The compact CS381 storage enclosure can be placed either vertically or horizontally to fit anywhere. A total of eight hot-swappable removable frame slots for 2.5-/3.5-inch data media are located directly behind the front flap. An adapted backplane is used for this purpose, whereby SATA and SAS interfaces are supported. This ensures high compatibility with modern hard disks and SSDs. In order to protect the data from unauthorized access, the front flap can be secured with a Kensington lock. In addition to the eight drive cages in the front, four further 2.5-inch mounting slots are located inside the case, which is designed for Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX and Mini-DTX mainboards. The SST-CS381 also has four expansion slots that allow the installation of expansion cards with a maximum length of 267 mm. SFX or SFX-L power supplies can be installed for power supply. For efficient cooling, two long-life 120 mm fans with 1,300 rpm at only 28 dB(A) are pre-installed in the rear of the housing. On the left side panel, the Silverstone SST-CS381 offers additional mounting space for two 120 mm or three 80 mm fans. Optionally, the rear of the case can also be equipped with a 120 or 140 mm radiator for water cooling. The mesh front of the Silverstone SST-CS381 acts as a dust filter and protects the case from dirt.
