By far the best helmet I've ever worn. Sits a bit high on my head, but man is this lid comfortable. I've always worn two other brands (Be__ & Sco_____ ) but like a woman who's been with a color blind man for the first time - I'll never go back. A message to the helmet manufacturers. Y'all need to get on the "tech train" Motorcycles have gotten Uber sophisticated but helmets are lagging behind. Speakers (good ones) are a minimum feature that every helmet must have, Figure it out?

Not sure that this helmet has been getting enough love...I prefer half and 3/4 helmets and have been wearing Bell Pit Boss for the last 5 years behind my full fairing HD Ultra Limited.I measure 59 CM (L) or thereabouts but usually find an (Xl) more comfortable at a 61 CMI ordered an XL for this helmet and was surprised at the significantly high level of comfort, fit and finish... not to mention the excellent coverage and adjustability of the dropdown visor.I probably have about 6 helmets (seeking the "one") and this may be my new go to. Admittedly a little "bulbous" as Anthony describes in his review... but it's comfort and fit outweighs all that...MHOIf you are a 1/2 or 3/4 helmet person I would recommend checking this one out.

I purchased the helmet (Unseen or tested for fitment in real life) after seeing one in a video. It’s possibly the most comfortable, best fitting open face helmet I’ve ever owned. I don’t normally use drop down visors as they rarely fit properly and air leaking through makes my eyes water. The profile on the bottom of the visor and the 3 stops of adjustability mean I can get the visor close to my nose totally alleviating the problem (also the way it’s been made there is zero distortion towards the edges). The helmet is light, the padding is excellent and noise is minimal given it’s an open face design. Photographs don’t do the colour any justice either. Highly recommended
I like the helmet more than I expected. In the past I used a Davida Speedster which is a quality product but did not fit properly. The Shoei JO on the other hand fits snug but without pressure points. The lining uses modern materials which are comfortable. I like the design of the shell and the quality feel of the materials. The dropdown shield is very effective in keeping the wind off my eyes even at 60-70 mph. At 60 mph I felt a little helmet lift but I had goggles on the front of the helmet. There is no whistling even at high speeds even when turning the head for lane changes. Overall a quality helmet with a retro jet style with modern tech and materials. Highly recommend if you are looking for a 3/4 helmet
I'm a big-round-head guy at 60.5cm and went with a large as I chose the White model during a sale. Maybe I should've gone with the XL grey but hey. The large fits well enough if not a bit tight with stock pads and might fit better if I choose smaller pads which I haven't done yet.First, the negative. This is an open face helmet and it is not quiet. Anything above 45mph gets some noise going, out on the highway it's quite loud. The real negative, ZERO air flow - which I think is odd since there's a good deal of wind noise. If the noise hits my ears, shouldn't that mean wind is getting in to reduce temperatures/give air flow? Literally dripping when I take the helmet off. Can't wait for fall/winter.Now the good. The helmet is very light compared to what I had before. The helmet is also great when at speeds, no buffering, sudden neck whipping, or wind knocking my head around at all. Zero issues with that. If not for the sweat and noise, I wouldn't even know I had a helmet on. This is my first "top quality" helmet, having a Bell Eliminator (the cheaper one) and a cheap half-helmet before and it's an astounding difference when riding at speed.Perhaps I should have gone with an XL but even with the sweat and noise at speed, I'm very happy with this helmet - even if I look like there's a giant marshmallow on the noggin. What a quality job Shoei does.If you're looking for a 3/4 helmet and can tolerate a bit of a sweaty head during the summer and some noise (which you'll find in any 1/2 or 3/4 helmet), grab one of these.Oh, the visor - as others have said, even with the visor down, there's wind getting up into the eyes. I wear 'No Cry' shades off Amazon which are great for riding and they block the excess wind from hitting my eyes and causing tears, but with regular shades the wind into the eyes is a bother. The visor sits well enough there's no bother to the nose. I haven't hit rain yet while riding so not sure how it'll work during rainy conditions.Also, the neck strap should be a bit longer. When I go to snap the strap, I have to put a finger under the female side strap in order not to press into my cheekbone. Maybe that's a wrong-size issue, but a heads up on this anyway.Tl:DNR? No airflow, expectably noisy, excellent weight and ability to handle wind/high speeds without any buffering.I would buy again (in grey, and XL, and after I get a top-notch full face.)Be safe out there guys. Really comfortable helmet that fits me perfectly . Looks really good especially with the optional smoke visor I ordered with it. Shoei have managed a class act with this model , I have the Matt Black which is an understated cool look.Urban Rider were as usual brilliant with delivery - super quick and efficientWould wholeheartedly recommend !
Just fancied an open faced lid for use when I’m riding the sidecar rig, after trying lots of different brands trying to by cheaper , I ended up buying another shoei,as it was the only one that felt comfortable and a proper fit,just like my full faced.Excellent quality as usual, from a brand I trust having used one in anger and am still here.
Feels very comfortable and is extremely well finished. It is very light and offers good visibility all round. The visor works well. I would use my full face helmet for higher speed travelling at motorway speeds, but around town or for shorter spins through country lanes where good visibility to me is essential, it is excellent. It is expensive compared to many alternatives. I have a cheaper alternative and can't see that helmet getting any further use (it is heavier, not as comfortable and not a well finished) unless a pillion wanted to go for a spin into town. Bottom line, which is my test for any higher end purchases I make, is that if someone nicked it or it got damaged, I would buy another!
This helmet looks good for sure. But the visor does not do its job. You would still get a lot of airflow at your eyes even if the visor dropped down.Also, it's a very loud helmet. You defiantly need to be ready to buy a pair of earplugs.This helmet is more than enough for a short distance. Around 10-15 min without earplug, let's say. After that, you would start getting annoying riding.One more word about technology. For this price, I would like to expect something more advanced than simply foam inside a helmet.3 stars only for how looks this helmet.
