I bought the adult ones about a year ago because my previous ones were worn down and super old. I thought Shockdoctor being a supposedly reputable brand, that their gum shields would do a good job. I was very wrong and ended up wasting my money because obviously these can't be returned or exchanged. These being the ones that mold to your teeth as well no just the gumline, you essentially only get 1 go at molding them. After following the instructions I put them In my mouth, I noticed immediately that they were too small and just wouldn't yield even for an adult version. They were then obviously stuck in that position because the teeth mold would be unlikely to move again in a well enough manner so I up them straight into the bin. Bought this mouthguard for teenage son to play soccer. It did NOT hold up well to to this man-child! I swear its like he was teething again! and have you seen teenage boys play soccer with mouth guards? Its a site to see! It was easy to fit with the boiling and all but just didn't have what it takes to keep up with my teen athlete!

Great Mouthguard, Fits Great & Super Moldable. Love the optional included strap for attaching it to a helmet. Just make sure to get the correct size. They have youth (really only good for small kids with a very small jawline (up to 7-8yrs old), otherwise buy the adult size (you can cut and mold it very easy to make it fit if needed).

Got two of these for my son who plays football, worked well. Directions were easy to follow. Price was a little much. Was always around $10, now over $14 (on sale)But, I stayed with this brand knowing my son would be comfortable with it
Bought this for my daughter who just started playing high school lacrosse. This is the first sport she has played so I am also a new sports parent, therefore, please keep that in mind while reading this review. Overall, it was pretty simple to follow the instructions to mold it to her mouth. It seems to do the trick, but it is really bulky compared to some of the other brands her teammates have.
My son uses this mouth guard to play under 13s rugby league, with every other mouth guard he’s taken it out during the game, lost it, chewed the side of it, you name it, they never last! With this one, he never takes it out, can yell and talk while it’s in and doesn’t find it annoying like the rest! Would buy it again if he decides to lose it but i dont think he will ;)
This is one of the many mouthguards I bought for my 4 kids - this one's for my daughter. I buy my kids a new one every year because they grow. They use the mouthguards for jiu-jitsu, football, wrestling, and lacrosse. These Gel Max Mouthguards are awesome, easy to mold, and do a great job protecting my kids' teeth. They look and seem small initially, but once they're boiled and formed, they'll fit with no problem (adults or kids sizes). My recommendation is to follow the size chart.
I bought this mouthguard as I participate in a high contact sport and it looked like a more advanced version of what I already had, it was also more expensive so I again assumed it would be a better product but I quickly learnt that wasn't the case when I attempted the fitting procedure.I am a 20 year old male so I purchased the "adult" size. I attempted three times to fit the mouth guard following the exact prosedure of the guide provided with the product and it didn't even get close to moulding to my teeth properly. The material was to firm so I again attempted for a fourth time leaving it in the boiling water for a lot longer then shown in the guide. I bought this for my 16 year old son who has been used to moulding mouth guards for 10 years. This one is really hard to mould. I ended up going back to the cheaper ones at the chemist. Unfortunately did not keep the receipt so it’s $35 wasted on this rubbish!

I recommended watching a video on youtube for how to fit a boil and bite mouthguard tightly. I was able to get it tight enough that it's difficult to remove with just my tongue.The mouthguard goes decently far back, but not too far (doesn't get as far as my wisdom teeth), so it's a comfortable length.Problems: the front of the gumshield has a hard plastic part which covers part of the front. This part had a sharp ledge (where the hard plastic ends) which I had to cut with scissors to smooth out a bit and then it was comfortable to wear. After adjusting with scissors it's ok for BJJ, if you want to do cardio in a gumshield and probably for something like field hockey or rugby but not for getting hit repeatedly.
