I have to say, I was honestly not expecting good sound quality considering the price. However, I am pleasantly surprised and impressed at how good these headphones are. They feel comfortable to wear and sound sound amazing. Vocals sound crisp, as well as the background instrumentals. The bass sounds a bit muffled, but it’s perfectly serviceable. The microphone quality is also great. During my tests with phone calls, I was heard perfectly fine. The only downside would be the plastic build quality. But considering how inexpensive these headphones are, it does not really matter. I would still 100% recommend the headphones.

These headphones where a replacement for my broken bluetooth model. They did not have it in stock and gave me credit to pick something else. I went with the corded version since I did need a pair for streaming purposes and I've been happy with them the same way I was with the bluetooth model. The only downside to these headphones is that they are VERY easy to break if you're not careful. The plastic headband has a delicate point where the extensions are and if you're not careful when taking them off on a lower band level they will snap. That was the issue with the more expensive model and its the same on this one. For me, sound quality is important; however, comfort wearing them for sustained periods of time is also a concern. Prior to making a purchase of this Skullcandy Riff wired on-ear headphone, I made the effort to view several product review videos which were specific to this model on YouTube. Although these Skullcandy Riff headphones are on-ear, the parts which rest on your ear are big enough in dimensions to cover your ear and they are thickly padded and tops of the pads are SUPER soft! The sound is also great. I wish they were a little louder but I understand that people are concerned about sounds being too loud and hearing damage. I would like the option though because sometimes things are really quiet. The ear pieces appeared more flimsy than I thought they would but they did not hurt my ears at all while wearing them. The ear pieces fold down to allow them to lay flat but they do not fold in any further than that (they do not bend in half for example). The head piece is adjustable to fit different sizes. The sound is good, but the controls are awful. The ear pieces are reasonably comfortabe and the bluetooth function works well. The controls are very small buttons covered completely by one long relatively thick rubber or plastic cover. Individually covered buttons (maybe even a little larger) would be much better. The cover is so thick it is hard to tell when the buttons actually click to indicate being pushed. Maybe it is just my fat, numb fingers, but I have a lot of trouble using the controls. If the controls were better, I would give these a much higher rating.

So this is my 3rd pair of Riffs. This one being the latest generation. But the head strap has some serious issues. For starters it has these sharp corners that irritate my slightly receding hair line. So being I’m almost bald, I don’t have the cushion of a full head of hair to insulate, secondly if I bend over forward, they fall off. And I have a BIG head. Sound-wise, they are one of my favorite Skullcandy offerings, but the head strap just needs some more R&D. Overall I’m a big fan of this company and their customer service is second to none.
First set lasted about 3 months, whereupon the headband broke as my son took them off. Not seeing it I didn't attempt a replacement. The second set were bought via flybuys and supplied by Noel Leeming. He's had them 6 weeks and the same thing happened again. This time I saw it and he'd simply taken them off like any other headset and they just snapped as he took them off. Upon researching this on the internet it is a common issue. I'm not sure why the description on the Noel Leeming site states the headband is sturdy. Agreed it may well be on higher-end models, but definitely not on the 'Riff'. And its a real shame as the sound quality is excellent for a low-budget headset. Will be in tomorrow for a replacement set or refund.
great sound for the price, I was impressed by the bass. not much going for it in high notes and snare, and may be lacking some depth if thats important to you, but for $20 its not bad at all.fit was ok but was uncomfortable for long periods of time with too much pressure on the edge of the ear. Unfortunately the ear cups are a bit unpleasant, the under layer of fabric over the weird hole filled faux leather wore away really quickly, leading to the foam cushion being exposed within the first month which was gross.
