#Sk-II facial treatment essence works so amazing for my oily skin. It helps to hydrate my skin and makes my skin glowing. This essence can give results rapidly, it really works in helping with discoloration and tone in my skin. During summer time, I usually put this toner on then apply #shiseidoUvProtective powder sunscreen on my face. The toner soak in my face beautifully, helps to keep my sunscreen last longer. PROS: - Doesn’t Irritate my skin - Absorbs quickly into the skin - Skin was softer after a couple uses - Texture was smoother after 1 week - Helped reduce redness - Skin looked healthier - Helped clear stressed skin (after purging) - Skin tone evened out CONS: - Contains fragrance but it’s less than 1% - It did cause me to purge for about a week. I take my sweet time before writing any review and this is not an exception. I have been using pitera for at least two years but before need to mention that I take care good care of my skin, with serums, moisturizer day/night and always use sunscreen. I use different brands within my product line.The reason I say this is because I don't see extraordinary results by using pittera alone and don't know exactly if it really works but keep using it because I can afford it. I understand that this might be the worst review but will narrow to the simplest. If you are able to afford this product all year round without issues, then why not ? I get its cult status now!

I’m a longtime user of essences as part of my skincare routine. I was thrilled to get a sample of SK-II, which has long been touted as the holy grail of skincare.After I wash my face and use my toner, I applied the Pitera essence as my third step since it’s so light and I didn’t want any other heavier product blocking its absorption. I just add a few drops to my palm and then press it into my skin to make sure it’s absorb. I do not recommend using a cotton pad and sweeping it across your face as that’s truly a waste of product as this product has a steep price tag plus I think tapping it onto your face helps your skin drink it all up.There is a light fragrance but it’s a pleasant one, I can’t quite explain it but it’s a slight medicinal/plant-like scent that ... MoreI’m a longtime user of essences as part of my skincare routine. I can’t speak to the other claims of reducing dark spots or smoothing fine lines since I don’t currently deal with that.The only reason I’m giving it 4-stars is because of its insanely steep price tag. But I get it, SK-II ferments a very specific strain of yeast and with that prime ingredient, it’s how you get that “instant” brightening/radiant glow on your skin.All of this to say, would I purchase this on my own? Yes, with the caveat that it can’t be a regular recurring purchase because the price does pain me inside. I feel like I would relegate it to something super special save for an evening where I’m truly pampering myself unlike just using it daily, morning and night, as I have been with the sample. As someone who is a few years shy of 40, I know I will find this essential to keeping my skin hydrated and youthful.

Not the same anymore!

I used this back in 2018-2020, 2 full size bottles at least with their toner and my skin was the best with this, like it was god sent skin care product. Then I got pregnant and stopped using it make some budget cuts as it is not the most affordable skincare product. In August 2022 I saw SK-ii at Saks and I thought of going back to it and religiously used it up until March 2023 . My skin has now been the worst ever and never did it ever break out like a teenager. Literally every other day I had multiple new pimples popping out of nowhere. It was so bad that I had to go see a dermatologist for the first time in my life and she told me to stop using the immediately. I've been using SK-II Pitera Essence for about thirty years because it's the best Essence out on the market. It does a miracle on my face; it makes it feel so good and toned, firm and brightens my skin, leaving my face with a healthy glow. What is the most important thing to me it's after I apply the Pitera Essence, it helps my skin to absorb my other skin serums/moisturisers; I especially love layers of my skin treatment products. I love/enjoy taking care of my skin daily, and I have/had tried many high-end skin care products; and if you can name the brands, I probably have it🤗🤣 for me, there is NO Essence can top SKIN-II Piltera Essence. To be honest, I did not use it long enough to see if it would cause my skin to have a reaction because the fragrance was too overpowering for me in general, especially since it was on my face, which told me I would eventually have a reaction if I kept using it. While some people may love the fragrance, for someone that rarely uses fragrance-added products, I definitely do not recommend this product. Both because the fragrance was too strong and because it is not recommended for people with my skin type. I was unable to use it for more than a few days because of that. I will say, however, that the quality of the product itself did seem to be very good and high-end. I just couldn’t get past the fragrance, and thus the threat to the integrity of my skin, to use it for longer than I had to.

Works with a simple routine, but expensive

I have a simple skincare routine: Dermalogica microfoliant, Skinfix barrier+ lotion, sunscreen. I also very rarely use face makeup (concealers, foundations, or bb creams). This essence became an added step because I was finding very fine lines across my forehead, even though I'm only 23 (Likely sun damage). Previously, I couldn't find a moisturiser that would was hydrating enough to get rid of the fine lines without making me look greasy.I've been using the essence for 3 weeks now, 2-3 times a day. I splash a few drops on my hands and pat them into my face. Don't use cotton pads as it would waste so much of the product. What drew me in was also that the active ingredient is the first on the ingredients list, which I have never found on anything else (at least when I was shopping around for essences). But a warning: it has a weird smell, subtle but weird and almost unpleasant, which is likely the natural scent of the ferment filtrate.TLDR: Worth the hype, will last a long while, will buy again. Took off a star for the price.
