I bought these at the USC convention in Baltimore this year and have used them non-stop. They allow me to transition seamlessly between drills that I am running. They take up so much less room in my vehicle when I need to transport them. I have one set and i am about to order another.

I own two sets of these things, for a total of 16 poles. Yes, at times, I do use ALL of them. They slide down to a very compact size and can actually fit in some backpacks. The travel bag they come with is very weak and BOTH bags ripped and shredded in less than a couple months. However, these things are the best purchase I've made from SKLZ. We use them every practice. Used as "defenders", paired with cones and used as hurdles, paired with a band and used as an accuracy tool and higher hurdles, etc. They are pretty darn tough. My U12 girls competitive team has hit them quite a few times and they still hold up. I did, however, have one break, but that was an unbelievable hard shot that I think just hit it in the right spot to crack it. Love the telescopic design that makes storing them anywhere very easy. Poles are light weight but durable and easy to set up and use. The carrying bag it comes with could use an upgrade since it wears and tears too easily, but no complaints on the poles! Definantly get the utility weights for use on turf fields!
Don't waste your money. I bought these a couple of years ago and haven't really used them much until recently as did most my coaching on turf fields They have been stored indoors when not used. Had two poles gently hit by soccer balls from young players and both of them broke in the same place.
I love the idea of these. The stake is reversible so you don't have to worry about it poking through the included carrying bag. I was very excited to use these, and for the first two practices, they worked great. While running a drill, a ball hit one of the poles and it broke just above the first junction. It was not a hard hit, and I was surprised it broke. I will be returning them and replacing with a sturdier product.
I like these poles as they are a great tool to use for agility training/activation at the beginning of training. I also like having a physical, bigger tool to use instead of cones which really helps younger players visualize where they are to set up for passing sequences, different crossing and finishing variations, etc. If you buy these just know that they will break eventually when they get hit by a ball, just a matter of time. Have had success taping them back together though.
Not impressed. These poles are constantly broken by the mildest of contact by a ball. Mostly errant kicks, but they should not break this easily. Like that they condense and expand quickly, but spike is too much of a pain to constantly change for storage. Result ripped storage bag. Good concept but needs better material and cleaner functionality for the spike. I can almost guarantee if these poles are around a kicked soccer ball, they will get broken. I’d hold out buying until materials upgrade
I bought these having used them with another coach before. The poles are awesome. The bag ripped in less than 2 months. Holes on both ends and NO I did not have the spikes sticking out. Contacted the company for a bag replacement 3 months in. No we only have poles not the bag we can send out. What kind of junk is that? Its not like bags 6 inches in diameter 30 inches long are readily available at stores for these.
Im giving it a 3 star because these are good, it is a great idea but I wish these would be a bit more sturdy. very first time I used them one of my athletes kicked the soccer ball right in the direction of this and it snapped. (the ball was not kicked hard, it just hit one of the areas that are collapsible). did not like that. I know that these are not to be used as goals and I did not use them as goals, it was a passing sequence.
