Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick - Stepping Out

The Smashbox Always On liquid lipstick is a phenomenal matte liquid lipstick. As a woman with tremors in her hands, liquid lipstick can be quite challenging. Heck, anything that involves my hands is challenging, but I keep trying. Anyways, I have found over the years that a shorter wand is easier to control when it comes to liquid lipstick. The Smashbox Always On comes in a short, fat jar providing a shorter wand, giving me a lot more control of my application of the product. The lipstick also has a very thin formula, which concerned me a lot, but in the long run proved to be a much easier formula to control. The thinner formula reminded me a lot of a lip stain going on, but not quite as thin and wet feeling. The pigmentation is phenomenal. You are able to get full lip coverage with just a couple swipes. I’m sure you could get it in one, but because I work in small sections it equals out to be about two layers to full coverage. It is very lightweight, making it very comfortable to wear (even for hours) without any signs of wear (feathering, fading, cracking, moving, etc.). I find the sponge tip applicator a bit large to work with, but enjoy the slant as well as the pointed tip because it not only helps me get a more precise application, but also fuller coverage from the flat and wider base of the applicator. This is by far one of my favorite liquid lipsticks on the market. All of the shades I own follow this same type of formula, application and wear. Shades I own are: Audition (neutral rose) Baja Bound (pink coral) Best Life (deep rose) Liquid Fire (warm rust) Boss Up (terracota rose)

This liquid lipstick from Smashbox is a prefect example of fabulous liquid lipstick. The formula has a creamy texture, goes on smooth and opaque. It gives you plenty of pigmentation, and formulated with Advanced Polymer Technology that gives you up to 8 hours wear. Even though this lipstick dries down to a matte finish it’s comfortable to wear and non dry feeling. The applicator is amazing, teardrop shaped to makes applying a breeze. I chose this shade Out Loud, which is a velvety, rich, burnt orange color perfect for fall wear. It’s bold, with red undertones, but surprisingly easy to wear. Amazing matte lippie

Like many other liquid lipsticks on the market, it is recommended to use a lip balm first. It is a very nice matte formula so I make sure to prep my lips correctly. The red lasted me all day and was easy to remove after using an oil cleanser. These types of lipsticks are meant to be dissolved with oils so avoid overly GREASY food. I ate a burger (carefully of course) and the red was still bright! It is such a beautiful comfortable formula so don't listen to negative reviews due to application error :)

DOES. NOT. BUDGE.

I don't own this product but want to save up for it. I had my makeup done for a school dance and they used all smash box. there were some things i loved and others that i didn't love. BUT THIS LIPSTICK WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST THING. We went to a restaurant, had snacks at the dance, and then went to someone's house after with more food. my lipstick literally didn't stain anything. it never got on my glass or on a straw. it never shifted. IT LITERALLY DID NOT MOVE. i did put some lip gloss over it towards the end of the night just because my lips looked a bit dry but any of these liquid lipsticks have that so that didn't bother me. and the color still was there. so for over 5-6 hours of wear with a lot of eating and drinking it was amazing. Don’t buy if you like your sanity

Bought Bang bang by smashbox because I needed a nice red lipstick for work, didn’t realise choosing to try a new brand would be my worst mistake. This liquid lipstick was about $45 and soooo not worth it. It’s not transfer proof and it stains orange. This product gets on everything, onece this is on don’t even think of putting anything above neck cause it’ll be stained. Avoid this product like the plague

Glides on smoothly

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Fair Game is my absolute favorite. The formula is fantastic – it glides on smoothly, feels weightless, and stays put for hours. The shade Fair Game is a versatile, beautiful color that complements various looks. I can't get enough of how comfortable and long-lasting this lipstick is. It's become a staple in my makeup routine, and I absolutely love it!

Love / Hate relationship

I wish I could give this 2 and a half stars because I'm literally half and half on this. The part that I love is how soft and soothiing the lipstick is. It's like butter and so comfortable, not drying at all like most matte lipsticks. The color is beautiful too. This would be my number one favorite matte lipstick if it weren't for the bad things. And boy, the bad is bad. The first bottle I got had no stopper so it was just a gloppy mess right out of the bottle. I mailed it back for a replacement. The replacement has a stopper but it still comes out so gloppy. I have to just put a dollop on my lips and then use a lip brush to spread it across my lips. One of my all-time favorite lipstick

I love this one and wish Smashbox have bigger lipstick tubes and more shades. It has a matte finish and is ramen-proof. It goes a little darker after oxidation but it’s ok. The color looks great on my skin tone. Although the product is not as buildable as satin finish lipsticks, it’s very pigmented. One swipe application is enough.
