Works as advertised. Changes the size of the camera greatly. Interesting look, looks like a cinema camera. Would recommend getting a hand grip mounted in the tripod hole. Makes holding the whole camera easier, when the viewfinder is attached. Can be a bit unwieldy without the hand grip

I was a little hesitant to buy this view finder because of the added dimensions you have to deal with- though after some use, it will be hard for me to go back to the traditional screen again. I love the clarity I get in the brightest sunlight along with the large adjustable diopter eye piece which totally frees me from my glasses. This is a whole new camera experience that allows me to take purposeful photos and less random shots because I cant see the scree in all lighting conditions. The biggest difficulty is the fixed horizontal angle of the viewer, so there is a lot of me getting down on my knees to get the right angle

You should see what I see. It is like I got laser operation for my eyes. I can see everything better with this gadget. I remembered my first Canon AE-1. Fits to SmallRig cage perfectly.

If this wasn't such a brilliant viewfinder, it would be easy to hate it for its gigantic size ... but the view through this thing is like no other camera. If you already use a nice large external monitor, then of course you do not need this. But if you prefer to compose at eye level, then this will give you the best experience, bar none.The only negative thing that could be said is that this viewfinder is not easy to put on and off quickly, since it screws into a provided base plate. My solution was to forego the base plate and simply use a cage which allows this viewfinder to attach directly. This way, I just remove the camera from the cage, rather than the viewfinder from the camera, whenever I do not want to use this viewfinder.
It is balky, unusual but necessary for the Sigma fp if you like to try manual focus lenses! On fp.It is expensive and makes the smallest full frame camera huge like one of the old Hasselblad!!if you have the fp and you want to enjoy it then you need it ! So buy it even if it is balky and expensive !...
Knocked off a star, because I feel like this should have cost about a hundred dollars less than it did.That said, build quality is exceptional and the experience of using it is sublime, like you are "inside" the scene. Very helpful for manual focus, nearly essential for shooting in bright sunlight or for those of us with less than perfect vision.Only other con is the size. Really hope Sigma come up with an auxiliary EVF to keep the kit small.
After trying it with a couple lenses, I found it a wonderful match when working with 45mm lens (mine is Sigma 45 2.8 gd dn). The magnification on both your left & right eyes are exactly the same. It was such a pleasure of viewing feeling and shooting experience. Bring me back to the date when I used the voigtlander r3a + 40mm. I think it will be the same experience for the dp2q + 30mm.
