Switching between seasons is hard because instead of just cinching, I have to adjust to fir over a gaiter or bare neck where the double D just tightens to what it needs to be. I wish companies would stick with simple. That said, everything else in the N3 is exceptional. The front vent is more than sufficient and the visor lock really seals the helmet up nice.I wear ear plugs, but this is by far quieter than the GT Air.All in all, it's the best helmet I've ever owned and I've had some really good ones.

Great Upgrade
23 May 2024

Just purchased to replace my black RF-1400. Was skeptical of trying something other than a full face helmet. Tried a few on in store and could instantly tell this was the helmet I was looking for. Wind noise is about equivalent to my RF-1400, but the comfort and shape are so much better. The integrated SRL3 is far better than my Cardo PalkTalk Slim. Sound quality is great. Access to the buttons and functions are easy. Light to the touch.Thank you to Willie at the Bedford, TX locations for helping me out. They are my go to spot for parts, gear, and even occasional meet up with others in the community.

I bought this after having a bell bullit for the last few years, I got so sick of wind noise, I ride motorway speeds every day and so a quiet helmet was the main motivation, I prefer a more retro style helmet but they just aren’t known for being quiet and so I thought it was worth sacrificing some looks for the sake of my eardrums. Since having it I’m a complete convert to having a the creature comforts, not only is it lovely and quiet, I no longer get off my bike with ringing ears, I use the inbuilt sun visor way more than I thought I would, the flip up comes in handy at petrol stations etc, I bought the SLR-3 along with it, a bit tricky to fit but nothing a few YouTube tutorials couldn’t get me through. Now i have music playing whilst I ride which is amazing! Neotec 3 Review

I have always liked Shoei helmets. The Neotec 3 is a little bit difficult to get on. However once on it is comfortable and quiet. I gave it 4 stars because of the strap and buckle mechanism. I had a C3 Pro helmet before the Neotec 3 and I never fell in love with that buckle mechanism either. However, the C3 Pro buckle system was slightly better.1. The receiver buckle and strap are too short; they are not effective when pulling the helmet on.2. The flaps under the buckle are difficult to keep in place when securing the buckle system, if not careful it is possible to pinch your neck skin. The old C3 Pro had Velcro on the flaps, they were longer.3. The buckle system does not have the range or ease of adjustment that a D ring system does. It can easily take 5 to 10 minutes to adjust the buckle system length. Forget using a balaclava. Please bring back the D ring system. I would pay to have one installed on this helmet. Not worth the money..
21 August 2024

This helmet has a few issues. One, its noisy. For a helmet that cost $900 the wind should be a lot quieter. Two, the drop down sun visor started rattling after about a two months. It is really annoying.. Third, and this is the biggest problem I have with the helmet. The cheek pads come unbuttoned almost every time I take off the helmet. The buttons are just really cheap. This helmet is not what I was expected out of a brand like Shoei. If I could return it I would. This will be my LAST SHOEI

Shoei Neotec 3 - Better
19 April 2024

Coming from Gen 1 of the Neotec, I was expecting a good difference at over 2k with the Sena unit. Not that it wasn’t any good, but after 8 years, it could of been a tad more confortable, have much better lateral noise dynamics and a simpler integration with the Sena unit.I’m happy to report all these little things that started to add up have been mostly solved by on this 3rd Generation.Much better lateral noise control, visor that’s much easier to operate while riding (and using at different levels - lower than before) and a much better integration of the Sena unit (not perfect - but better).Simply, I see Shoei a bit like a Porsche 911 - no drastic changes - but continuous ameliorations that in the end make for a better fit, finish and overall enjoyment when ... MoreComing from Gen 1 of the Neotec, I was expecting a good difference at over 2k with the Sena unit. Without being scientific in my observations, I would say 10 to 15% quieter in general and no more hiss when side winds hit.Overall I recommend upgrading to the unit. It isn’t perfect, but when your looking for a do it all helmet - it’s hard to beat. Yes it’s expensive, but this isn’t the point if you’re looking at a Shoei helmet. Cheers.

Shoei Neotec 3 - Plain
4 April 2024

Having had several Shoei helmets before, I had no hesitation in choosing the latest Neotec 3, which is the most comfortable helmet I've ever had. My chosen colour of Anthracite is far better in the flesh than the photographs suggest, and is actually a gloss finish; the photos make it difficult to differentiate from the Deep Grey model. Service from the team at the Infinity shop in Norwich was first class; all the staff were very informative, helpful and fully professional. I additionally purchased the Sena SRL-03 comms system, and this was fitted to the helmet in the store, along with the pinlock.

Sun visor hits my nose.
2 June 2024

I own a six year old Neotech 2. I replaced it with a Hornet X2 as the Neotech 3 wasn't available in the US yet (am very happy with that, but still want a modular at times). Now that it is, I was going to buy one as a secondary (non off road and summer use) helmet.I read some comments that the sun visor that now comes down a 1/2 inch farther than the 2 hits some peoples noses so I went to my local cycle gear today to try one out. Sure enough, it rest just on the tip of my nose when in the fully down position. Tried lifting it a tad, but then I could see some light in my peripheral (and who knows if it would stay there over time).Very disappointing as I was really looking forward to getting this as nothing fits me like a Shoei, and I like the few changes they made ... MoreI own a six year old Neotech 2. May end up buying another 2 while they are still available.
