It tackles various terrains effortlessly, providing a smooth ride even on bumpy surfaces, and my wife has even been able to jog with this stroller thanks to only having the 3 wheels. The 5-point harness. bumper bar, and parent wrist strap are great safety features, and as an added bonus the parent strap is great for a walking toddler to hold onto if a parents hands are busy pushing uphill. The fold mechanism is great for storing the stroller for a boot or small space, however, the design of the large 3rd wheel can make this a bit clumsy to store without the included storage bag.My eldest's excitement about the Traveler is evident in every ride, he loves the sense of independence and adventure it brings, and I appreciate the dual parent/child control that allows me to guide them when needed. The spacious reclining seat and padded shoulder straps ensure comfort during longer outings for my 1 year old, however, at a push it's sometimes nice to have space to change a nappy which isn't really possible because of the handlebars on this stroller.Overall, I highly recommend this stroller and it's a great innovation of a product!

This stroller/trike has been fantastic. I have a (nearly) 1 year old and a 2 and a half year old. They both absolutely love going in the Smartrike. My 1 year old likes to hold on to the steering bar as it makes him feel like he's "driving" (although I can change the setting on it so that he isn't actually steering!). My older son loves having a go at pedalling, and I can then push him along with ease as soon as he gets tired. It is quick to change between modes for the two children - I just have to unclip and pull off the footrests and they can be stored in the underneath storage basket. There is also a zip compartment at the back for storing small items. The Smartrike drives very smoothly as a stroller, turns nicely, is simple to get up and down curbs, and overall feels high quality. It looks really chic - I have received lots of compliments on it while out and about. The Smartrike seat also seems to be very comfortable for my children to sit in, which is great especially compared to other compact strollers I've had in the past. My younger son has napped in the Smartrike several times and it can recline so that he is lying flat, as per the photo! The only thing is that I can't really have my changing bag attached to the back of the stroller when he's reclined because I'm worried the bag would bash him through the fabric at the back of the stroller. The Smartike is quick and easy to fold down and then get it out again, once you get the hang of it. It is compact and lightweight once folded too, and has two handy handles - one for carrying it in your hand and one for carrying it on your shoulder. Once folded it has to lie flat - it can't really be stored upright because of the 3-wheel configuration. Overall though it is a super nifty, attractive, and practical stroller that I am finding really useful for both of my little boys, and that they find very exciting to use too.

Pros:- Quality - fabrics/ buckles /wheels and frame all feels quality - doesn't feel flimsy.- Lightweight but sturdy, easy to navigate on different terrains, and looks stylish too- My toddler loves the steering handle, definite a big win from him.- Comes with a handy travel bagI think this is a great pushchair, depending on the size / age of your child. If they are closer to 1.5years, they will use the leg rests and recline and sit, OR if they are taller their legs will be able to reach and pedal. Unfortunately, my toddler is 2.5years and around 95cm, but his legs don't quite reach the pedals if he is strapped in, but then he is also too tall to rest his legs on the leg rests. This means his knees are either bent up on the leg rests, or left dangling if the leg rests are removed (both options aren't comfy). It's a shame the seat doesn't have a few more settings to move forward more which would enable him to be able to reach the pedals more to help bridge this gap. Also, I found it strange that the pram didn't come with a rain cover, if you want one, you'll have to purchase separately - which for living in the UK, I would have preffered to have included rather than the pram travel bag.So, i think it would definitely be a good idea to try this trike in real life with your child before purchasing, to make sure you are happy with whichever setting they get to use, and we will wait patiently till my toddler grows a bit more and can start peddling!

It seems durable. My 18 month old loves riding in the smarTrike, and feels like he is driving along using the handlebars and doing something a bit more adventurous when going on our walks. He does struggle to fully reach the handle bars even when she seat is in its most upright position but this is something that he will grown into. I've also noticed that he often dangles his legs either side of the footrest but still seems comfortable doing this. He isn't yet big enough to use the pedals so this is a function that we haven't tried as yet. I think this item is a great investment as it can be adapted to suit the growth and development of the child. The main disadvantage for me is that the stroller doesn't always feel fully stable on uneven pavements, and if there is a tree root or camber to the pavement, there have been several occasions where one of the back wheels has lifted off the ground and it could easy have tipped over. The back wheels are quite small, which obviously makes the stroller much more compact but I think this does mean it is inherently less stable. For this reason I would say this is best suited to urban environments.Overall I think this is a great stroller/trike and we will get a lot of use out of it.

I felt he was really well catered for in it and the quality of parts seems excellent. We struggled more with our toddler to be honest. She enjoyed being in this and the ability for her to engage in the journey was lovely, however, when she inevitably fell asleep, we had major issues as there was nowhere safe to put her feet. They weren't able to stay on the pedals once she was asleep so they just dangled, which was really awkward. This does feel like a design flaw, as I thought the ability of this product to be able to act more like a pushchair when needed was a massive selling point. The switching of the leg supports and pedals is quite a process, you couldn't do it immediately when a child has nodded off.If this item is more suited to younger babies, then a buggy is surely easier? I'm not sure. I'm really torn with this product as I love how well it caters for my baby and I love that things like the storage bag are included. However, we did struggle with the toddler, who I imagine the product is more aimed at. I think what smartrike have done, they have done really well. They just seemed to have forgotten the tiny detail of making this perfect for a sleeping toddler, so we would have to be careful to use this at times when she is less likely to sleep.Due to these issues, I feel a 4 star review is fair. If the issues were sorted, I would give 5 stars definitely.

Perfect, except for the front wheel...

Quality 5/5: The product is great quality and made from nice materials. It has a comfortable handle. It is quick and intuitive to fold and unfold and has a great range of seat positions (e.g. upright, lying down, trike mode). My favourite feature is the strong magnetic seat clasp, which is great for wriggly toddlers!Appearance 5/5: It's a really smart looking stroller. She exclaims "My car!". It's not as fun as a ride-on car, but it's much more practical. Unfortunately the trike height is fixed, so it will only be suitable when your toddler is tall enough to reach the pedals.Suitability 1/5: Almost everything about the design is superb as a lightweight compactable stroller, perfect for city use or for travelling. Unfortunately, when the front wheel is put into stroller mode (the wheel locks for trike mode) the wheel very easily spins out of control. When it goes into wheel spin you lose control of the stroller as it rapidly shakes side to side and you are unable to move forwards. It's such a shame as this would otherwise be a phenomenal and flawless product. However, when taking the frequent wheel spin problem into account it renders the stroller almost unusable.Summary: Despite this being an overall fantastic bit of engineering and design, I would not recommend it because the wheel spin has been too problematic.

I actually love this pram. I'm not one for gimmicks and multipurpose items but this is great. It is so easy to put together, I checked the instructions as I progressed but they weren't needed. Many positives to say as follows:The pram folds easily into a small space and has its own carry bag and the handle on the pram is comfortable to grip whilst carrying.Rear wheels are easily removed to fit into smaller spaces when folded. The pedals attach/detach easily so they can be removed if not needed, no tools are necessary for this part so they can be removed in seconds, wherever you may be.The lock on the front wheel can be engaged easily by pushing in/out to allow your child to steer if pedaling, or unlocked so the adult can push in the direction they want.It is ... MoreI actually love this pram. I also can't wait until I can stop pushing and my daughter can propel herself everywhere!

First off, this pushchair trike is amazing quality. It goes together nicely, the packaging is smart and the colour is a lovely deep blue. It's nice and robust and for a lightweight pram it's sturdy and deals with bumps and lumps easily - it's gone over LOADS of cobbles and it handles them no issue at all.My almost 2 year old loves it. Obsessed to the point of needing to hide it which is very helpful for getting him out the house with speed. But he struggles to reach the peddles so haven't really tried out the trike functionality.I like how it can switch from a pram to a trike with essentially one click. Looks a bit odd in trike mode as it's a pram (it looks like it doesn't know what it is) but I think that's mainly due to it being different to the usual trikes ... MoreFirst off, this pushchair trike is amazing quality. This is so much easier to push as a pram which is great. The tray underneath can hold a few things and I have found the fabric behind the seat works as a secret store too which is not its intended purpose but it's really useful.Main downside is that my little boy does in his excitement to get in tip it slightly which I think is due to the three wheel, and it has tipped on a wonky pavement. But not a deal breaker.Overall I'm much more pleased with this than I thought I would be which is great!I think it's absolutely perfect for anyone with littles who walk to and from parks etc on roads where it's safer and more convenient to push them along before letting them do their own thing before having a good nap, laid down on the way back so you can just leave them in it until they wake!

What a fun Stroller
15 July 2024

I must admit I was a little sceptical about how much use we would get from this stroller. Our 3 year old daughter is incredibly active and dislikes sitting in a normal pushchair. This can be very frustrating as going anywhere can be a slow and cumbersome process, dragging bikes, pushchair and an unhappy child. This has made going places a breeze. She is so excited about using it and always asks for her 'blue bike'. I am gutted we didn't get it earlier but it will certainly get more use with our growing family.Practicality of this item is great. It also packs down surprisingly small. Although I don't think it would fit in an overhead bin it would be perfect for air travel giving an activity whilst keeping a child from running into anyone. The attachment for a younger child is also easy to fit and great for 'sleep mode'. I have also been informed that it is very comfy which is high praise from my daughter. The harness is very secure yet soft enough that it does not dig in at all.In terms of assembly it is fairly straightforward and took around 15 mins. The bag it comes with is great for storage and definitely something I would bring to store for air travel. This stroller makes travelling with a 3yr old a breeze. Folding the back down she can safely propel herself and when too tired easily just sit and enjoy the ride. The endless negotiation to get anywhere is over. I just wish I had got one sooner.
