The tip broke off on the first catch. Luckily the guys at BCF Geraldton looked after me and replace it with a PENN combo. Same low price but better quality.

Have found this Fishquest spinning combo to be a good mixture between flexibility and control. It has honestly surprised me as I feel it's great value for money.I've managed to catch plenty of fish with the Fishquest combo. I'd recommend it as a good value combo to others (excellent combo for beginner's and experienced anglers alike).This combo has replaced my Daiwa Aird-X rod after it's tip had snapped.The Mono line that's pre-spooled on this reel is decent and I use it with a Flouro leader. Works a treat and honestly my new go-to rod and reel combo!

It’s a garbage rod that is supposed to be a 2 peice but in fact in comes apart in 3, I believe bcf put these rods together themselves and are very cheap make! Fx4000 real is great though

Works as intended, a bit heavy but it is cheap. The rod provides good feel relative to the cheaper fibreglass rods that are even heavier. I've casted out baits and metal slugs with this and it does the trick. Work out more or buy a lighter setup if lure fishing/multiple repeated casting is what you're into.
Yeah, it's not the best rod in the world. The reel has a lot of plastic parts in non-vital areas and the combo doesn't have any sort of 'premium' finish. You aren't exactly gonna be rocking up to your local jetty like Ferris Bueller.However I have owned this rod for a year and I can say that it has never let me down, with frequent use as my main rock fishing rod, although I've used it for a lot of other fishing too. The reel is smooth and casts and retrieves very well. The rod itself has a sensitive fiberglass tip that is effective yet forgiving, while having enough grunt in the base to handle larger Tailor and Bream.If you want a combo for less than $100 I couldn't recommend a better, more versatile outfit, but it is still just a cheap combo.
Great rod for trolling. We set it up for just trolling and deep sea jigging. We paired it with a penn reel and heavy braid. Such good quality.
A lot of reviews have given the reel a bit of criticsm. That has not been my experience. It has worked really well. If I wanted to be picky I could say it's a bit small for the rod but that is minor. The rod has a slowish action which is exactly what I wanted for bait fishing off the beach. A good value combo.
Bought for non fishers trying fishing for the first time. Rod is good, reel is great but the line was replaced after purchase as very poor quality.
I bought the Shimano Fishquest combo as a gift for my grand-daughter, as she absolutely LOVES fishing. It is a big upgrade from her entry-level kids package deal that she has had for the last couple of years. I love that the reel comes with a 10yr warranty, and the quality shows. The whole package should serve her well for years to come. The team at BCF Port Stephens/Taylors Beach store are terrific. They are very helpful, friendly and courteous, and I know if I ever have any issues with a product I have purchased, they will be there to sort it all out for me. Thanks BCF.
Really cant complain have caught tailor, shovelnose sharks, reef sharks even a jack on it. Reel is good drag quite smooth and rod is tough. Good for the surf or off rocks.
