Everything in my order came exactly as ordered and in perfect condition! At first I thought some pieces were missing from the order but they were just inside another box. And my order came very quickly even during the pandemic which was a nice surprise. I have enjoyed using the Cameo 4 so far. Set up was easy, no problems with the bluetooth or getting the software to recognize the machine. There is so much more to learn about what it can do! My one suggestion would be to include an actual technical manual. It's hard because I guess what I'm really suggesting is not just a manual about the machine itself but how to use the silhouette studio software to do different cuts with the different blades. My one suggestion would be to include an actual technical manual. It's hard because I guess what I'm really suggesting is not just a manual about the machine itself but how to use the silhouette studio software to do different cuts with the different blades. I was able to find the pdf manuals online but they don't really go into much detail. For example, I was excited to use the rotary blade for fabric but I was having a hard time getting the software to perform the cut and it was because I didn't realize that you have to select the blue rotary cut button in the software for the cut instead of the red regular cut like is used with the autoblade. I was able to search the web and find the answers because of many people's nice videos and reviews and things. But I guess I still would like to have my own detailed manual to read through and refer to. But I also understand that in these modern times, most people maybe don't want another thick printed manual taking up space. One thing I didn't realize when I made my purchase was that the 2 mm kraft blade only works in the first cartridge which means that you can't use the higher force settings which are only options with blades used in the second catridge. The 3 mm kraft blade is for the higher force-capable second cartridge. There are still a lot of the blade settings and things that I don't really understand and that is another reason why I think a detailed print manual about each blade and the technical specifications of what it can and can't do would be nice. But maybe part of the fun is just trying things out. On a more philosophical note, I've been realizing that it can be overwhelming to dig in and get started with all the different projects you can do on this machine. I think may partly it's from feeling afraid that what I try might be a total flop, but I think the key is to just dive in and try things and learn by trying and doing. And it might take several tries and versions of what I'm making before it is exactly how I want it. Everybody probably already knows all that but I figured I'd mention it since I've been thinking about it. What I don't want to happen is to let feeling overwhelmed or worried that something won't turn out to keep me from actually using the machine. Overall very happy and pleased with my order! Thanks!

It cuts quickly but is exceptionally LOUD! It is so loud that I worry that there is something wrong with it. And I checked, there is no tape left on the carriage that I can find. I also have an original Cameo and Cameo 3. They are not nearly as loud. The Cameo 4 has a locking mechanism on the right roller that works much better and doesn't drift from its locked position like the Cameo 3. A great improvement in my mind. I can let the machine cut without constantly babysitting it. Wish I could add one to my Cameo 3 which I will keep as an additional cutter. I found an add-on that can be 3-d printed on thingaverse.com for that. So far, I have only cut cardstock and paper. I am on my 3rd auto blade and second mat making 22 fairly elaborate Christmas cards. I don't know ... MoreIt cuts quickly but is exceptionally LOUD! I look forward to cutting thicker materials such as ceramic fiber paper and silver foil for glass fusing and acetate for stencils. I bought many of the specialty blades for this purpose. My other cameos may have been able to cut those materials. I never tried. I felt that the additional pressure capability of the Cameo 4 might cut the fiber paper easier. I have successfully cut acetate on my Cameo 3. I gave this Cameo 4 four stars because of the loudness of the machine. It's not only annoying but I am hoping that it doesn't mean it will have problems in the near future. Otherwise, I am quite happy with my purchase.

This is my second Cameo. I bought the 4 as an upgrade from my original Cameo for paper crafting and the occasional vinyl project. The 4 is a complete frustration. It cuts poorly. Maybe it’s the new auto blades. Maybe it’s the machine. Whether using the auto cut or the manual cut options (where you select the depth, speed and multicut options), the machine will not give me a through and through cut. With a new blade, I can send a cut file 4 or more times (usually more!!) increasing the depth each time and the machine will not cut through card stock. In most cases the back of the card stock is barely scored or not scored at all after many cuts. I’m wasting hours and paper recutting and then hand cutting with an exacto knife. This was an expensive purchase. I don’t ... MoreThis is my second Cameo. I bought the 4 as an upgrade from my original Cameo for paper crafting and the occasional vinyl project. Cameo 4 pro owner here. I have so far had the best and Worst customer service experience.Until the moment they got my machine (nearly 2 months after me ruining close to 50’ of vinyl and testing my butt off thinking it was me). I was told if i “deposited” $500ish theyd send me a new machine before they received my machine. I dont have that much after spending $100s of vinyl and subscriptions to their MONEY GRAB company. They get my machine and tell me it will be 2-4 weeks before they either fix my machine or send a new one and REFUSE to just send me a new one. Dont waste your time or money with this company. SVG files shouldnt cost money. Trust me you can create your own files or find free ones on the Internet with a little bit of effort. Also subscribing ... MoreCameo 4 pro owner here. I have owned 2 cutters in the past. The wishblade and the eclips. This was easy peasy set up withflawless cutting. Michaels customer service was fantastic. My sales rep was Maria in the Cambridge MA store and she was fabulous! No they don't put returns back on the shelf. They send them back to the manufacturer who gives them full credit. My machine was spanky brand new and everything worked right out of the box.You need to know how to use a computer, download files and have a basic understanding of how software works. I followed the online videos and had my machine going in about 20-30 minutes. This was an upgrade for me from the original Silhouette Cameo. I used it for the first time yesterday and it was light years ahead of my old one. I was able to make multiple cuts using different types of vinyl (heat transfer, glitter, smooth, etc) in less than half the time with NO issues at all. I used to struggle with settings and not cutting deep enough or too much. This machine automatically adjusts the blade for you. I went back and forth on whether to upgrade my Silhouette or to switch to Cricut (which I have used and is extremely user-friendly for beginners) but I decided to give the new Cameo a try since I have used it for years and I am so glad I did. I prefer the Silhouette Studio program to the Cricut Design Center and I like that the Cameo is more reasonably priced, comes with a roller tray (additional $50 to add on to the Cricut Maker 3's already higher price tag) and allows you to cut up to 60 feet (720") vs the Cricut's limit of 2 feet (24"). This model (Cameo 4) also has the ability to hold a pen to create designs and cut fabric and other materials. I am very happy with this purchase and I am excited for all I will able to do with it.
Worst purchase ever, it doesn't register properly if at all, tried troubleshooting and looking up advice, following support but it clearly is a shockingly designed machine! Have wasted so many expensive vinyl and ink with its mistakes. It was supposed to make life easier! Ended up backto hand cutting everything!!! Tried to take back to Spotlight Maroochydore after explaining the faults to 3 different people and all our troubleshooting they said they can't refund my money?!?!!! They need to talk to Silhouette first which could take a month! Unacceptable horrible service Spotlight Maroochydore. I'm not happy to be losing over $400+ I'm sure the consumer affairs won't be happy that you wouldn't give me a refund for a sub par product. Stay away from this machine!
The Silhouette Cameo 4 is a good value. I don't have an internet connection in the shop where I use the cutter but once I got the software downloaded from another location the cutter worked great. A friend helped me set it up and showed me how to cut. He has a Cricut Pro and stated the Silhouette has a lot of more options and the software is more advanced, more like a CAD program. He also told me the Cricut needed an internet connection to operate whereas the Silhouette does not. I live in the country and internet service has not reached me yet.
Long time silhouette owner here, I’ve had a cameo 2 since 2017 and a cameo 3 last year and now this cameo 4. I’m pretty disappointed in this new one.The good:-It’s faster-Separate channel for using pensThe bad:-It has a high pitched hiss noise when the machine is on, even when it isn’t cutting.-they got rid of the screen, so you cannot press “repeat job”, you have to go back to the computer to repeat. Cameo 3 can do “repeat job”-Bluetooth doesn’t work-half the time when I send a job to the cutter, it tells me the tool could not be detected. The new model has a sensor to know what tool is being used but this causes me more troubles and slows down my work flow.I need another one to keep up with orders but I think I’d rather get a used Cameo 3 for $100 ... MoreLong time silhouette owner here, I’ve had a cameo 2 since 2017 and a cameo 3 last year and now this cameo 4.
