Silicon Power Armor A30 External Hard Drive 1000 GB Black
Wrap it and go. The Armor A30's protective silica gel bubbles, which are symmetrically placed around the perimeter, transform into exterior slots for the cable to be stored and also function as a handle. This convenient wrap-around cable design prevents cable misplacement and allows for easy portability as a handle function – so you can just wrap it and go. Military-grade protection from daily mishaps. The Armor A30 incorporates a shock-resistant silica gel design, from the internal structure to the exterior surface, adding an extra shield to withstand drops and bumps. Furthermore, it has passed testing in compliance with the stringent US military MIL-STD-810G (transit drop test) standards, providing tough and durable protection from the mishaps of daily life. A neat and functional pattern. The Armor A30 features a distinguished yet subtle hexagonal pattern that covers the surface. This design helps to protect it from scratches that naturally occur from regular use. It's a neat pattern that shines in the light while also doubling as a completely functional feature. Super-speed USB 3.2 Gen 1: Edit, transfer, move on. With super-speed USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, the Armor A30 delivers swift read and write speeds. Up to 5Gbps cuts the time needed to edit or transfer large files, including HD graphics and videos, allowing you to get the job done faster so you can move on to the next project.

Owned for only a few weeks. I am using it and it works well, seems quite rugged..My only complaint is the rubber retainers that hold the USB 3.0 cables to the drive case's perimeter routinely fall our. Just a nuisance and they can be re-installed. Easy to lose them..The USB 3.0 cable is a tad short but workable {too short for a good sized tower}. You can order longer cables as this is a standard cable industry wide. I have used a 3 foot cable and the drive still worked {buy quality cables!}..Chris.Milford, N.H.

Now, it might just be me...but I can't get these to close right. Bought two, and will use them both, but I won't buy again. The harddrives seem to go into the rubber part of the enclosure fine, but the outer parts don't seem to want to close in. There is significant space around them after putting in the screws.

I was looking for an external hard drive to free up space on my laptop. I found this on Amazon. It is advertised as shock and water resistant. This is a plus, as i plan to use it to bring photos to a family reunion. I haven't tested this aspect, but the construction feels solid with silicon corners. There is a short video on the amazon product page. The 1Tb ends up being about 970gb. It is fast! I transferred over 40,000 files in less than 20 minutes. It comes with a short 3.0 USB cord that clips around the edge of the hard drive for convenient carry. So far, I love it!

I've used a lot of 1T External Hard Drives. Silicon Power is my favorite brand by far! They really do well if you drop them and they last for years. As a habit, I only like to fill mine up to half full or 700gb max and then get a new one. These are the best brand I've used and I don't see a reason to change back to another brand again. GREAT VALUE for a GREAT PRICE!! I love how the cord doesn't get fidgety and stop working either (like some of the micro inputs) These USB to USBs are awesome and FAST! I work directly off of mine.
Quiet and quick. Comes with everything you need. Holds the usb cord around it. Has the space to backup your hard drive and work.
It was fast getting to me and once opened it up it was in great condition plugged it into my computer and tested it out by putting a few things on it and then removed the external hard drive and replugged it in my stuff was still on there. So far it's been awesome.
It looks just as described so far Ive saved my school projects on it , it was easy and fast. I love the appearance and I didnt know that it holds the usb cable as well so theyre always together. So far so good
The Review: The packaging, is a simple box which show the portable drive thru a window at the front as well as some features and specs on the back The Armor A30 does have an identifying mark on it which is the Silicon Power logo on the top followed by the word "armor" on the back it states it's a 500gb drive which is more then enough space for a portable drive in my opinion… The portable drive does come with an Instruction manual in English which tells you how to use this drive a usb to usb which comes attached to drive there is no carrying case which would of been nice but not really needed since the case is a tough case Conclusion: So yes the drive is inexpensive for a portable drive but is it even worth it? I would say yes I've used many hard drives and I have to ... MoreThe Review: The packaging, is a simple box which show the portable drive thru a window at the front as well as some features and specs on the back The Armor A30 does have an identifying mark on it which is the Silicon Power logo on the top followed by the word "armor" on the back it states it's a 500gb drive which is more then enough space for a portable drive in my opinion… The portable drive does come with an Instruction manual in English which tells you how to use this drive a usb to usb which comes attached to drive there is no carrying case which would of been nice but not really needed since the case is a tough case Conclusion: So yes the drive is inexpensive for a portable drive but is it even worth it? I would say yes I've used many hard drives and I have to see I love the speed I've empty most of my hard drives and cleared some my cloud drives to this drive and I keep it with me and in my Think Tank my 2nd Brain bag if you have a lot files you might even want to get the 1TB drive So in all it’s not bad for a Portable The final score averages out to be a 10 out of 10
I used this drive to make a bootable Macrium partition to create drive images directly to it without booting Windows entirely. So far, I have had no issues with having various computers (even old ones) boot from it.
