(5 reviews)

The SK8-Hi was introduced in 1978 as the Style 38 and showcases the now iconic Vans Sidestripe in a new, innovative high-top style. The SK8-Hi is the second model with a recognizable marking, formerly known as "jazz stripes", giving the Vans family a whole new look. Paying homage to the first legendary high-top, the Pig Suede SK8-Hi features a sturdy suede upper in a variety of classic and unexpected color schemes. These lace-up shoes also include a reinforced toe, a supportive padded collar and a signature rubber waffle outsole.

I absolutely love my Vans. At the time of writing, I think I have about 14 pairs. I bought my first pair in 2020 and they are still like the day I got them. They're sturdy, well built,
and easy to clean. Vans clothing is also amazing. Most of my wardrobe consists of Vans t-shirts, coats, hoodies, belts, etc They keep their shape when washed and the colours
don't bleed at all. The staff in physical Vans shops go above and beyond to help and offer their assistance as quickly as they can! Amazing quality in every product from Vans;
absolutely will keep buying until I run out of space in my house.

Generally a good shoe. Boardfeel is good. The hi-tops stabilize the ankle a bit more and if the board hits you don't get a cut straight away. As with all Vans skate shoes, the
laces are a little thicker + you get a pair to change. An insole optimized for skating is also included. The standard Vans insole is Popcush, but there are also others such as
Ultracush etc. The insole is ok, but can't be compared with Footprint, for example. Otherwise, I find the thickness of the fabric and the sole thinner than, for example, the
Blazers from Nike or a pair of Last Resort hi-tops, but thicker than a pair of Chuck Taylors from Converse. They don't last forever, but they don't get holes extrem... Show more

Great skate shoe and motorcycle shoe too. The squishy insoles pair well in this shoe unlike all the low-tops (the low tops feel unstable and less controllable on a board; small
controlled inputs to my board get lost in the insole). Nice grippy flick. Being a high top, the ankle support seems to improve my form when jumping (more upright), overall I
notice more steeziness in others rocking the shoe too. Comfy. Almost Perfect.

I would buy this again.

I use the product for learning skateboards and scooters. I usually use loose lace because it is a tight fit. I recommend bread laces, as they are elastic so they turn it into a slip on but it also fits tight. Not alot to say about this shoe other then great quality and gotta live Vans! Keep making good shoes like you have been since 1966!... Show more

My favourite vans

These are cool they fit my orthotics without taking the insole out.Cause they're white, I buy a new pair of the exact same every other year. They don't seem to fall apart too quickly. They do have that thing where if you wash them they wick a yellowish pigment out of the glues or whatever, as they dry, so that's a bit annoying but it's not too bad they still look pretty good after a proper scrub. Also I use elastic as laces and surprisingly it still works even with the high top.You just need to play around to get the right tightness.... Nice, but

Four star rating because although they seem to be better made than the last couple of years shoes (that would wear out quickly even if I only wore them for a couple hours maybe 12 times in a year and fall apart at the seams and rubber insole,) these seem like they won't. Time will tell. However the laces are cheap, thin and rough like there woven from plastic and the dye used on the shoes came off on the laces the first time I put them on, so there blackened from the dye and not white like there supposed to be. One more thing, please, please please make these in the USA! Or if you have to out-source from our economy try India or Korea? Also I wish Vans had the option to add comments later on the year, so people could communicate to Vans and the public on the long ... MoreFour star rating because although they seem to be better made than the last couple of years shoes (that would wear out quickly even if I only wore them for a couple hours maybe 12 times in a year and fall apart at the seams and rubber insole,) these seem like they won't. And one more thing, PLEASE make more color options like reds, blues, pinks, purples- light and dark, ect. I would definitely buy another color in the future.P.S. maybe consider making your $20 off your next order last longer? Not everyone has the money to buy something else in the 1 week time the coupon expires in.... Show more

So Comfortable
13 March 2024
I bought these about a month ago as some new everyday/work shoes, and they're so comfortable. I need support on one ankle and the high sides and padding is brilliant. I previously bought the all-black pair back in 2019 and they're still going strong, but I wanted another pair. The material was a bit stiff but within a month it's well on the way to being broken in. Amazing when you're on your feet all day.... Show more
