An excellent purchase for runners

The Smartwool zero cushion socks are an excellent purchase for any runner.I have been running for 20 years and used virtually every type of sock. Yes, I’ve even used cotton
white crew socks (not a fan). The Smartwool zero cushion socks are excellent for the following reasons:1. The material is soft, light, and comfortable.2. The material is
moisture wicking and keeps my feet dry (I am a heavy sweater and drown my feet in sweat on long runs)3. The extra material on the ankle part of the sock prevents chafing
and raw Achilles area skin.4. The color and design is nice and can match most running kit.A negative is the price point, but these socks are an investment. All of ... Show more

I bought these out of necessity walking downtown with the wrong shoes and did not prepare correctly. I love moosejaw and needed a pair of socks to keep the heel of my shoe
from cutting into my foot. The back padding on the sock was just what I needed.Fast forward to today and I wear these socks non stop. They breath better than any others I
have. The material is super durable. And overall the quality is just way better than any of my other socks. I wouldn't say I am a typical premium hiking footwear buyer, but
now that I tried this product I will for sure be buying more Smartwool products in the future.

All of the Smartwool socks I own have lasted years (much longer than a standard pair of white crew socks). If you are hesitant on buying a pair of socks at this price, I would say that you need to evaluate the long term use and how they might benefit you fitness regimen. If you are serious about running (20+ miles a week, I know that is not much to some, then I would suggest them) if you don’t run 20+ a week these might be a consideration as a gift to yourself or runner.... Excellent Fit
20 January 2024
Transitioned all my sports socks to the wool ankle and low cut socks. It really depends on what you’re looking for in a sock…these have no cushion. I did not want any cushioning in my socks which would add bulk inside my minimalist shoes. Socks are breathable…i purchased an xl…and wear size 12 shoes.Highly recommend if you’re looking for a thin sports sock.... Show more

I've already bought more
22 June 2024
I've been wearing smartwool socks almost exclusively for about 15 years. To me there are none better. They outlast everything else. I just retired the first pair I bought a few weeks ago. The run zero cushion are great for everyday wear. They cover my foot everywhere my shoes touch so there is no rubbing or discomfort at all.... Show more

I would not buy these socks again
24 June 2024
Long time Smartwool customer. That said, I think I'll start evaluating my alternatives. Pictured below is how one pair was sent to me from Smartwool. I purchased directly from them, as when I went to a big box retailer that carries these as well, I found two other pairs I planned to purchase with holes in them. It's one thing to have a manufacturing issue, but how this ended up in my hands without any quality control in place to prevent this, considering the price point, is more frustrating. Yet, when contacting SW instead of simply sending out a replacement pair ASAP (as that would be the expected bare minimum to make it right), when I ordered six total pairs on this order alone. They need the bad pair back first. Not a huge deal, but that's time I have to invest ... MoreLong time Smartwool customer. That said, I think I'll start evaluating my alternatives. No longer addicted

I bought 3 pair of socks, 2 were just too lightweight. Trying to get a refund from Socks Addict is a royal pain. First it is difficult to find where on the website to go to begin a return, then even though I was returning two of the same pair I had to complete the form for both pair. Then I was repeatedly kicked off when I got to the final step. After several attempts I finally got to the question how to I want the refund and there is a “restocking fee” on a refund … really? I ended up taking store credit to keep from loosing my money, I clicked on that option and then on “continue shopping” and when I put the socks in the cart and went to check out the refund amount wasn’t there. I could have worn out a pair of socks in the time it took to complete the return and ... MoreI bought 3 pair of socks, 2 were just too lightweight. Perfect no-show sock for any use
5 August 2024
Perfect no-show sock for any use. I tend to run no cushion in my socks as I wear them for every use. Smartwool socks seem to last forever, and don't stink. Coming from someone who usually wears socks once due to sweaty and stinky feet, these don't stink after one use and can be worn multiple times if needed. These have replaced another merino wool ankle sock and I'll for sure be buying more... Show more

Sized large, thin and no foot grip
19 September 2022
I am a Smartwool fan and have many pairs of their socks. But these socks are not up to their usual high standard. The first problem is sizing. I am a Euro 45, which falls between L and XL on the sizing chart. I purchased two pairs of the XL. It was a mistake. They are so large the heel ends up in the middle of the ankle. The second problem, these socks do not grip your feet. As a result they slide down below the heel to your instep when in use. I forlornly hoped, they might shrink in the wash, but no luck, they are still too large all round. Clearly, a large size might have been better, but their very thin construction, they are advertised as thin, indicates a lack of foot grip might still be there. Disappointing. Luckily, I purchased a pair of Balega Hidden Comfort ... MoreI am a Smartwool fan and have many pairs of their socks. But these socks are not up to their usual high standard. Too much Nylon
3 December 2023
Too much Nylon results in hot feeling socks, almost at all times. I find that really annoying. They are durable though. The fit tightly and stay put for the most part, but why the loose feeling tabs on the front and back?? Those are pointless and make the sock feel weird. I am men's 12 and the large fits me well. Please make the black sock all black instead of hi vis green.... Show more
