Shoei NXR2 - Scanner TC5 Motorcycle Helmet

Perfect! That's what I was looking for. Japanese quality and easy to see, minimum or no fog at all, very light helmet.

Very aerodynamic. I ride a bike with no wind protection and there is basically no buffeting. The fit is snug but not uncomfortable. I do not like the visor lock in the middle.

Get what you pay for

I started with a junky Amazon helmet and switching to the RF-1400 is the best decision I?ve ever made! This helmet fits amazing, wicks moisture good, and flows a lot of air. This helmet is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for in my opinion.My only gripe is it didn?t come with a tinted visor and the one Shoei sell?s is expensive.

If you need Snell - this is a great choice.

Coming off of a Schuberth?s C3-pro. This is a lot lighter and the aero qualities are better. Is it louder at highway speeds? Yes - but every helmet is loud at highway speeds. Plenty of room for sunglasses (which is great since there is no drop down visor. Ventilation is good - but I was expecting more coming from Schuberth.I needed to order different padding to get sizing correct - Shoei has them in stock but they charge a lot for shipping - FYI.Overall - really good helmet - 5 stars would be if it had a visor and better communication options and mounting.

RF-1400 Scanner

Fit is perfect. Lightweight. Looks great. I switched to a smoke tinted visor and it looks great. The reviews I saw on the RF-1400 were concerned about the visor latch. I find it easy to open with two fingers. Only wish they had the Departed 2 design in stock. Highly recommended.

Was about to press the button to buy from this site when eBay had a 15% sale so grabbed it from another outlet. That said, this review is about the product not the seller. Firstly, it is a touch lighter than both of my LS2 helmets and I love the design. In addition, it has much better aerodynamics. I am travelling at my usual speeds and there is much less buffetting and no neck strain. I've read loads of reviews about how quiet this helmet is, but I cannot agree with that. Maybe I've been lucky with my LS2s but I cannot tell the difference between them and this Shoei. Same ear plugs, same roads, same everything and I am getting the same level of noise.

Not had or needed a helmet for nearly 20 years, but the last one I had was a Shoei so thought I'd stick with a brand I knew and trusted... and I'm not at all dissapointed. Fastastic quality as I expected, perfect fit and a lovely design to boot. Would highly recommended this helmet.

The helmet is well put together, feels very premium and a big step up from the Arai Debut it's replaced. The visor mechanism is simpe to use, and I like that it can stay partially opened without dropping closed. The helmet is very comfortable, and it's less noisy than previous helmets I've had in the past. IMO the only way they could improve it would be to add a drop down sunvisor.

Worth the wait

This was an upgrade from a older Rf-1200 for me and the difference is night and day. It feels lighter, the ratchet for the visor works more smoothly and the wind noise is nonexistent. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a helmet.
