Not the most high end shoes but very comfortable. It's always hard to find the balance between stiffness and comfort. These shoes are stiff enough for xc and gravel but they won't destroy your feet on long days. I tried both the women & men version and could not tell the difference except the inner material color (black for men version).

I bought these for gravel riding and have really enjoyed the BOA system. They're comfortable but snug, and really easy to walk in when needed.I wear a 9 in running shoes and almost always wear a 40 2/3 or a 41 (depending on the sizing) in European sized shoes, and the size 41 was perfect for me.

They're comfy and secure. I love them and would recommend them. With Shimano, however, you need to size up one size. I initially ordered size 39 (EU) and had to replace for a 40.

My New Favorite Shoes
11 January 2021

Super comfortable shoes. These fit my wide feet and the toe box is generous. The upper is pliable enough to accommodated my bunions without pain. The closure system is more complicated than velcro straps. Nevertheless, I figured out how to use in the closure system a in minute and like it. I've ridden 35 miles in the shoes and they work great.

No thanks, but thanks…

We ordered these Shimano MTB shoes from Tredz and they arrived in good time. They seemed like a high quality product but, unfortunately, they didn’t quite fit the foot shape of my Cinderella. They were returned and Tredz have already been in touch to organise the refund. So, pleased and disappointed all at the same time.

Not for endurance cycling
14 June 2021

I bought this on the recommendation of others since my feet are wide and I prefer a bigger toe box. This shoe doesn't have a big toe box and it was tight. The size runs small as well. When I first rode with it, it felt great although the shoe felt very tight. The air flows through the shoe so I thought this was going to be great. After 40 miles, the tongue of the shoe had rubbed on the top of both my feet enough to make it bleed. For long distance cyclists, a too tight shoe will lead to numbness in the ball of the foot and I felt the beginnings of that with just 40 miles. This shoe was not going to last the usual 100 miles I do so it was returned.

Overall very pleased with my purchase

My old lace up shimano MTB shoes needed replacing. I chose a size bigger than my normal shoe size as before and also purchased Specialized insoles. I found the boa closure easy to adjust. So far, so good. I also like the fact that I can walk on these soles quite comfortably. These shoes are a little heavier than my old pair but overall I am pleased with them. Most reviews for these shoes consider these are a good spec for the price and I would agree.

Unreliable shoes

Boa systems often broke off of shoe. I’ve taken them in for repairs multiple times after only having them for 2 months. Very poor product

[Rewarded Review] Happy with the shoes
11 May 2021

Bought a month ago and have 150 miles of dirt with (and on) them. Really love the way they cup my heel. Remarkably good fit. I wear size 14 US athletic shoes and got a 49 size (about 13.5 US) in these shoes and am very happy with the length. They stay tight and don't stretch over the ride like my old ones did. Much easier to hike-a-bike without the steal toe cleats like my old shoes too.Maybe less than stellar: Feels kind of bulky in the forefoot sole if you're standing on rocks, but it's tolerable. I don't notice it when riding though. Not sure how long the BOA system will last. It seems like I'm going to pull it apart when I disengage it, but time will tell.I would recommend these. In fact, I'm going to get my girlfriend a pair.

Other than a bit on the narrow side of fit … high quality materials… bit tough to unlock the Boa to loosen … very sturdy : these will last as long as the bike lasts. I’d buy again! Recommend these as long as your feet are not wide.
