Sigma Guitars originated as an offshoot of Martin Guitars. Designed to compete with the rising number of Japanese and imported guitars in the '70s, Martin licensed reproduction of their higher value American made acoustics for production in Japan and later, in China. Discontinued back in 2007, Sigma has been revived and is back and better than ever! The Sigma SIG-GJA-SG200-AN+ is a super versatile and incredibly inspiring electro-acoustic suitable for players of all styles and standards. With a Solid Sitka Spruce top on Flame Maple back and sides, this classic jumbo offers a rich and detailed tone, great projection and crystal clear note definition. The Maple neck features a Micarta fingerboard, perfect for strumming big chords or more delicate fingerstyle work, the Sigma SIG-GJA-SG200-AN+ is a really comfortable and precise guitar. Equipped with a Fishman Sonitone preamp, this guitar is ready to hit the stage. Great value and classic styling from Sigma.

Found brand by researching internet. I have Epiphone EJ-200 as well. After watching reviews on you tube decided to buy off net. Absolutely excellent buy.

I purchased one of these recently - previously owned the Epiphone model. I could not believe the tone and playability let alone the attention to detail. Needless to say the Epi is going! Do your homework - google/youtube - you sincerely wont be disappointed- genuinely the best few hundred ive spent in a while... (Mine is one of the originals with Rosewood bridge and fingerboard before they changed to Richlite but one of my Martins i have uses Richlite and has a tone to die for!) I love playing my Sigma and if needs be would replace it without a 2nd thought!! If you have a spare 4-5k get a Gibson, however, after playing one recently in my local guitar shop, as nice as it was and cool it would be to own, my money will be staying in my pocket for now..........

The guitar arrived later than expected. The action was very high and the neck relief was excessive. The truss rod required adjustment. The stcock strings were awful. There was a buzzing sound from within the gutar which turned out to be the wiring/connections to the sonnitone pick up ( I have removed the system completely anyway ).The overall external finish is very good looking, through the soundhole the internal construction seemed at first glance to be quite tidy however out of curiosity I stuck my phone inside and took a few pictures underside of the top. The bracing is quite rough and there is a lot of untidy glue inplaces ( I have a Yamaha L series chinese and internally the construction by comparison is a work of art! ). With all that in mind having set the guitar up it plays and sounds well probably deserving of more than three stars but at this price point I would have expected it to be nicer to play straight out of the box.
