These headphones are amazing but they fall short on at least two counts.First, do not expect a replacement for your Apple AirPods. You have to remind your phone every time that they are connected when you get a phone call. Expect a moment of having to change from your phone to shokz before saying hello to a call. Also, if you take them off, they will stay connected and you’ll get calls and not know it. If they worked a bit more intelligently like AirPods, they would earn another star.Second, and most importantly, do not buy if you’re expecting the same sound experience as your favorite headphones. The bone conduction tech is sweet and the surround sound sensation is neat. It’s like the sound is in your head, which I like. I can barely hear them over normal day to day household noise at max volume, say nothing for how useless they are in the car if you have a window open, hvac blowing or have a loud car.Bought mine to use at work so that I can be OSHA compliant, but they are very quiet. Unfortunately I’m on the fence to return them or not. I completely love them otherwise! They are definitely more comfortable for longer periods than earbuds.

I consider myself as a music lover and I really care about audio quality and natural sound. I own a lot of speakers, IEM's and sound systems which make me confident in this review.I would like to start with the fact that I don't use it for sports, but I use it for work since I need to have awareness of my surroundings all the time. I use it in an office environment where you can hear many people talk and I keep the volume of the headset mostly between 50-65% where I can play some background music and be able to work and listen to others which is fantastic.Sound Quality: The audio quality of bone conduction is not that good, let's be honest, you get little bass and its more focused toward the midrange. For the Shokz, the headphones sound is actually natural, and if you want to make it better, use earplugs but it will defeat its purpose of being aware of your surroundings.Fit & Comfort: Well, I ordered the mini and it fits me perfectly and I even forget that I am wearing it. I can sleep with the headphone on my head too which is so nice. It is apparent that it is very comfortable for me at least. Conclusion: It is the best solution for my case and I would really recommend it.

This is my second pair -- I stupidly broke the first pair I bought by sticking them in my pocket without the case, and it snapped where the earpieces connect to the band, so they just kind of flop uselessly around. I immediately bought this pair to replace them because these are so useful for what I need -- I've got a 2 year old and have basically used these headphones for most of her life, so that I can have my Nanit app on my phone and still hear it (or the monitor itself) while listening to podcasts (music is harder b/c it tends to drown the monitor out) while still being aware of the world at large.I've also loved these for working outside (can still hear neighbors or the delivery person if they start talking to you), going on dog walks (can still hear cars), ... MoreThis is my second pair -- I stupidly broke the first pair I bought by sticking them in my pocket without the case, and it snapped where the earpieces connect to the band, so they just kind of flop uselessly around. I've got a pair of AirPod Pros that I also really love, but they serve a different purpose -- those are for canceling the noise outside, these are for allowing it to coexist with what I'm listening to. I still use them both depending on what I'm doing -- if I went for a run outside, I'd use the Shokz without a doubt. At the gym or on a bus, AirPods. It also works well for hands-free for phone calls, although sometimes it picks up extra noise compared to other headseats I've had. They're also more comfortable than most ear buds I've used (although they can wear on the top of your ears, similar to glasses, and they don't work the best if you're wearing glasses/sunglasses).This version also has a big improvement over the first gen OpenRun headphones -- those would make an annoying BEEP if you got out of range of your device, and you couldn't stop it without turning the headphones off. Every time I went out to the garage for something and forgot my phone, BEEP... BEEP... BEEP. The new ones beep once and that's it.Sound quality is fine, battery life has been great. Just don't stick them in your pants pockets!

I purchased the OpenRun Pro Mini & am happy with the fit and new situational awareness while cycling & listening to music or podcasts. Spoken voices are extremely clear, but keep your expectations realistic as music will also be clear but lack deep bass due to the fact that its bone conduction does not use the air in your ear canals to create a bass effect against your eardrum. There is also a slight amount of sound leakage at high volumes, despite the technology using your jawbone to transmit sound instead of a traditional “speaker”. It’s pretty trippy to be able to hear music and podcasts clearly in your head while still being able to hear your surroundings with your ears! There is also a slight amount of sound leakage at high volumes, despite the technology using your jawbone to transmit sound instead of a traditional “speaker”. It’s pretty trippy to be able to hear music and podcasts clearly in your head while still being able to hear your surroundings with your ears! I routinely do 5-6 hour bike rides and these easily last the entire ride and recharge back to 100% in less than an hour afterward. However, I recently did a 9 hour ride and was disappointed to have the battery die at about 8.5 hours instead of the manufacturer-claimed 10 hours. I did have the volume up fairly high because of headwinds, so that probably drained the battery faster than under ideal conditions. The only significant drawback I've found from these are that moderate volume levels can be drowned out by wind turbulence in your ears created from strong headwinds or high speeds while cycling. You can turn the volume up to adequately compensate, but then you effectively lose much of the ability to hear your surroundings anymore, which is how traditional earbuds are all the time.In my opinion, the advantages greatly outweigh the disadvantages and I really hope these last a long time for me - the 2 year warranty tells me Shokz is confident they will.
These headphones are a game changer. The sound quality isn't great for music - it's sending your sound through bone, after all, but they're absolutely perfect for watching movies, videos and phone conversations. The sound is clear and true enough for these purposes. If I want to immerse myself in music, I'll use my Bose. The battery life is great for the small size. I've worn them all day and I've not had the battery go dead yet. They charge very quickly, too. Replacement Shokz cables are available, too.The main feature of these headphones is the ability to hear your surroundings or have a conversation while listening to music or videos. They're perfect for walking, jogging, bicycling or just staying aware. These are not meant to cancel noise, but just the opposite, and they do their job well. One of the most important features is the comfort. This is huge on my list because I have small ear canals, and I've found only a couple ear phones prior that would not only stay in my ears, but do it fairly comfortably. Those were both made by Bose, and one is discontinued. Even those would hurt my ears after a couple hours. The Shokz Open Run Pro headphones are the most comfortable I've EVER had. I literally forget I have them on. I've worn them for ten hours and suffered zero discomfort. That alone outweighs any forfeiture of sound quality. In short, these headphones do what they're meant to do and they do it brilliantly.
I am not the obvious target market for these headphones as I wanted to use them while pottering in the garden and while sunbathing rather than while down the gym! Unlike most other headphones and earphones I've tried they actually stay on while gardening and they don't make my ears sweaty when I'm in the sun. I've had no problems wearing these at the same time as sunglasses. I can even wear them while lying down after adjusting the rear headband position a little. In fact, they are so comfortable I sometimes forget I'm wearing them. The sound quality is pretty good for spoken word and also music too. These earphones come with a simple on/off bass enhancement feature but I've found that adjusting the contact points actually has more effect and can further improve how music sounds. I would recommend these headphones for people who want comfort plus reasonable audio quality and who don't want to be totally isolated from what's happening around them while on calls or listening to podcasts, audio books or music. You can try them out in store before purchase. The bone conduction technology and, in particular, it's implementation in these headphones is something of a game changer in my opinion.
I absolutely love the Shokz Open Run Premium Bone Conduction Open-Ear Headphones. The sound is clear and crisp. I have yet to receive a complaint about the sound of my voice on the other end of a phone call. That said, I have learned when not in use I cannot just leave them on my head over my ears and resting on my temporal bone. I have become acutely aware that I am missing sounds from my environment when I do. To be clear this design is leaps and bounds improved over my Beats by Dr. Dre Powerbeats Earbud Noise-Cancelling Bluetooth Earphones with the tether between the two ear buds where that design directly blocks the ear canal. Until you were the Shokz you will most likely have a hard time understanding the dampened sense of sound - it is very subtle. When I ask other Shokz customers about this sensation they look at me sideways. Some have admitted later they understood what I was talking about. The solution for me is simple. I simply drop them to my neck if I am moving about or place them on my desk when working. The only other issue is with connecting them to my apple phone my mac book and my hp laptop. I was spoiled from the relationship between Apple and Beats. They simply just connected without having to constantly reconnect like the Shokz. Hope you found this helpful.

This obviously defeats the open ear concept and convenience but is worth it for my use case.Comfort wise, these headphones are great for sitting at a desk or when moving around, you won’t notice them. However, I haven’t yet figured out how to comfortably watch a movie while resting my head. The gap between your head and the headphones is required to keep the headphones in the right place. I don't think there is a good solution for these headphones but I look forward to seeing where bone conduction headphones go in the future.Technology wise, the multi-point pairing works well only if you plan to connect to two personal devices. My wife frequently complains that my headphones take over audio output of the Apple TV when I don’t want them to. You can disable connection to the second device, but it isn’t persistent after you turn off your headphones, and they default to connected. Shocks please fix this.
These arrived a week ago and I am so impressed with the quality of the sound. Over the years I have tried various in ear ear buds and headphones. But the Headphones are often uncomfortable in warm weather even though they do give excellent sound and in ear buds, well, lets just say they generally speaking are rubbish. Will never go back to traditional ear pods, although i will keep my over ear headphones for ultimate sound experience, these come a very close second.I cannot reiterate how good the sound reproduction is given their size - Must be the bone induction that achieves this. That one issue, and i appreciate these are mainly targeted at joggers or other activities. But the headband around the back of the head is solid and unless you have a massive head makes relaxing back against a chair a tad in convenient. But a small adjustment to head position resolves this.Another minor point the charger is a proprietary magnetic cable pity it is not the much more common USB C port.
I bought and own a pair of SHOKZ OpenComms, they were amazingly comfortable and amazing and had a great canceling mic. I couldn't be happier with them until I wasn't on the mic at all! They still had warranty, the company told me 3 times that I would get a replacement, but 6 months to a year and still haven't received a replacement!! Took a cheap used bone inductor for a while and then needed another pair but no shokz replacement! I was hesitant to order anything from shokzi again. I did some research and chose another brand. Mojowa, excellent quality, amazing bluetooth range, decent sound, ok microphone, but fits me terribly, they hurt! no matter what I did I couldn't make them comfortable, I regretted ordering!I kept thinking about the comfort of my old shokz, ... MoreI bought and own a pair of SHOKZ OpenComms, they were amazingly comfortable and amazing and had a great canceling mic. I decided to stay away from open com though, but gave in and ordered a SHOKZ OpenRun Pro from them!Almost not!! but happy!I can wear them all day and even forget I have them on!!!!full disclosure; I use my shokz mainly for driving and construction work for mobile use, listening to music is secondary, for your headphones audio critics they probably don't measure up to sony or bose but the sound is much improved from my first open com and the best in everything. inductions I've had!(A little note/tip about bone induction, if they're not loud enough for you, if you're in a loud environment, wear earplugs or soundproof headphones, they're loud! Sounds crazy. , I know, but really!I don't like headphones or things in my ears, and I also like to be aware of my surroundings, so bone induction is the only way for me!Great battery life and fast charging, great. all day comfort, great sound improvement and great microphone.SHOKZ OpenRun Pro!is by far the best bone induction headphones for me!I want to be a shokz user forever,I hope the quality surpasses my last pair of shokz or at least the customer service is more reliable! !because so far the SHOKZ OpenRun Pros are great!Stay tuned!!.
