The second part is an 18° beveled driver housing that also aids the snugness of the fit in an over the ear design.• The open fit design is enhanced through the use of SHOKZ DirectPitch™ technology that provides balanced, precise, clear, and natural audio with minimal leakage.• The open-ear design allows one to stay plugged into the real work, while taking care of the things one needs to take care of.• The buds are rated for up to 28 hours of battery life. Up to 6 hours via a single charge and up to 28 hours with the charging case. A 10-mnunte change will deliver up to 2 hours of listening time.• Multi-point paring allows for simultaneous sync with up to two devices – phones, laptops, or tablets included with a device switch enabled with a simple tap.The earbuds come in 3 colors – Black, White, and Pink. They weigh 8.7g and have 4 microphones for voice precision when taking calls. If you have read any of my other earbud reviews, you may recall that my wife loves earbuds, and I really don’t like them. Well, folks these are the exception and I love these – primarily because they are an ON-EAR design vs an IN-EAR design. This, however, does have drawbacks in that noise can overpower these devices – for example while I could wear and use them when using my string trimmer, I did have to turn the volume way up to have any chance of hearing anything.I tested them in audiobook, podcast, music and phone call modes and had no issues with any of these scenarios the crisp, clear, sound. Again, these are soundly the best earbuds that I have tested.

I been wanting a pair of wireless earbuds that are comfortable. I don't like ones that go into your ear because I find them to be very fatiguing and painful after a while. I didn't buy these to have high fidelity audio, I bought these to make my long walks less boring and to give me a motivation boost to increase my pace. But they are not just great for working out, I used them for work as well, doing mundane tasks I can enjoy my music but still be able to talk to others without being distracted. The best part about these are the comfort, I can wear these all day. They are very light, they stay on my ears. I have put them through a lot already, I got caught in a downpour once for over a mile and these held up just fine despite only being water resistant and not waterproof.I think the audio is excellent, way better than I was expecting. I know others said the older model apparently sounded better. I can't comment on that since I never heard them but these OpenFit AIr's sound incredible for what they are. I LOVE them! The music sounds full and detailed, podcasts sound like they are there with me. Its crazy how good these sound at least to me. I have no issues using them for just casually music listening just because they are THAT comfortable.I also really like the way the look. I got mine in white, I think they are quite stylish and can be used everyday without looking like a hearing aid. The microphones pick up my voice excellent and they do a really nice job getting rid of noisy backgrounds.I really have no complaints about these, if I had to say anything....I found the charging case to be a little flimsily but I'm nitpicking here because it's perfectly serviceable. I wish it had wireless charging for ease of use but it's not a big deal to me, they are $119 - They gotta cut corners somewhere. These were my first time experiencing openfit earbuds and I have to say it was a little bit disorientating being able to hear your music and yet be able to hear everything else around you. I can still hear the little stones on the dirt as I walk while AC/DC is jamming in my ear, I heard the tick tick tick noise from a bicyclist coming up from being me as they were coasting, I can hear squirrels and birds clear as day. It's a very interesting experience and it took me a fair bit to get used to it.I highly recommend these.

Shokz Open Fit Review, Model: T910Overall: For an open-ear set of earbuds, which is exactly what I needed in my office and home environment, these have a great sound – much better, in fact, than I thought they would have. I had expected a sound similar to my AfterShokz bone conduction headphones, but the sound is so much fuller with pretty decent bass, which is configurable with the equalizer in app.I had my reservations about purchasing these because of their “premium” price (even though they were 20% off), but with the return policy on the Shokz site, I took the chance. I can say I will NOT be returning these for anything other than a warranty issue, should it arise. I have no regrets.Fit: The fit took a few tries to get used to, but after the first day I had ... I can say I will NOT be returning these for anything other than a warranty issue, should it arise. I have no regrets.Fit: The fit took a few tries to get used to, but after the first day I had no problem moving them securely into place. You just have to understand how the sound is designed to flow from the earbud to your ear canal. After that, you know exactly how to fit them to your ear. I can’t shake these out of my ears without hurting my neck, so that is good.Sound Quality: Remember, this earbud set is open-ear and will not sound like noise-cancelling, in-ear earbuds - that is not the purpose of this product. If your purpose is high fidelity sound, then purchase headphones made for that purpose.Having said that, the sound of the OpenFit has great treble, decent midtones, and a surprising amount of bass. You can easily tweak these settings in the Shokz app to your preference and save it as a custom EQ setting. I found a sweet spot for my hearing within a minute of customizing the EQ.Phone Calls: The phone calls have been very clear so far on both ends of the conversation. Unlike with my AfterShokz, when I mute my Teams meetings, there is not the annoying beeps from the OpenFit headphones letting me know a hardware mute is in effect. It’s the Microsoft programmers’ fault for that, but I digress.Sound Level: I read on some reviews that the sound was not loud enough. The pair I have get so loud that I have only raised the volume to 80% because it became too uncomfortable. The sound projection is not quite as private as with the AfterShokz, but the sound quality is better. But it will not disturb your cubicle mates unless you have it turned up really loud. At 40% it will not bother them (unless you ticked them off, and then they will have it out for you anyway).Comfort: It is easy for me to forget I have these on, even after eight hours.Multipoint Pairing: It works smoothly as advertised – more smoothly than my AfterShokz.Battery Life: The site states 7 hours per charge, and that is pretty accurate. I use them all day for music, Teams meetings, and phone calls. One side will give out after 7.5 hours, and the other side will last about 45 minutes longer. So, no surprises there. They are very fast charging – I don’t know exactly how fast, but both earbuds were fully charged from 10% to 100% in less than two hours. I forgot to check them sooner than the two-hour mark, so I don’t exactly how fast they charged.Comparison with my Aeropex Aftershokz (Shokz OpenRun):Fit: The AfterShokz dig into the back of your ears when leaning your head back against a seat (airline flights, road trips, high back chair, etc.). OpenFit doesn’t have that issue – they are simply comfortable.Sound Quality: 1) The AfterShokz sound is more private, but OpenFit sound better at lower levels, which makes them almost as private. 2) AfterShokz has little bass response, but OpenFit have a surprising and pleasing amount of bass. 3) When the ambient noise levels are higher, raising the volume on the Openfit earbuds is successful more often than with the AfterShokz – and you don’t risk the bone conduction buzz, either.Comfort: Openfit does not “buzz” your bones and skin at higher levels like AfterShokz do.Battery Life: AfterShokz have a longer battery life, but I don’t care.Comparison Conclusion: I prefer the Shokz OpenFit earbuds for my office and home environments. For me it was a good choice

The Shokz - OpenFit Air Open-Ear True Wireless Earbuds have the ‘open ear’ design that I have been wanting to try. I love me some Bluetooth earbuds, so have used and still using several models from extreme value to premium models. Each has their own strengths, but all of them are ear canal models and still present a barrier to staying in touch with the world around you, even with the “pass through” feature of several models. This ‘open ear’ design is excellent for music, podcasts, and phone calls all while being able to hear and easily communicate with those around you.For times when I want isolation and stronger music, I will use ear canal buds or over the ear cans. Quality of phone calls is good, and I also use the buds for dictation and most recently communicating with all the chat-bots.I use earbuds easily at least several hours a day, and also as a sleep-aid overnight. Since getting these open ear buds, I have found myself using them as much as possible. Even though the overall quality of the sound is not quite the level of ear canal buds, I have found it a nice change of pace to not have something stuck in my ears all the time. I’m just sayin….Greetings from Central Georgia!
I have been looking for something different in the headphone/earbud industry for a while. I have been making due forever mowing the occasionally with headphones, and I have a few over the ear ones I don't mine doing that with occasionally, but I really don't like how hot they are and blocking of my awareness they are of mower sounds. These are the something different. They work a lot like the smart sunglasses I have without the glasses. They rely on bone conduction rather than air conduction of the sound. I hablve a few standard earbuds that clip well to my ear, but again sound dampening. I also, when I am in public walking, I want to know more of what's going on around me. These are the something different. They work a lot like the smart sunglasses I have without the glasses. They rely on bone conduction rather than air conduction of the sound. I took a chance getting these because I had seen a lot on their site about what they were, and they look good there, but I wasn't able to physically test them. The price is not bad for the market they are in for “open ear” or conduction headphones. I see ones that are really affordable 30 to 50, to what I would call mid price (up to 80), and then these that start to fall into the low end premium pricing. I have not tried any of the other earbud models to know how they sound, but I do have a few sets of smart frames that use this technology, and they fall in to mid premium to upper premium models. Sound wise these sound on par with those (clarity wise), and volume wise better because they are closer to the ear region. The frames are generally further in front of the ear Pinna, these are right at that. The sound like a standard ear bud. I detect no major distortions on the standard equilizer setting. There are only 3 other settings (voice, treble boost, and bass boost) and depending on what you are listening to, all can be good, but so far I usually stick with standard. The touch controls are usable, but I find they are not responsive for me many times I try, or there is a pretty noticeable delay. The more I use them, they seem to have less misses. You only have double tap and long hold to work with here, and I have long hold as volume up and down on r and l respectively, and skip and play/pause on r and as double tap respectively. This is the default setting out of the box, and it makes sense. For phone calls, either side double tap answers and hangs up, and volume still is the same on long hold. Call touch response was better than the music for responsiveness. The call is clear and the people on the other end notice I'm hands free, but I do not do not find myself having to repeat myself any more than normal. The fit of these on my ear is good, and are secure. I don't sense any pinching and so far, the longest I've worn then is about 3 hours. They claim 28 hours on a charge. I have not tested that fully, but watching the drop of battery life indicator on the app, if the indicator is accurat, that would be a good estimate. The feel/build quality is fair, the ear hooks and buds themselves seem solid. Overall, I am pleased with these. I can't give this more than 4 stars mainly because the touch response can be less than responsive/delayed ½ star off, the other ½ star is the lack of customizable equilizer and the lack of more music control (ie log hold, single, double, triple tap) which many other standard earbuds at or below this point have. Again, these are different setup and cost to build than a regular bud, but not enough that to not be able to include that. I still reccomend these because these, they seem to fall soundwise as good as a comparable standard earbud, and for me, allow better ambient awareness, the strong advantage these have.
The Shokz - OpenFit Air Open-Ear True Wireless Earbuds are a significant upgrade over the OpenRun headphones (if you use/have experience with those). They sound better, can be louder if that's what you want, have an equalizer option via an app, are more compact, come with the now ubiquitous charging case, etc..Context: I've got a bit of an earbud/headphone thing... I've purchased/used/tested LOTS! I very rarely use headphones unless I'm active- mostly hiking, running or cycling (on a bike path- not in traffic!!) and have a definite rule now that I will only wear "sport headphones/earbuds" that have ear hooks- all others either feel like they're going to fall out- or do fall out! I really like the Shokz products as they allow for stereo sound, but also allow you to ... I really like the Shokz products as they allow for stereo sound, but also allow you to hear what's going on around you (if I wear in-ear sport earbuds, I usually only wear one at a time). I've had a pair of Shokz OpenRun's for a couple years as my go to running/hiking headphones. The Shokz - OpenFit Air Open-Ear True Wireless Earbuds are super comfortable and have really solid sound quality. Compared to the bone conduction sound- the sound is much richer, more bass-capable and don't cause the vibrations/tickling at higher volumes. All of this while maintaining the "open" experience that doesn't totally shut out the outside world. Note: if you're trying to shut the world out- these aren't for you- that's not the purpose of these. The touch controls have been reliable and straightforward, the app is simple and pairing couldn't have been easier.
My wife was actually much more excited about these than I was. She has issues with most in-ear earbuds because they hurt her ears after a while and she can only wear in-ear earbuds for a short time. These don't actually go in your ear at all so there really is no pain for her at all.I was a little concerned about the sound quality when I first tried them but I honestly have not had a problem at all. I also like the fact that because they don't go in the ear they don't really block other sound. That has been great when I've taken my dog on a walk or run, since she is mostly off-leash but I want to be sure I can tell where she is and what she's doing as I'm walking. With my other earbuds they block so much of the surrounding noises that I can't use them when walking ... MoreMy wife was actually much more excited about these than I was. With my other earbuds they block so much of the surrounding noises that I can't use them when walking my dog because I can't here her at all. The obvious downside is that they don't work well when mowing the lawn or on an airplane where the constant outside noise is needing to be blocked and noise cancellation is key. But different uses call for different devices.I've had no issues with the earpieces that go around the ears. They're comfortable over long periods of time and don't seem to move much or have a problem falling off when running. The charger has a magnetic system to get the earpieces locked in place and aligned to charge. I have had an occasional issue with the magnets pulling in to tight too soon and the ear pieces getting tangled with each other and making it harder to get the earbuds lined up for proper charging. Never a true problem but just a little irritating on occasion when I'm trying to put them away quickly. The only real problem I've had with these earbuds is that the controls seem to get messed up on Windows devices. When trying to use them with my computer for a conference call, the volume controls constantly lock up. This means that switching between programs on my computer can cause it to be stuck with the volume too high or too low. I finally just gave up with my computer.I've had no problems at all so far on my phone, which is really where I want to use these anyway.Overall a great option for anyone who needs to be able to hear the sounds around them while listening to their music, or for anyone who can't wear in-ear options.
I am a licensed mental health counselor, and spend all day on my computer or phone conducting telehealth therapy sessions. Due to this, I wear earbuds ALL DAY LONG. it is very important that the earbuds I use be comfortable and allow my clients to hear me clearly (and I can hear them).I have literally tried 10-15 different ear bud brands/models throughout the five years that I’ve been working remotely. Throughout this time, I have become increasingly irritated with ear buds that go into my ear — so I have been searching for an over-the-ear ear bud for about a year. I previously bought (and subsequently returned the more expensive Shokz earbuds but ultimately decided that the performance of that product did not justify the higher cost. However, they were adequate. Once I saw that they released a lower priced model, I thought it would be worth a try.I have been using these earbuds daily for over a month and am pretty satisfied with their performance. The sound is clear (although I tend to use them on the highest volume setting so I guess it would be nice if they were louder). They connect flawlessly to both my laptop and my phone — as I often switch back and forth. Most ear buds can only connect to one device at a time.Although the Shokz app allows you to customize some of the settings, the touch feature is somewhat limited in what it can do. The only other cons are: they fit a little loose and sometimes get knocked off my head; they lack a locating feature (such as “find my phone” compatibility or “Tile” integration); and lack voice command options. My previous favorite earbuds were the Beats (with the ear hook as regular earbuds do not stay in my ear). However, since I prefer not to have something in my ear canal all day (as it starts to feel icky after a few hours), these earbuds are now my favorite.
The Shokz OpenFit Air have now become my daily use headphones because of how many different scenarios I can use them with. I'm a long distance runner and finding the perfect balance between ambient sound, comfortability, and battery life in a pair of headphones has always been a difficult search that I can now happily say is over. These headphones don't sit directly inside the ear canal but hover over the ear canal to allow ambient noise to hear your surroundings which is great when running outdoors. I was a little bit skeptical on how they would sound but sound quality was impressive. The bass is lackluster and turning on the bass through the equalizer only diminished the sound quality so I keep it on default setting. Although they don't sit directly in the ear ... The bass is lackluster and turning on the bass through the equalizer only diminished the sound quality so I keep it on default setting. Although they don't sit directly in the ear canal, I never had an issue with volume and clarity of the music or podcast I was listening to. There is a bit of sound bleed at high volumes but I also use these in an office setting to be able to hear when someone calls my name from across the office and they are perfect for privately listening to your tunes while still being alert to your coworkers.Since they don't sit in your ear canal, I never experienced fatigue in my ear from wearing them for long periods of time. They are some of the most comfortable pair of headphones that I have ever owned. I also never once felt like they were going to fall off or felt the need to readjust them on my runs. One downside of the headphones is that the touch controls for playing/pausing, skipping tracks, and adjusting volume takes a little getting use to as there is more force required to activate it than I was use to with my other pair of headphones. On another positive note, these headphones can be connected to 2 devices at the same time which works perfectly for me since I use 2 phones, 1 for work and 1 for personal use. I can be listening to my tunes from my personal phone and get a work call that I can answer through my headphones and reconnect my tunes once I'm done with my conversation.Overall, these have been the best pair of headphones I have owned for running that have the added benefit of also being great for the office. I look forward to many miles with these.
Sound quality - If you're someone who's looking for noise cancelling headphones or really want to just hear the music then these obviously are not for you. But if you're someone who wants situational awareness and quality sound then they're perfect. The quality of sound is really good, especially considering they're open ear! When I use them whilst running I can hear the music really well whilst also being aware of what's going on around me. I use them at home when my other half is in a meeting (as we share an office space) and in this quieter space you can really hear how good the quality is! I now prefer them as my at-home use headphones too when needed as the sound is fantastic and it's really helpful to be able to still hear if the doorbell goes etc. I also use ... If I did run on my own I'd run without music so I could hear my surroundings but listening to music and/or running guides makes such a difference when running and having that ability of both listening to music and hearing my surroundings is really reassuring.Fit - I wasn't sure I'd like them as I thought they'd be quite fiddly, but once you've put them on a couple of times it's really easy and they stay on really well with no risk of them falling off whilst running. They're a really comfortable design and the silicone soft touch finish on them feels lovely. Also as I use them for general use as well as running I was worried how they might sit on my ears with earrings on too but they're absolutely fine (see photos).Overall I really recommend these headphones, both for running and general use around the home (or out and about if you value situational awareness more than noise cancellation like me).
