It is super lightweight, fast absorbing, and all of my products sink in really well when layered on top. I was so surprised by the rapid results that I got. It suits my dry skin perfectly by giving it an extra burst of hydration. After applying this essence with a cotton pad, my skin immediately feels awake. This product is on the pricey side, so I really appreciate that the bottle is refillable. This product applies amazingly and the texture Is soft and silky! The color is between milky and translucent. There is a very light clean scent and smells like it could be fragrance free. As always, I recommend doing an initial patch test on the back of your hand or palm to make sure there are no side effects. I had no sensitivities and I waited about an hour after the patch test to apply on my face and neck. You only need to apply a few drops of this Essence at a time for your entire face. This is better for the planet and to hoard less products in your home! This product came to me neatly wrapped in plastic and it is in a pretty red bottle. It feels pretty heavy when holding it in my hand. You can purchase this product and the refill lotion @Seohora and directly on the @Shiseido website for around $90. I wish that I didn't like this product as much because now i'm going to have to justify spending this much money. Honestly, a bottle will last me about a few months or more because of the high quality. Overall, I highly recommend this product to people with various Skin Types. But my my my let me tell you that this product goes such a long way with two tiny tear drop like drops of this and it works for half my face. I was really about to go back to a skincare routine without an essence once I finished the pink drink but now that I’ve found this no way will I ever go back to not having this product! I’ve left Shiseido reviews before and I’ve raved because they deserve it. Shiseido just understands skin and how to make it look it’s best and healthiest. I have yet to try a product from them that my skin didn’t love and that’s everything from their skincare to their makeup. I love their foundation it’s the only brand I’ve ever went out of my way to purchase two shades I got my summer and my winter shade to make sure I could wear it year round and I never do that I always just use whatever brand I have that is my closest shade at that time so that shows how much I love the radiant lifting foundation. As I said Shiseido just gets skin or at the very least they get what my combination dry skin needs because I’m blown away every time. I might just have to try out their serums next because Shiseido never releases anything but gold. If you have the desire for healthy supple skin with a radiant glow from within trust in not only this essence but Shiseido in general! I promise with them it’s always worth every penny.

I fell in love with Essences because it’s applied as your first step after cleansing prepping the skin to effectively absorb subsequent products, like serum and moisturizer. I’ve been using this for about 10 days and my skin feels baby smooth, brighter and more plump. I’m so happy I get to continue using this revolutionary essence that not only helps skin retain moisture but also promotes skin cell turnover giving me a radiant look.

After cleansing with Good Light’s Cosmic Dew Water cleanser, typically I’d tone with ACwell Licorice PH balancing toner, the first time using this, I replaced my toner with this and then followed with the rest of my routine. I’ve also followed my toner with this and had very similar results both ways. Upon application this absorbs INSTANTLY hydrating my skin making it feel supple and firm. It absorbs so well that even my hands seem to absorb some of the liquid. The rest of my routine consists of an occasional second essence, serum, eye cream, moisturizer, and a sleep mask every other night. I’ve noticed a dramatic difference in the absorption of the rest of the products in my routine when my skin is prepped using this product. It’s too soon to declare the long term benefits, but i have no doubt that the rest of Shiseido’s claims will be backed by the results just as the initial were!

At least the refill is lower priced which will encourage people to buy the refill vs a new bottle. The bottle itself is pretty large and you’ll get a lot of product for the price, but I’m not convinced that it is worth the splurge.

If I could I’d give it 4.5 stars instead of 5; it’s a great product, but quite expensive for an essence, even given the almost 5oz. I’ve been using this for about a month now, and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in how soft my skin is, as well as a slight improvement in skin texture. I’ve also noticed that when I use this before bed, I have significantly less redness. I also love using this in the mornings with a cotton pad; I have very dry skin and using this before my regular moisturizer in the morning makes a very noticeable difference in the way my makeup looks. On days I use the essence, my makeup looks better all day! I’m also acne prone and have sensitive skin and this has never broken me out at all fragrance wasn’t too much! I have yet to try something from them that I haven’t loved everything from foundation, two different blush formulations, cotton pads, serum, eye cream, essence, etc. This company really understands skin and making it look absolutely radiant. I NEVER purchase more than one shade in foundation I always use whatever brand I have that fits my exact color for the winter or summer months or I make it work but with the Shiseido foundation I have two colors because I want to make sure I can wear their foundation year round so that’s how you know their company is good!
