The lens incorporates a 13-blade iris that provides a pleasing bokeh with natural-looking, out-of-focus highlights. The odd number of iris blades also reduces the appearance of flare off the blades. The lens has an internal focus design so the front of the lens doesn't rotate when focusing, and it has an 85mm outer diameter for compatibility with a wide number of clip-on matte boxes.

I left my review of the terrible experience I had with the 18mm E mount, which in essence doesn't fit my A7sii. It gets stuck and doesn't make the click sound. As for this 50mm it does fit but forcing it a little bit, which shouldn't happen at all. I have never had this issue with a lens before and this infuriates me since I come from far away to picked them up from another country and in the end I have to spend my time taking them back to b&H since they not work as they should in the very main basic thing which is to mount it on the camera.

This a very affordable cone lens option for Fuji shooters. Build quality is very good. This lens is a bit soft wide open but I see this as an interesting quality. This lens far exceeds my expectations for a $500 lens. The only con is the hard stop on either side of the focus ring. That being said the focus is very smooth and works well with my Tilta Nano. I will definitely be buying more of these in the future.

So these lenses can not be repaired. They are simply not financially reasonable to repair. If you drop the lens the entire aperture will fall apart. You will need to buy a new lens at that time. However if you are careful and you want warm images that dance in front of the viewers. Then this is your lens. The most affordable Cine lenses that are not coated with "blueish" lens coatings. Not as durable as Rokinon, but a better crisper image quality.

The lens has good bokeh control in almost every corner of the frame. Love this wide aperture of this lens. It can be a little soft and dreamy. Enjoy and buy it!
I bought a set of 4 SLR Magic Microprimes. 75mm, 50mm, 35mm and 21mm. The 75 and 35 are fine but the 21 and 50 came with a different size flange thickness. Which renders the lens useless. I contacted SLR magic directly and was told this was the 'new' mount. It renders the lens useless as it wobbles when mounted to my Sony FX9.Utterly disappointed with these lenses and lack of action.
I run this lens with the X-T4 and have loved it so far. It is a fully manual lens however, peak focus does work through this manual lens and I don't find it difficult to find correct focus with it. I do wish there was a bit more travel on the focus because you can be off pretty easily when at open aperture just by a nudge. I would prefer longer travel to solve that but it isn't a show stopper just something to get used to. It can have its advantages as well when doing longer pulls. The gear is smooth and quiet and has enough resistance to not accidentally move focus. aperture ring is also geared although due to it being a micro the two rings are so tight together I don't now how you would rig it up to use both focus and aperture. I actually had a hard time getting the film city follow focus to work with it due to it being so close to the front of the lens which is wide. It worked but just barely.I also bought the 12mm and the 25mm. I love the fact that they are all the same size so when changing lenses its a really fast change. follow focus stays in place and I can do a lens change in seconds.Quality is good. I'm not a pixel peeper but for 4k video the colors are good and bokeh is nice. I would recommend watching reviews on YouTube of sample footage as I agree it does have a certain look to it and you need to be ok with that look. I think it is a nice look and one reason I chose these lenses because they don't look like photography lenses in video.
I picked this up in a set of four SLR Magic MicroPrimes, and have not used it more than a week but so far I love its unique character. The image is beautiful and has a vintage feel, it's light-weight and easy to use on my A7SII hand-held, the focus ring is quick and works great even without follow-focus. Loving so far.
The lens itself seems great. But something that you need to consider is that it may not fit your rig. In fact if your running an x mount camera with a smallrig cage and a follow focus this lens will not stick out far enough to clear the cage and have enough room for the follow focus. I tried everything to make this work. The only way I could use this lens with a follow focus was to take my camera off the cage. Other than that construction and image quality seemed to exceed its price point. Unfortunately, the lens is of no use to me.
No lens is truely perfect but it does it’s job wonderful. I know it’s designed for video but pictures that I can take for my photography is immaculate. To get a manual lens this decent at the price that it’s for is crazy. It’s way better than plenty of automatic lenses and low light availability is a plus. It’s worth a buy
Coupled this lens with the Sony FX3 on an Edelkrone Jib One, Edelkrone Headplus v2 with Edelkrone FocusPlus Pro (yes, I love Edelkrone products!) It worked perfectly and watching the focus move in on the next subject in the pan was exactly what I was hoping for. Will purchase the 35mm version as well. As others have stated, this lens gives the image a pleasing character!
