Easy to use, sits low to ground and looks sleek ! highly recommend

I bought seven of these for a balcony railing. On two the pins fit the holes almost perfectly, on the other five the holes were about 0.8mm too big. The one with the holes the right size resulted in posts that worked perfectly: strong, no wobble. The other five resulted in posts that wobbled about. I spoke to Simpson and they claimed that they checked their stock and they're all loose, they're supposed to be that way. Which is garbage - I hate it when company employees lie like that. They're not all that way: two of mine weren't. I'm lucky, I have access to a machine workshop and made new 13.5mm pins (the size of the larger holes) from 316 stainless steel and drilled the posts to 13.5mm and they worked fine, too. I bought these strong post ties, not very impressed. The vertical plate is slot thicker than a circular saw cut, I had to do multiple runs, you then have to run well past the end of the plate. Cutting with a hand saw will not do it. Then you need to be confident the holes you pre drilled will align, then bang in the studs. One of post split while driving on the studs as they are quite tight. Overall, will be using the standard saddles next time and save my time and money.
