I've used this headset in 90% dry conditions, about 2700km. It started creaking recently and there's no way of taking apart the bearings in order to service it. It would be fine for occasional cycling but they're not built to last, I'd recommend more expensive products for any more serious instead of having to swap out bottom brackets multiple times a year.

I had the same bottom bracket on my bike since I bought it in 2013. I put over 10,000 km on it with year round riding before it developed a creak. I just purchased the same again because that seems like a great value. The Ultegra version is also available for not much more. It might be worth considering if you want a black colour scheme, but I don't feel it's going to do much better.

Very good product, arrived in just a few weeks. Everything impeccable in the box, very well wrapped against damage. The product is excellent, the change in pedaling is immediately noticeable. It had a pretty old engine and the change was brutal.
Replaced my stock square taper heavy BB with this super light hallowtech 2 BB along with Sora R3000 Crankset. Good performance and looks sleek.
I had stopped the old BB for new bearings, however when I say and thought about it, it was less than £10 difference for a complete new unit with fresh seals. This unit is plug and play and of course works as it should.

It's interesting to read some people's views on this product and the unfortunate experience they have had. Mine have been excellent. To date i have put 18,000 miles on mine and it is still going fine. During that time around every 5000 miles I dismantle the interior which can be difficult to do and re grease the bearings. I have also replaced the bearings on this model for a friend which i purchased on e bay for a fiver. I have also put ceramic bearing in these. I think this is a superb product
