I already had one Nasci and I loved it - smooth, solid, and not too heavy. I went to get a Quantum Vapor that was on sale from $180 down to $140. I compared it to the Nasci FC and it wasn't as smooth, and was heavier. I also prefer the slimmer handle on the Nasci. I also compared it to other reels that were between $100-200 and liked the Nasci over all of them. I ended up buying a second Nasci even though it wasn't on sale. Get it, you won't regret it.

I own several NACI versions of the Sedona 2500 and I own several standard Sedona 2500s.I fund them versatile and durable but rhe NACI version is excellent if you tend to be hard on your equipment like I am. I leave my equipment in my boat year round d through rain, snow , heat etc and found that the NACI version lasts twice as long as the standard 2500 version before you begin to have performance issues with smoothness of retrieving

I ordered two Nasci 3000s from Tackle direct on Friday morning. UPS said they would be here on Monday, but they arrived two days early on Saturday morning…WOW!!!! I went fishing on the Chesapeake on Sunday. These reels are paired with Shimano 7ft 6in GLF Med/Hvy rods with 15lb Power Pro Slick line with 20lb Yo-Zuri Super Know leader. I was throwing a Aqua Dream 1/2oz spoon on one rod and a Zman DieZel minnow on a Zman 3/8oz Redfish eye. These reels are super smooth and holds plenty of braid. The drag is very powerful. They are extremely quiet. They are super affordable as well. For the price of one Stradic, you can buy two of these. Comparing these to a Stradic, they are very close

I use this reel on a 7'1" medium rod for throwing size 2, 3 and 4 Mepps inline spinners for bass in fresh water. Those baits are just a little too light for a casting setup. It has worked fine for this purpose. Like all shimanos, it is silky smooth...but I think the slightly cheaper Sedona is just as smooth, but the Nasci is probably a little more water proof and longer lasting. I guess time will tell. If your reel never gets wet, salty, or sandy, I would recommend saving a few bucks and getting a Sedona. And lastly, the bail wire feels very thin, but this is true of every shimano. If you are used to brands like Daiwa or penn, the thin bail wire may make it feel like a cheaper quality reel, but I have never had one bend or break so I guess they are plenty strong enough.
I have to admit I was skeptical of the shimano products, but after much feedback and consideration I purchased a 500 size as I love fishing for trout, crappie and perch here in the north east. The drive train feels like it had an upgrade, I love the refreshed look and it had a more modern and lighter feel to the reel. One thing I really do appreciate about this new reel is how well it performed in very cold weather, wading situations where you could find yourself dunking the reel or getting it dirty with mud and gravel, and how easy it is to maintain, take apart and clean. I’m confident that this reel will hold up very well with proper care, and I’m very happy with what Shimano has brought to the table.
I was excited about getting this new liitle reel, I have the olderModel and love it. I use it for ice fishing and creek trout fishing with 4# braid, unfortunately when you cast and then close the bail the line fails to make it to the roller and gets hung up on the arm. Never had this issue before but, its very frustrating, build and drag is as expected from Shimano but, this issue should be addressed. Looks like the larger sizes have no issues but the 500 does. Ended up using it for ice fishing with light flouro were line management is much easier.
The Nasci 3000 so far has been fantastic. I have been using the Nasci reels for a number of years now and love them. for the price point they are greatand I highly recommend them. It has caught me many good sized fish so far including my PB Jack at 62.5cm giving the drag a great work out
Purchased for coastal inshore fishing this summer. Have not used it yet. Quality & function seem to be acceptable, EXCEPT there is no lever or switch stop the anti reverse to enable back reeling. This is sometimes necessary when playing some larger fish. Not having that feature on a reel in this price range is disappointing.Otherwise, Karl's pricing is competitive & shipping was pretty good.
Super smooth little reel with nice neutral colours and finishes. The screw-in handle is solid as and also really enjoying using the paddle style handle.More than enough drag and overall package feels plenty strong for the types of rod you would pair this with. This was the only reel around this price point which actually felt any good in the hand when I was comparing in-store.
What a inshore reel! I paired this reel with an older medium fast rod. Catching Redfish, Snook and whatever else bites. The simplicity of adjusting the drag while landing a catch is as wonderful as accurately casting 60 yards waddling the flats here in Southwest Florida. This reel is so strong to be so light, I’m fishing an hour longer these days because I’m not tiring as easily as I was with the heavier reel I was using.
