Broke my lever, and had to buy a whole new master cylinder. Apparently Shimano are no longer bringing the brake blade into Aus. Look online for brake lever blades. This brake lever is exactly as described, I have no issue with this part. Just annoyed at Shimano. I thought we were trying to save the planet with less waste. Spent $80 getting a $15 part

Awesome brakes!

These look great and work great too! Easy to install with the hoses already primed with brake fluid. Make sure you watch an installation video on Youtube before hand so you know what to do with the olive and the brass cap thingy. Make sure you have a bleeding funnel and some mineral oil, it's the easiest way to bleed the air out once installed.

Shimano make great brakes, and the SLX M7100 feel just as good as the XT M8000 on my other bike, and they are better priced.They are a HUGE improvement on the MT200 brakes which my fatbike came with.Glad I got them!

Everything I already said about the SLX M7100 rear brakes apply to the front brakes too.I really like the feel of the much shorter brake lever. You only need your index finger to operate them, and I no longer have a long lever crushing my other fingers during hard braking.

Lasted 1 ½ seasons.

Only lasted 1 1/2 seasons and they are worn out, leaking and don't keep the pressure.Having to pump the brakes repeatedly on long DH runs is dangerous, and even stopping on a slope and keeping the brake on looses pressure and I have to pump.Constant air in the system, burp, bleed no positive results.Garbage department store bike equipment.When they worked, they worked well, stops you from 30mph to 0 in less than 50 ft using metallic vented pads and 203mm IceTech rotors and good 2.35 hardpack tires.

Love shimano brakes however these are junk

Bought front and rear set. Not even one ride pads contaminated with oil. Clean tested still oil all over disk sitting through the night. Turns out they are leaking from the caliper straight out of the box. Sending back for warranty hopefully prompt. Very disappointed love my saints and xts but looks like I will have to rely on avids till this little problem is resolved.

Bought this after breaking my lever in a crash. Consistent performance and strong braking power. I've always preferred the feel of Shimano brakes over Sram. I've also had more maintenance issues with Sram over the years.

Still hitting things

I would like to say that this brake has made me a better rider. Im faster, smoother, more confident in my riding.. but no. I still screw up. The brakes work fine.. I just make dumb mistakes.Purchased these levers to replace my old SLX levers. (Cira 2014/2015) These work much better than my old ones that had a small leak somewhere. Would the XT or XTR be better? Maybe... Would I be able to tell a difference? Probably not.

Purchased a front and rear set of SLX 2 pots for my hardtail. Love the shape of Shimano levers and these have plenty of bite with a nice feel. Easy to set up and lever bleed if shortening the hoses, too. Swapped out the resin pads for sintered straight away and bedded in nicely. Great brakes!

great brake for those looking at taking mountain biking more serious, definitely worth the price especially compared to stock brakes. One finger braking is amazing.
