I've been using Silicon Power NVMe drives to upgrade MAC's with an adaptor. But recent SP NVMe drives aren't being detected at all in a MAC (work fine in a PC). Although the model numbers are identical, the PCB's are definitely different. So give these a miss for MAC upgrades.

I will be purchasing another M.2 drive when prices come down a bit more on the larger (>1TB) drives. The 256 GB drive is plenty for Windows and any basic programs (MS Office, etc.) that you need on a computer, and the second M.2 drive will replace my mechanical drive. The mechanical drives will be in RAID/NAS for backup, so no wasted hardware!

I had both the A60 and A80 models for more than half year and both working fine. This A60 is slower, but it is not a con as it works at the speed listed under the specifications for a lower price than A80 . I understand it is the responsibly of motherboard makers to provide the 3mm screw/standoff , but still would like to have the drive makers provide that as not everyone will have that handy ( particularly for those bought pre-built PCs).Nothing too exciting about this drive but nothing too bad either.

Buy if you don't have a tempered glass panel. Don't buy if you have one. Trust me, it's not worth it. I tried taping over the led with blackout/electrical tape and it's still extremely noticeable and lights up my room during the night. Buy another M.2 SSD.

I have purchased several of these Silicon Power 2TB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe TLC SSD's for upgrading client PC's (HP Elitebook 840 G3 & G4 notebooks). I get similar speed performance compared to the Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD's but the specs indicate that the Silicon Power SSD's have a longer MTBF and Warranty. Since These SSD's are main OS drives in i7 notebooks with applications where there are a lot of read/write cycles, I prefer the TLC NAND SSD's which can sustain (supposedly) a greater number of read/write cycles before cell failure. Length of ownership has not been long enough to make a true assessment of longevity. I can only state that of the four SSD's purchased, none had infant mortality. I normally do fresh installs of the OS and drivers on the notebooks. The HP Elitebooks recognize the Win 10 OS immediately even after changing out the RAM and the SSD. Windows 7 installs still require a product key for install (Just like always). If I have to clone the OS drive, I use Macrium Reflect; even for Samsung SSD's since Samsung Magician has a bad reputation for drive cloning (just what I have read and heard from others so YMMV). In conclusion, I would recommend these SSD's and have purchased them several times.they are a great value when compared to other reputable Gen 3X4 PCIe M.2 2280 NVMe SSD's.

I personally always buy silicon power hard drives because it's a brand I know will always work. If your benchmarking faster speed drives are obviously a better choice but 99% of people won't see a difference in speeds

Was in simple packaging, easy to install, recognized right away by Windows 10 21h2. Used it to upgrade the laptop I am giving my great-niece for college. Sped up disk access by multiples over the low-speed HDD that came stock. Will make the laptop great for her going to college in the fall.
