Best Sewing Machine Ever!

This jewel of a sewing machine makes easy work of it! It has such a smooth feed and stitch. It has every type of stitch that you could possibly want or need. My absolute favorite stitch is the #16. It does 3 stitches in one. It isn't just a heavy duty machine. My husband also wears suspenders that tend to stretch out and I have to take them up. That use to be a chore but this wonderful machine makes it so extremely simple and quick to handle. This machine comes with so many extras that will leave you needing nothing. I also love the pull out guide that shows what needle and foot you need for certain sewing patterns. I tried to load pictures of my favorite patterns but they were too large to load. Thank you Singer for always providing such quality in your machines. I will forever be a Singer fan!!

However the needle went out of control and started digging into the machine. So i returned the product and the second machine came in 2 weeks later. This time the new machine had missing parts. It seems that Singer lacks quality control. They claim that these devices are tested and inspected and that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Defective machine/foot pedal
25 January 2023

I had to return the sewing machine. It looked great coming out of the box and was easy to set up. But as soon as I tried to sew with it the machine took off on its own, sewing at a very high speed. There was no way I could stop it from sewing either by taking my foot off the foot pedal or pumping it. I had to turn it off at the switch but by that time the machine had jammed with thread down into the bobbin case. The foot pedal was obviously defective. I really wanted to like the machine but I was very disappointed that whoever "refurbished" the machine didn't test it with the foot pedal included with it.

Heavy duty? I think not...

I could not be anymore disappointed in this machine. After having a singer simple for two years my boyfriend decided to get me the 6600 for a nice gift and an upgraded machine... I was so excited and couldn’t wait to try all the new stitches and to have all the upgraded features i.e. needle threader, multiple buttonholes, top loading easy view bobbin case etc. First huge let down was when I realized it doesn’t come with a manual. Fancy new machine with loads of fancy new features no idea and/or explanation on how to use them, bummer. After finding the manual online on my phone and growing frustrated with the tiny text, low battery and screen locking constantly I was eventually able to figure out how to thread the machine and how to use the top loading bobbin... at ... MoreI could not be anymore disappointed in this machine. Fancy new machine with loads of fancy new features no idea and/or explanation on how to use them, bummer. After finding the manual online on my phone and growing frustrated with the tiny text, low battery and screen locking constantly I was eventually able to figure out how to thread the machine and how to use the top loading bobbin... at long last it was finally time to lay some stitches! Side note the presser foot (any/all) fits so loose I was really hesitant to even begin stitching. It’s not that it just moves up and down to account for the different fabrics like most machines, this thing wobbles side to side as well as actually having a slight horizontal twist all of which seems very sketchy specially given the speed at which it sews. Of which I was also unprepared for, it feeds fabric through so fast! Takes some getting used to but not necessarily a negative. So I’ve now had the machine just over ONE Month, and I had to call into singer support because I keep breaking needles, and not just a couple I’ve literally broken 7 needles in two days!! The kicker is that I’m only trying to sew through 2 layers of terry cloth!!! A Heavy Duty machine that can’t sew through TWO layers of terry cloth are you kidding me?! The lady on the phone said I would wed to bring it to the closest warranty facility to have it realigned, seems simple right? Except the nearest warranty facility is 5 HOURS away! She says “oh! well, you can always just ship it to them, but you’ll have to pay the postage and hopefully it isn’t damaged during shipping”. “But once it’s there singer will pay for the repair parts and labor”. I ask about how long do these kinds of repairs usually take to which she informed me that it’s a privately owned repair shop so it depends on their schedule and their techs.....long story short calling this machine heavy duty is about like calling tissue paper card stock... there are FAR better machines on the market at this price point... I’ve switched back to my singer simple and have had no issues getting through the two layers of terry cloth for my project

Run for the hills
13 August 2023

RUN FOR THE HILLS! Purchased a refurbished machine from this site since I am just a hobbyist, and didn't need anything too fancy. I received the machine and stored it away. After about 2 months, I pulled it out for my first project and the machine did not work! It would just continuously jamb up. I never got to sew one project! It was a complete waste of money. Support said they could possibly help me fix it through email which was just going back and forth with zero resolve. As far as I am concerned I paid for trash.

Runs by itself %26 has backstitch issues
30 August 2023

I like that this machine will go through 6 layers of 600d outdoor canvas with no issues but it will also randomly start sewing with nobody touching it. Ghost in the machine....? It also sometimes refuses to backstitch until you are nearly 2 inches into a stitch. These 2 problems are big enough to not recommend it. After having serious tension issues with my Brother machine, I really wanted to love this one.

Sew many machines to choose from
14 July 2023

The last machine I bought was in the 90s, so an upgrade was well overdue. It took me weeks to finally choose the HD6605C. It took a little getting used to as is fast, but, once I'd got a handle on the foot pedal pressure, it sewed like a dream. I wanted a machine which had the option to overlock, could tackle denim, oilskin and wool and also some embroidery stitches. It is quite noisy but sewed straight through layered denim with ease. The stitch length settings and tension setting is fantastic for the change from stretch to heavy woven fabrics and for shirring. I haven't tried wool with it yet, that's next on the agenda. The embroidery stitches are just a dream. What normally takes hours by hand, it's just fantastic to be able to machine stitches like that. The auto threading of the needle is revolutionary for me, I don't know if it's a new function but why wasn't it invented earlier! I love the choice of stitches on this machine, 100 in total. Being able to adapt the stitch to suit the fabric and finish I want, it's certainly letting me be more creative with what I sew. I haven't worked out how to lower the teeth on it but am sure I will do. Love the battle ship grey colour. Great machine.

Thank you Singer for creating quality machines!
14 March 2022

I grew up with my mother owning a Singer. They just feel different than any other machine I've tried. (I've killed three other brands in the past ten years. Usually by the end of the first project.) I have completed five projects and I'm half way through six and seven on this new Singer. I am very impressed with the 6600C. My mother's machine was black and had a reversable plate for selecting a stitch (early-mid 90's). I think it had 100+ stitches. It may have had more stitch options but the 6600C sewed through canvas and denim like it was butter! I love it and I hope that it lasts longer than my mothers (which was a very long time)!

What An Upgrade!

This is only my second sewing machine and it was such an upgrade. This machine does everything and then some. First off, it has a needle threader and a thread tie off button, these two things alone save me so much time and anguish. No matter what fabric you use, it flows through so smoothly. The Singer 6600c sews so quickly without messing up any stitches. It made a very quick job of sewing 4 big floor pillows. I was really happy to ton find I was able to sew through multiple layers of thick fabrics with ease including denim and even vinyl. I love the bright LCD screen, it's very easy to read and so convenient! My second favorite feature, it sews button holes! You just put the button in the special button foot and it sews the perfect sized button hole. Absolutely Amazing! The Singer 6600c does so many things all while being so surprisingly quiet! The pedal while it does have some great features like the ability to lift the needle up at one touch, is my only minor complaint; it is plastic and seems quite fragile. I really wish it would've been made out of a more durable material. There is just so much to try, explore and create with this machine, I couldn't be happier!
