Feels like a Warm Hug

This base layer feels like a warm hug. It is long enough to stay tucked in, no matter which activity engages me. One quality of wool I have always loved is its ability to breathe
and adapt to temperature fluctuations. This top does that and its opaqueness lets me feel comfortable when i feel the need to strip down to my base layer. I followed the size
charts carefully and the top fits as a base layer should. My only disappointment is that apparently my skin is pretty sensitive even to merino wool. Although I'm comfortable
wearing it all day, when I take it off in the evening, I'm a little itchy around wrists and neck. I find a camisole under this does help and doesn't lessen the "hug" fa... Show more

In Winter, I wear the Merino wool baselayer tops constantly and mend any moth damage. I love them and frequently recommend them to others. But I do have a problem with
the sizing. The first 3 I bought (over 10 years ago) were all size Large. So I was surprised a couple of years ago (during lockdowns) when I ordered size Large again and it was
way too big. It was nice that there was a customer service number to ring, but the individual I spoke with told me something about body shapes not always being right. (I had
lost weight, but I had 3 in size Large that all still fit, if slightly looser.) I spent alot of time and money returning/exchanging it for a size Medium. I recently ordered... Show more

I am using this shirt for everyday use. I love these tops, and I'm now a merino wool convert! I was always buying 100% cotton, but it stays wet, if you sweat. These tops keep
you the right temp, so you don't really sweat, and they stay dry, if you do. I also love the colors in the dark pink version of this print that I got. These jacquard knit ones do
snag more easily than the solid colors, but if you're diligent about fixing them right away, they disappear. I was so happy when these went on sale, so I could add to my
collection.

I wish there was a store where I could try on your products.... Show more

Incredibly soft and comfy!
17 June 2023
First time customer of Smartwool after reading countless reviews/recommendations and I was not disappointed!! For size reference, I'm 5'3 120lbs and usually S in tops so size S here was a perfect fit for me. It was loose enough for my comfort, while still providing me warmth, but if you're looking for something that hugs your body like a bra then I would size down. I bought this for a hike in Mt. Rainier but didn't get a chance to go and wore it for other hikes in WA; it was incredibly comfortable and warm! It was not itchy at all and the "black cherry heather" color was just as advertised. After one wash and air dry, the shirt still maintained it's color and length. I'd HIGHLY recommend this because what's not to love about being stink-free and warm while looking ... MoreFirst time customer of Smartwool after reading countless reviews/recommendations and I was not disappointed!! I rave about Smartwool to everyone
3 December 2022
I started with a base layer 250 Merino top purchase. Loved it so much then purchased another color. I now have four colors and plan to get others. I also ventured into the base layer leggings--have three colors, two pull-on skirts and one zip skirt, socks--have six pair, and underwear--have six. Without getting too specific, the underwear work great to deflect moisture. Family and friends say I am a walking Smartwool billboard :)The only negative feedback would be when I ordered a black top, I could tell the material was a different blend. So I looked where it was made and it turned out to be a different place than all my other items. Considering purchasing another black but will want to make sure it has the same blend. I should have called customer service at the ... MoreI started with a base layer 250 Merino top purchase. Loved it so much then purchased another color. I now have four colors and plan to get others. Looks nicer than expected
15 October 2022
I have a ton of base layers, I snowboard and fat bike and spend time at the rink. I’d been eyeing this one for a while and finally purchased this fall. It looks nicer than I pictured, the seams make it look like a casual shirt and I could see wearing this with jeans on a cold day. I wore this to the rink and it’s comparable to my other fav base layers in terms of warmth.Stay true to your size with this. I had read some reviews saying it’s a bit small. I wear a small in Arc and Pata base layers, but thought I’d go medium on this because I hate feeling constricted, even tho a base layer really should be fitted. The medium is very loose and roomy on me and I might have trouble fitting under a technical fleece. I’m keeping because it looks nice in this size but will ... MoreI have a ton of base layers, I snowboard and fat bike and spend time at the rink. Lovely
7 February 2023
This shirt is lovely, I am 5'4 and 105 lb and got size small. I wear it with another wool base layer underneath. In another words, I wear it as a sweater.I give it 4 stars only because of the colour. I got moonbeam heater, which looks stunning on the picture. In real life it's greyish with pink and baby blue streaks. I wanted a light colour, so I kept it, it's OK to wear around the house.I love Smartwool products, but I have to admit, that their colours are not flattering.... Show more

My favorite baselayer
14 December 2022
This is my go-to long underwear base layer for my upper body. I use it all winter for walking my dog, hikes, or xc skiing. I use it in the fall and spring for climbing. After one full season of wear, it's holding up great. This is my second one, because I like to have them on rotation and not get caught in the laundry. I love that I can generally get away with wearing one frequently for a week before needing to wash it.I'm usually a small or medium on top and I wear a medium in this top. (My chest is 36", waist 29.5".) It's fitted, but comfortable. There's no way a small would fit me. It does slightly stretch out during wear, but not in a problematic way and washing it shrinks the wool back.... Show more

My Favorite Long-Sleeve
4 May 2023
Not only is this thermal excellent for temperature regulation, but it's also quite an attractive shirt! I am 5' 10", 140 pounds, and the medium fits perfectly. It's my most-worn long-sleeved shirt by a long shot. If you only air-dry it, and keep it in a bag during washing (we have a spindle-style washing machine, which tends to stretch out items over time), it will last a long time. Just recently I also took a sweater shaver to it, and boy howdy, it looks brand new now! I've even worn this for our engagement photos, which was a perfect Pacific Northwest clothing choice. Love this shirt, and highly recommend it. Sports I use this shirt while doing: hiking, backpacking, cold water sea kayaking (under my drysuit).... Show more

Very warm- lil itchy
28 December 2022
I bought these to wear for general day/day during the cold months. They are noticeable warm as soon as you put them on. I’m not terribly sensitive to wool, but they definitely have some of that itchiness. It won’t bother me much but for others it could be a big issue. I expected this but chose them anyway for the sustainability factor. I usually wear a medium and found these fit as expected- tight enough to not be a barrier under other clothes. I feel confident these will hold up, but am being very careful washing and air drying to keep them in good shape.... Show more
