I have a few of these things attached to various cameras and rigs. I use them to mount a Zacuto Gratical HD, a Freeworld 7 monitor, and a SmallHD 702 Touch. These are so much more convenient to use than other mounts that require you to lock and unlock them every time you want to move the monitor or EVF. The amount of friction seems perfect for the devices I have used.

This is a great low budget monitor mount with a couple of caveats: 1. You need a 5.5mm socket wrench (not included) to get started. 2. There is only tilt, no swivel motion. 3. Depending on the weight, it loosens over time. This is especially true of 7 monitors with large Sony batteries on them. I prefer a Manfrotto LCD mount. Much more flexible and robust.

The tension feels really good to me, easy to make quick adjustments. Well built, and easy to get really tight. It's not anti-slip, so if your monitor accepts anti-slip mounting options, I would look there first. I'm using this on a C300 MKIII as a way to mount the camera monitor on a gimbal. Works perfect.

This device is good, but out of the box the tilt and swivel are very tight with no obvious ways to loosen, and no instructions. You have to remove the bottom foot and ring to access the screws to access the bolt to loosen the swivel. But those screws are tiny and locked in with a kind of loc-tite and made of soft metal and really hard to get out without stripping. The tilt requires removing the side round panel things and loosening another set of bolts. Once you get it setup its good but you need to disassemble it to do it, and rely on youtube to figure out how.
Bought 2 of these and returned both. The tilt was very hard to move, and it does NOT come with instructions. You have to unscrew the black covers on the side and use a socket wrench (yes) to loosen to the proper tilt. But the swivel is IMPOSSIBLE to adjust. You have to use a smaller hex key (not included) to unscrew the bottom, then there are 4 smaller Philips screws that are so tight you may strip them to remove. If you are lucky enough to get them off, you're going to have to use the socket wrench again to loosen the nut. I have several SmallRig products that I have been happy with, but this was just unacceptable to have to take apart the whole product just to get it to do what it was made for. i've been using ball head monitor mounts for years and they've mostly been pretty irritating to use. Having to loosen the bolt or the bolt coming loose by it's self and the monitor just flopping down. This mount having tilt and swivel without having to loosen a bolt is great. It is a bit tight out of the box, but that's a relatively easy fix.
Well-made, solid little mount that creates a very secure attachment to the camera. The tilt action is stiff but easy to position when you have a device attached to the top. It's nice because you don't have to unlock before adjusting and it just stays put. Note: the swivel action means you can rotate the mount around the vertical axis before you lock it down with the lower knurled knob, not after. I use this to attach a magnetic mount that holds an iPhone to the top of the camera. I can transfer and review images more conveniently without juggling the phone in one hand. I use Apple AirPrint with a compatible portable printer to make give-away prints as I shoot.
I own 2 ZCAMS with blue condor handles with the cold shoe at the front for a monitor. This mount was my first purchase to put my ninja V on it and it works great. Very steady with no shake or wobble. I use a socket driver to adjust the tilt angle. A+ item.
Works exactly as expected. Solid construction. The movement with the parts was stiff at first, but has loosened over time.
I am sure magic arms have their place for mounting monitors, but this is compact and has the tenstion to hold my 7 monitor. I was suspicious but extremely happy to see it held the monitor at any angle. Very very happy with this and already ordered 2 more for my other set up.
