Great little rod. Have had other ultralight rods but this is the best I’ve had for what I use it for. Casts very small plastics and lures effortlessly and can use small unweighted hooks with small baits as well. Very sensitive rod. Very happy overall.

Good for casting and sensitive. Great all rounder.
This rod is capable of casting 1-5g lures and plastics over 75 meters with a calm wind. I already own the 7’ ultra light 1-3 kg and 7’3 2-5 kg estuary squidgie rods and was extremely impressed with the actions of both, but this rod at 7’9 1-4 kg with a savage gear sg8 2500 and 6lb braid casts the same weight lures as the ultra light but a lot lot further. Its now my absolute all time favourite trout setup that I’ve ever owned and used. Can’t recommend it enough and Freddy’s prices are the icing on the cake.

Looks the goods, haven't had opportunity to use but exactly what you would expect from Shimano, excellent finish & quality fittings - and as always arrived on time and undamaged from Freddy's
