When the bail is supposed to re-engage after a cast it often does not re-engage, instead stopping the reel from winding. Flipping the bail by hand takes care of it but who wants to do that while chasing the lunker? I don't know if I got a defective one but this is clearly not an acceptable situation so I had to return it. Return was easy.

I purchased a 5000 size Miravel, to replace a cheaper reel that came as part of a 7' combo. The reel is extremely light and smooth. For a bit over $200 (or $300 spooled with 20 pound braid) can't go wrong. Might just be me, but I'm not mad about the name.

When the bail is supposed to re-engage after a cast it often does not re-engage, instead stopping the reel from winding. Flipping the bail by hand takes care of it but who wants to do that while chasing the lunker? I don't know if I got a defective one but this is clearly not an acceptable situation so I had to return it. Return was easy.

Just bought this reel and matched it with my Shimano jewel pe3 feels amazing and light can't wait to smash some snapper with it
Another great Shimano product. Very smooth, great casting. First trip out I put the Miravel on a 6’11” Megabass Whipsnake for some winter finesse action and landed a decent smallmouth with ease

Super light, extremely quiet, and can fight most inshore fish with zero problems. Drag has great sensitivity and will not lock unless you want it to. I paired it with a St. Croix Premier and it's extremely light, great for longer fishing trips.
Reel has a very smooth feel to it. Lite weight. Comfortable in the hand. Haven’t fished with it yet.
I bought this reel (2500 size) and paired it with a Lew's Custom Pro Speed Stick (got in on sale for $90) and am using with 8 lb test fluoro. I use this set up for lightweight and finesse type fishing such as skipping senkos under docks, drop shot fishing or throwing weightless texas rigs around. Will say this reel feels really smooth and can cast a great distance without much weight. Skipping under docks is way easier with this reel also because of how smooth it is. It is definitely an upgrade from the Lew's Mach Crush spinning combo and the Lew's Mach 2 spinning combo I have. My dad is trying to get back into fishing and plan to buy him this as his first reel as well. Definitely recommend.
bail wont close and cant turn handle returned it and they said nothing wrong looks like junk to me for good money
