Compact, Flexible NAS Tower Chassis To fulfil the needs of enthusiasts looking for a compact, flexible NAS tower chassis, Silverstone designed the CS380. With the ability to accommodate standard components such as ATX motherboards, standard ATX (PS2) power supplies, dual 5.25" drive bays, standard-sized expansion cards, and even liquid coolers, the CS380 can easily meet the demands for majority of NAS builds. Cool and Dust-Free Equipped with two 120mm intake fans, a 120mm rear exhaust fan, and easily removable filters, keeping everything cool and dust-free is as easy as in any Silverstone premium chassis. Safety features such as lockable front door and power button are also included. Highly Compatible & Space Saving Completing a great chassis structure is a modular, eight hot-swappable drive cage design that support both 3.5" and 2.5" drives. It utilises a custom backplane supporting both SATA and SAS interfaces for increased compatibly with nearly all modern hard drives or SSDs. With a size that is nearly identical to most ATX mid towers, the space-saving CS380 is perfect for anyone looking to build a powerful NAS for home or office.

CS380 is a good idea with terrible execution. Terrible cooling (all of the fans are lackluster, one of the fans is mounted so it blows air air against a solid surface), bottom fan mount is blocked by the HDD cage. cable management is also terrible with a hole for the 8pin ATX cable at the top of the motherboard tray, but it is completely covered by the motherboard. This is the only case which has 8 drive bays at this price point, but avoid it if you can.

Great mid-size NAS case

Great mid-size NAS case with the front 8 bays. Came with plenty of screws, although I'm not sure it would have enough for 8 hard drives (I installed 4 and had some left over screws). The motherboard posts were a bit tough to get in, but Silverstone do include a little thumb tool to make life easier, which also has a philips head so that you can use a screwdriver as well which is great forward thinking!

Not the best build quality
1 February 2022

Given that there aren't really any other choices for tower cases with 8 drive bays, I can't really be too harsh on the CS380. It does the job but the build quality isn't what I'd expect for something costing this much money and the one I was sent had a faulty backplane so had to be returned. Scan were excellent as always in their handling of the return and issued a full refund very quickly. I may still buy it again as there's not a lot else that offers this number of drive bays.

Poor cooling
28 February 2020

The fans on this case don’t circulate enough fresh air over the drives, so they run hot. Since two tf the three fans are inside the case there is an element of re-circulating hot air. There are also too many random openings in the case.
