Base layer shirts rock!
I live in Central CA and wear my Base Layer shirts every day. The temperature can go from morning cold to warm afternoons. I am extremely comfortable during these months while walking in the early morning or just resting at home. It almost feels like a natural extra layer on your body! I recently recommended 3 friends to order base layer shirts and they too LOVE them. Oh and the neckline for women fits so great. No tightness around the neck and a nice lower scoop neck . Perfecto❤️... Show more

Comfy and Just the Right Amount of Warm
Purchased for Spring trip to Mt. Rainier when projected weather in June was 12 degrees Fahrenheit and nine inches of snow! We ended up doing a 8-day 700 mile road trip through Western WA, going to Olympic NP, San Juan Island, and Mt Rainier. The shirt was perfect for many different temps and weather conditions: rain, snow, traveling by ferry to the island, up to Paradise. And because it's wool, it did not get stinky or out of shape with so much wear.Note: before wearing, I washing twice on gentle in a laundry bag using 7th Generation laundry soap. No softener! Let it air dry on a rack between washes. Came out great and was comfortable. I have sensitive skin, so I was a bit concerned about the itch-factor.... Show more

Excellent lightweight shirt, bit of a boxy fit
Measurements for reference - 5'8", 41/32/42, size Large. The Smartwool.com sizing chart suggested an XL, but it would have been too big.Really like this shirt, it's comfortable and I often wear it as an everyday item. I'm fairly new to Merino wool, so the anti-odor capabilities after a full day of physical activity still blows my mind. This shirt is very breathable and light without being cold; I bought it with the intent of using more year-round rather than just winter, I feel it will hold up nicely. I have longer arms and often struggle with sleeves being too short, but am pleased that is not the case with this one. The sleeves are perfect in length, but a bit more loose than I'm used to. The body shape is fairly square for a women's shirt. It fits me well in the ... Great for winter fun!
I really like Smartwool products in general, and this shirt is no exception, but... if i had to choose between this and the Intraknit - i would go with that even if its a bit more expensive. The spandex material in the intraknit makes it perfect for active sports like winter hiking or XC skiing as a baselayer. That said, it does run larger than the Intraknit, so i would size down. over all love the product though. Keeps me warm and sweat free during the cold temperatures. Also wear it hiking - no matter what the season-because on multi-day treks, it wont smell! Also love the natural SPF (for those summer activities when not worn as a baselayer). THis is a must have (but consider the Intraknit).... Show more

Great shirt from last year's line - great price!!
Fits perfectly. I have an athletic build - 5'7", 130#, size medium. This shirt is super-long on me. I have a short torso (5/7" and have a 36" inseam). The shirt's hem hits below my glutes. By buying this shirt from last year's line, the color choices were limited (I chose black). The current version claims credit for some fit enhancements, but for the price I am happy with this shirt!... Show more

Must have for my backpacking kit
I absolutely love this merino wool sweater. It looks flattering and fits beautifully. I've been wearing it as a sweater out and get plenty of compliments. It is the perfect weight for hiking outdoors in the colder Northern California months, simultaneously keeping me warm while not retaining too much heat. The fabric still smells good after multiple consecutive days backpacking in the backcountry. I will definitely buy this shirt again in other colors! Definitely worth the price. #sweepstakes... Nice top
I have been buying merino smart wool types of products from several companies, including woolx and ibis. While I like the color of this item, it's not my preferred fabric or fit. Other brands' XS fits well. This is a little snug and I weigh 105. The sale price was right and I would still call it a good value & recommend others buy this line. And am definitely wearing my long sleeve base layer.... Show more

Quite warm for its weight but has an odd fit
I've found that Smartwool women's tops tend to be very roomy in the chest and very tight in the waist. In this particular model, the neck is a scoop neck and cut rather low, which exaggerates this fit. The front of the armpits cut into me and the armpit attachment point on the side is also too low, lifting the baggy bust area with any arm movement. This shirt did not work for me, but I did like the fabric. This baselayer is midweight but noticeably warm (not hot) as soon as you put it on. I ended up keeping the Smartwool Classic Thermal Merino baselayer which is a thicker midweight due to it having a slightly better fit, but it wasn't significantly warmer than this All-Season Merino as I would have expected based on the substantially heavier fabric weight. This ... Too thin and quality is ok
Too thin. I bought one the shirt from Smartwool around 20 years at sporty store when Ute as closing and I bought at $20 knot. 100% wool nice quality thicker shirt. How it's made and material amazing. Nothing compares to what I got this time around and so much expensive... very thin shirt and how it's made is much difference. I like that shirt and it's still like new. But this thin shirt looks like something I could purchase at Costco at $20... I just recently got 109% merino wool short at Costco and was exactly thin like this shirt and coat me $18! I will keep it because I already wear it but very disappointed in quality... glad that I bought on sale thou. If at full price I would probably return it.... Show more

True to size (unlike other Smartwool tops)
I would prefer an XXL if they made it, but went with an XL as I’ve lucked out with other Smartwool pieces that ran big. This piece does not. Serviceable — the seams at the shoulder read a little activewear to me, but I think I could still get away with wearing this to the office depending on the rest of the outfit. Not docking stars for the fit, since I was rolling the dice in the first place. Would love to see more basic Smartwool pieces in plus sizes.... Show more
