I love it!! A pleasure to cast with large lures. Some people dont like the large handle but I like the grip and feel. It is pricey but you will be happy you made the decision to purchase it. I have several Abu Revo toros as well for Musky but this is my favourite reel.

Great casting. Great jigging. Great power. Light! I use this real for everything from cod to tuna. Awesome reel to travel with as well. Caught grouper, snapper, and jacks on it as well.

As well as the quick turnaround delivery time! This reel worked amazingly jigging up in Gladstone with mackerel, fish of the bottom and even trolling divering lures.

I absolutely fell in love with the reel over my last Tuna Trip. I was casting out 50-60 yards with a blue and chrome Tady Yo Yo jig. I would wait about 30 sec to 1 min and then crank it in as fast I can. I caught 5 yellowfin in 2 hours and felt like a rock star on the boat (limit for the day). No one else could achieve the speed that the Tranx could, I would say close to 30 mph at full crank. No one else caught a fish, even when they used the same jig and believe me they tried. If you crank the jig too slow Tuna can get a good look at it and back off. The speed of the retrieve made all the difference in the world.
It is an excellent reel with high quality components. However, there are a couple of drawbacks. It has a white knob on the handle, which gets dirty. There is no clikcker on the reel. When you're baitfishing at night it would be nice to turn on the clicker just in case you fall asleep. Also, the price is kind of steep. Otherwise it is an excellent baitfishing reel. Holds plenty of line and easy to cast.
Great value, however it was advertised as brand new, but the box was opened. Usually Shimano provides a maintenance kit of oil and extra spare parts. There was an empty bag in the box. Not sure what suppose to be in it. Overall the reel was in perfect condition which was the most important. Im definitely satisfied with this.
Outstanding reel! Casts great! Works great whether tossing to Mahi, burning jigs or wreck fishing! Great drag! Paired with Shimano Terez 70 mh! Great combo!
This is the ULTIMATE reel for casting jigs! Once dialed in just let it fly, no thumbing the spool! Coupled with the stopping power of shimano drags, this is why Shimano is the brand you can TRUST!
It was a gift for my daughter's boyfriend. Since I am writing this review long after he received it, he has told me how much he enjoys using it. It operates as well as he could have expected. I marked 'NO' on the question of 'Good Value' because it is the exact same price as I could have gotten it at a number of online sites. However, it WAS in stock and available so that the gift could be delivered on time.
Bought one of these reels to use off the top of PNG around 11 years ago and its been such a great reel I decided to get another one. Just love it sight casting lures and stickbaiits to macs tuna and gts.
