It's a little piece of plastic that fits inside the front mech & it fits perfectly. It didn't have the effect I thought it would but that's not the poor little skid plates fault. Need to brush up on my bike mechanic skills.

These kind of disposable items will be impossible to get in years to come. So if you want to keep your equipment like new over the long haul then you have better stock pile a few items like this.

Brilliant replacement. Such good value for money I purchased a couple for future use.
OEM Product. Consider it a wear and tear item. Not really essential to derailleur performance
My original part had come off somewhere when I had an issue with an old chain. This replaced it and should mean my new chain and front derailleur last a bit longer.
Nothing at all wrong with the skid plate itself, easy to fit but lost it on first outing after fitting so suspect thats more an issue with Shimanos design than the replacement skid plate
Fitted within 5 minutes of receiving the package, no installation issues and works perfectly.
Easy peasy, remove old & worn skid plate by pushing the rear clips through the back of the derailleur arm. Clean back of derailleur arm, place new skid plate pushing retaining clips through preset holes, job done.
Better than discarding the whole derailleur, easy to mount, put some extra glue just in case.
