I think this is a great product. The sole of the shoe does not flex at all and makes my foot feel snug in them. The heel at the back also makes it that little bit easier on the rare
time when you have to walk. For how expensive it is it does much more than I would have thought and I would definitely recommend it.

Great budget shoes from Shimano. Have used these shoes for over 18 months clocking up about 400 KMs a week in all weather conditions and they are still nearly as good as
the day I purchased them. Soles are stiff enough for decent power delivery and I don't notice any flex. The synthetic leather the shoes are made out of it tough and durable.
Bargain Shimano shoe. Why would you want anything else.

Great product and meets all the expectations I had. The sizing is a little smaller than the Shimano shoes (same size) that these shoes are replacing so I would consider
ordering one size larger than you normally do

Good product for Price
23 January 2019
I purchased these shoes two weeks ago in store. It was essential to buy in store as my feet are wide and I need to try them before purchase. It was as well I did as I normally take a size 44 shoe but had to go up to size 46 to get the width. Other models of cycle shoes were the same. Wanted to by Shimano as I purchase Shimano pedals and wanted compatability. Have worn them twice and they seem OK and work well with the cleat padals. Quality fine, for the price.... Show more

Good shoes
7 January 2019
I have used these shoes for a few rides totalling about 475 km. The shoes (size 45) fit well, have good quality and ventilation, and work great with Shimano 105 pedals. They are easy to clip in and out while using original cleats that came with the pedals. Overall value - they are 5/5 for me.... Show more

Great first clipless shoe -- works with SPD (even without adapter)
22 June 2020
Bought these as my first experiment going clipless (and paired them with the MEC WPD-M17C Clipless Pedals w/2-hole SPD cleats).Even though others have said these shoes need an adapter to work with SPD cleats, I've had no problem using them without the adapter plate (mind you walking in the shoes with cleats without the adapter is dicey). Was afraid of ordering online but found the size just right (wear shoes that are US 11, 11.5, and 12 depending on brand; ordered these in size 47).Still early days (i.e. < 100km) but very happy.... Great shoes
13 January 2019
I bought these last year, as my first pair of cycling shoes. I’ve done a few thousand kilometres in them and they have held up very well. I recently replaced the cleat on them ($40ish) and they’re good as new. I do occasionally get numb feet while riding, so I’m going to try thermal covers / thinner socks.... Show more

Needs an adaptor for SPD cleats
22 September 2018
I just bought these shoes for year-round commuting and took them back to MEC after less than one use. Even though they’re supposed to be compatible with SPD cleats, I was unable to clip out, as bolts inside the shoes pivoted with my feet as I tried to do so. Then I read the instructions. It turns out you need an adaptor to use these with SPD cleats. These shoes don’t come with an adaptor, or cleats. The adaptor is not cheap and MEC doesn’t sell it (or mention it in the ad for this shoe). I was also frustrated by the sizing. I wear a US size 10.5 and my last bike shoe, a Mavic, was EU size 44. For this shoe I could only fit in to a size 46, which lists as being US size 11.2. Even size 45 was too small, even though it equates to US size 10.5. Not a complete multi-cleat shoe
8 October 2018
I'm a newcomer to clip-in shoes and purchased these two-bolt and three-bolt compatible cleats in anticipation of maybe switching to SPD-SL cleats in the future. However I had the same issues as Al2018 in that you need a pontoon adapter (SM-SH40 - sold separately, not through MEC) to properly use SPD cleats, and that the sizing is a bit on the small side. Before installing the cleats I returned and exchanged for the Shimano ME1s a size larger and have had no issues.I would recommend MEC add a disclaimer about these being two-bolt compatible out of the box, as there is no information to tell people otherwise until the shoes have been purchased and you realize that things aren't working like they are supposed to.... Update to my previous review
18 March 2020
I’m upgrading my previous review for 2 reasons: 1. I repurchased the show for road cycling, to be used with 3-hole clipless pedals (SPD-SL), and they are very comfortable and light. 2. I notice that MEC now sells the required adaptor. Still, it should say in the product description that an adaptor for 2-hole (SPD) cleats is required and sold separately.... Show more
