Smartphone Realme Note 50 3-64 BK Octa Core 3 GB RAM 64 GB Black

The phone has amazing specs, especially for the cost. that being said, you pay the price in the very invasive settings. thing like native ads being baked into the settings and questionable software that feels predatory. That being said, I was able to get rid of most of the ads and data harvesting functions, though that was after a good 5 hours of tinkering. if you are not tech literate enough to navigate the settings or operate a computer without a youtube tutorial, then i urge you to get another phone. Though, if you really need to get a decent phone and are willing to shoulder the security risks and predatory marketing that comes with the realme experience, then this phone is a solid option

Budget 4g phone for everyday basic use or as a backup

I was looking for a cheap phone for use abroad only. At under Fr100 this fitted the bill perfectly with full dual sim and card slot, 128 gb storage (many in this price range have only 64gb). It is quite lightweight 186gm and thin 8mm, so handles very well. It is wrongly advertised as including a power adapter (there is none so digitec take note!), and coming with android 14 (13 out of the box, but upgradeable to 14). However a silicon case and preinstalled basic screen protector are included. The model also wrongly advertised as 'Grade 50' instead of 'Note 50', a bit confusing, but the correct phone was delivered. Word out is that it may not get android 15, a shame for a phone that is less than a year old, but I would still recommend it for minimal, basic use or as ... MoreI was looking for a cheap phone for use abroad only. For the price I can't complain ; shall see how it performs over the coming months and then maybe review again.
