a great, easily readable display. So much so that my wife abandoned her i200C and took my Peregrine. So, back to Mike’s for a second one! Well worth the money.
Superb dive computer. Easy to read and operate. Only one tiny problem. In the UK many people don't do safety stops at 3m. To change this you need to be in the 3 gas mode and then you can set minimum stop to 6m. If you have the other 2 gases off then it acts the same as single gas setting so is no problem. Wish I had bought this computer a few years ago!
I bought the Teric as a backup to my Shearwater Perdix for open-circuit diving. Configuring options for the type of diving you want to do is easy without resorting to the manual (if you're an experienced diver). The display is bright, crisp and large and vibrating and audible alarms useful. I will make this my primary for open-circuit diving. It's a great piece of kit.
This dive computer has changed my diving (and post diving). Its array of features, intuitive menus allow for monitoring of key aspects of the dive, ensuring I can negate any dive stress before completing a dive which equals no more post dive tiredness. Battery life in reality is better than advertised with over 40 hours on a single charge. I purchased the Teric with a swift AI transmitter and am able to monitor SAC and GTR easily throughout the dive and look back at the dive with the Shearwater cloud app.
