This reel will handle any saltwater game fish on the west coast.Paired with a Grappler J 5'3" XXH, it will allow me to hold the rod with my right arm and give me the extra leverage only bottom mount spinning reel can offer.I plan on using this combination when fishing for Bluefin tuna in San Diego.It will allow me to cast the bait to the target species!

Excuse me, who has 1000 dollars laying around (I Do), might as well buy a yacht to go along with this thing, not to mention you probably are gonna run out of money for the rod, so I recommend taking the rod off of a kid caster, great for tuna and grouper and is a fun fight for how light the rod is. Overall great rod and exceptional price.

It handled a 65 pound blue so smooth that I thought the fish was smaller. I love the casting of it and the strength of the reel. Would purchase another one.

Really? 4000XG comes with felt drag washers...Everything is fine except the handle and drag washers.1. 4000XG handle is 60mm long with EVA knob vs. 5000XG handle is 65mm long with CI4+ knobso, I upgraded 4000XG handle to 5000XG handle.2. 4000XG has the felt drag washers so I upgraded to the Carbontex drag washers.3. Received items in good condition on 24 Oct'17. Label printed on spool as SW14000. Printed on the bottom handle as SW14000XG-B. Ordered Stella 14000 SWB XG. Just concern why the inconsistency in the product ID. Are they the same? I hope the product is as per advertised. Could FTS clarify on this. Haven't tested yet. Thanks
